The 12th cycle of the CNN series was in production when the beloved celebrity chef and TV host died in June.

00:00I've been on a plane for like, I don't know, it was long,
00:04so like five Mark Wahlberg films.
00:06Following his tragic death, Anthony Bourdain's Parts Unknown
00:09will return for a final season in the fall on CNN.
00:12The network's award-winning original series
00:14was in production on its 12th season
00:16when the beloved celebrity chef and TV host
00:18took his own life while filming in France in early June.
00:21No premiere date has been announced yet,
00:23but only one episode of The Final Seven,
00:26featuring a trip to Kenya,
00:27had been completed prior to Bourdain's death.
00:30That will be the last show to have the host's narration.
00:34This, this stuffing of food into your fellow diner's face
00:37is called Gersha,
00:39and it's what you do to show your affection and respect.
00:42According to the LA Times,
00:43the rest of the episodes will feature audio of Bourdain
00:46that had been gathered while shooting on location,
00:48and will be completed by the directors who filmed them.
00:51Those installments include trips
00:53to Manhattan's Lower East Side, the Big Bin area of Texas,
00:56the U.S.-Mexico border,
00:58the Asturias region of Spain, and Indonesia.
01:00Amy Entelis, the executive vice president of talent
01:03and content at CNN, told the LA Times,
01:06each episode will feel slightly different
01:08depending on what's gathered in the field.
01:10She added,
01:11they will have the full presence of Tony
01:13because you'll see him, you'll hear him, you'll watch him.
01:16That layer of his narration will be missing,
01:18but it will be replaced by other voices of people
01:20who are in the episodes.
01:22Basically, me tracing my steps and all that.
01:25We'll talk about that later.
01:26Right now, noodles.
01:27She also revealed that the second to last episode
01:29will see the cast and crew going behind the scenes
01:32to discuss the making of the series,
01:34and that the finale will focus on how Tony affected the world.
