00:03has died, the shocking next star of The Bachelorette
00:05is revealed, and why James Bond fans are calling
00:08for the delayed release of No Time to Die.
00:10Here are today's top stories.
00:12First, James Lipton, the man whose desire
00:14to give his acting students a greater insight
00:16into their art, led to the popular Bravo series
00:19Inside the Actor's Studio, has died.
00:21He was 93.
00:23Lipton's wife told The Hollywood Reporter
00:24he passed away early Monday at his home in Manhattan
00:26from bladder cancer.
00:28Conceived by Lipton in 1994, Inside the Actor's Studio
00:31was created to serve as a master class
00:33for the students of the Actor's Studio Drama School,
00:36a joint venture of the Actor's Studio and the New School.
00:38With Paul Newman as its initial guest,
00:41each one-hour program featured a top performer
00:43in an intimate and in-depth one-on-one interview with Lipton.
00:46Nearly 300 subjects, including many Oscar and Emmy winners,
00:50shared the secrets of their craft with Lipton
00:52and his audience of students before the TV cameras.
00:55The show became one of Cable's longest-running series.
00:59Next, the new Bachelorette was revealed
01:00on Good Morning America Today,
01:02and no one saw this coming.
01:03THR's Neha Joy has more.
01:05The newly-minted Bachelorette is none other
01:07than Claire Crawley, who true Bachelor fans will remember
01:10as the runner-up on Juan Pablo's season.
01:13And if you're shocked by the big reveal, you're not alone.
01:15The Bachelorette revealed the news came as a surprise,
01:18even to herself.
01:19But we can't help but feel like Crawley is the perfect choice for the lead role.
01:30Crawley first won over Bachelor Nation when she famously told off Juan Pablo
01:33at the final rose ceremony of his season of The Bachelor.
01:36What you just made me go through, I would never want my children having a father like you.
01:41OK.
01:43Woo! You tell them, girl!
01:45Crawley also had stints on spinoffs Bachelor in Paradise,
01:48as well as Bachelor Winter Games, where she was briefly engaged to The Bachelorette Canada
01:51star Benoit before breaking it off shortly after the show.
01:55Claire Crawley is 38 years old.
01:57Her casting comes after recent cycles of The Bachelor have been criticized
02:00for casting younger contestants.
02:02Meanwhile, Judge Judy is coming to an end after 25 seasons.
02:05Neha has more on that story, too.
02:07The syndicated court show host appeared on Monday's The Ellen DeGeneres Show,
02:10where she told Ellen that the 2020-2021 season of Judge Judy will also be its last.
02:15Ugh, so sad.
02:17I want you to stop getting hysterical over nothing!
02:21OK, she's right. There is a silver lining to this news.
02:24While opening up to Ellen about the end of her show,
02:26she did reveal she has a new project in the works.
02:29So, Judy Justice will be coming out.
02:32But as far as details are concerned, she's keeping that pretty coy, saying she can't tell us just yet.
02:38Finally, on the same day that tickets went on sale for the 25th Bond film No Time to Die,
02:42there have been calls for the film's release date to be postponed.
02:45No Time to Die is due for an international rollout in early April,
02:49following its world premiere in London on March 31st.
02:52But as the impact of the coronavirus continues to spread internationally,
02:56a group of fans who have already endured three sets of delays have now urged producers Eon
03:01and distributors MGM and Universal to push the release until the summer.
03:05History isn't kind to men who play God.
03:08In an open letter, writers for the biggest Bond fan blog, the MI6HQ website,
03:13said that the company should put public health above marketing release schedules.
03:17Co-written by James Page, co-founder of the website, and David Lee, founder of the James Bond dossier,
03:22the letter applauded the decision to cancel the film's publicity tours in China, South Korea, and Japan,
03:28and postpone its release in Hong Kong until April 30th.
03:31But looking at a potential hit on the film's box office haul,
03:34the letter stated that the developed nations that have banned or restricted large public gatherings
03:39to contain the community spread of coronavirus, including Italy, France, Switzerland, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Korea,
03:46amounted to 38 percent of the total global earnings of the last Bond movie.
03:51The letter also anticipated how the virus could spread in the U.S.,
03:54causing cinemas to close or at least see reduced attendance.
