00:00welcome to marvel and mysteries my name is tracy and thank you so much for joining me
00:14i hope that you like the last video music tunes that make you go hmm and that is helping you to
00:20reconsider what you're listening to on a daily basis and what you're feeding your mind body
00:25spirit and soul while listening to it and today i am excited to share this because it is a powerful
00:31testimony of how flesh under bondage meets with the supernatural power of god and how all things
00:40do work together for the good of those who love him and are called according to his purpose and
00:45that my friend is you so if you struggle with any kind of bondage in particular smoking cigarettes
00:53and this is going to be a good episode for you because i am celebrating an anniversary it was in
01:00november a total of 13 years ago that i finally stopped smoking cigarettes and it was a full year
01:08later that i entirely stopped nicotine altogether after i kind of coasted in at the end using a vape
01:15pen kind of situation so let me just share with you i want this to inspire you and to give you courage
01:22that yes you can do this it's not in your own strength you do it with the lord but you can
01:27and i'll share how it happened so when i started smoking it was not a pleasant thing i didn't even like
01:36it but it just kind of clicked and i wasn't realizing that when you're smoking that it is bondage in a few
01:43different ways it ends up where it's it's body soul and spirit because your body gets addicted
01:51to the nicotine and to some of the other just muscle memory that happens and for you who have
01:58quit smoking you know that sometimes you can't help initially but to grab anything that looked like a
02:03cigarette and try to smoke the thing when you're trying to quit so back in the day when i started it
02:09ended up being of course the physical issue with the addiction and then my soul gets got engaged with
02:17it and that's what happens your soul gets engaged because it is kind of like a feel-good thing you're
02:22reading a book having a cup of coffee it's like these things go together and it just becomes very
02:29enjoyable it's almost like a reward and then spiritually speaking you're dealing with bondage
02:36it is a bondage it is an enslavement like any other type of slavery where you are under the yoke
02:43of something that you're just not to be under and for some folks it can just flat out kind of become an
02:50idol and so for a long time for years and years and years i smoked i enjoyed it and at the time that i
03:00stopped i was at three packs a day think in today's dollars what that would cost you know we complain
03:09about certain coffee and how much how expensive that is but oh my goodness it just is a financial
03:16thief constantly because you have to keep up with it and you have to keep smoking and all of that
03:22so at the time i was at three packs a day and i worked from home so i could go in and out all day
03:30long it didn't matter i could just enjoy and for me at the time and a lot of this was before the lord
03:37i was messy like a lot of people are when you first come to the lord and you're still smoking and doing
03:44your stuff whatever that is until holy spirit helps you get cleaned up and get you out of all the
03:51chains that you've been surrounded in your whole life and then you can be free of those things but
03:56at that time of course i was a little bit messy still there just full disclosure but at when i stopped
04:03initially because i did try to stop i had gone through all of the prayer i had gone through a set
04:11of circumstances where i um basically went through like a deliverance for it i went home i washed out all
04:18my ashtrays i threw them all away and it wasn't but two weeks later that i really was struggling
04:26because there are those physical changes that happen in your body and those of you who have
04:32smoked before can go ahead and have a good giggle because you know what i'm talking about
04:35and there are certain things that are just not as easy to do if you don't have a cup of coffee and a
04:41cigarette in the morning i'm just gonna leave it there
04:42and so i backslid and i went and i picked up the smoking again and of course i was able to do
04:52what i normally was able to do before in order to get on a plane to come home for christmas because
04:57you don't want to feel yucky in you know how many thousand feet up in the air so when i came back home
05:06i just thought i i can't do this to myself anymore and those of you who have tried to stop repeatedly
05:13you know what i'm talking about because you just beat yourself up and then when you go from
05:20like cold turkey quit to a few weeks later you pick it right back up you feel as if you have wasted all
05:28that time and you put your body through the crazy stuff you put your soul through the crazy stuff
05:35and your spirit is still trying to be in charge and trying to lead you out of the bondage
05:41but the rest of you is driving the car at that point you're just happy smoking so once i realized
05:48that the smoking the five minute breaks that i got between things was really like a false sense of
05:56peace it was a false sense of calm they were built in breaks for me pretty much that's how i saw it
06:03and i really enjoyed smoking then and it was a guaranteed few minutes of just being by myself
06:11being outside and enjoying the cigarette so to speak and then just letting the time pass by and
06:18then feeling this sense of peace it wasn't really peace but it felt kind of like peace after i got born
06:26again it was like oh okay now i understand the difference there's a big difference but i don't
06:33know what your journey was like coming out of smoking so my goodness by all means share share in the
06:40comments send me an email let me know because it is a process for some other folks it's deliverance
06:48inside of two seconds and it's fine but my journey started really when i i first gave up the actual
06:57smoking of cigarettes because i traded out a vape and i was using a vape and there was a man god bless
07:06this guy he was at the local flea market and he actually had a dea license and he could mix the kind of
07:14the liquid for the vapes and so when i would go to see him he would say now you want to quit smoking
07:22right so we're going to drop you down a level from last last week's nicotine right and i would say yes
07:29and then i would end up praying for him so it was kind of funny it was it was sort of like this
07:33interesting trade-off he would always be reminding me that i said and my heart's desire was to actually
07:40quit and stop and that i needed to be responsible and proactively step down on my nicotine levels
07:47and then every week i was talking to him about the lord and and praying through various things in his
07:53life so it was this very cool kind of relationship that that we had going on but he did he really helped
08:00me to reduce the nicotine so that i wasn't spazzing out all the time if i didn't have it
08:05but he sold really nice vapes they were like the cadillac vapes they they don't look like those
08:12chunky things that they sell now i'm like what is that it looks like a piece of electrical housing
08:19for wires when you're putting a receptacle someplace with like like a tip on it you know
08:25but these were just very elegant looking and i had um at the time and this would have been
08:32nearing november nearing november of 2013 i had three of them the last one i had just purchased
08:43a couple of weeks ago and i was really praying and and i thought lord what do you want me to really do
08:50because i really enjoy this and i need this to stop i know that smoking the cigarettes those marlboros
08:56for all those years is not good and i also i can't just assume that the vapes are going to be
09:02healthy just because it's not the 69 carcinogens or whatever that get um that kind of happened because
09:09of the processing of tobacco or something like that uh so what can i do what can i do because i really do
09:16want to quit and i know that i lack the willpower to be able to do this uh so could you help me could
09:23you help me because boy i just really enjoyed it and so my answer came very quickly the next week
09:32and i had a neighbor of mine who just kind of mentioned to me she went hey you know i was
09:38praying to the lord for you and the lord out of nowhere he just said to me sorry i'm doing her accent
09:45very badly but he said tracy can quit smoking anytime she wants to and honestly those words
09:56that was music to my ears to my heart and everything else because i thought okay this is the word of the
10:01lord coming my neighbor didn't know i was praying about that specifically and like lord i really need
10:06your help and so god told her and that came straight from the lord the lord says you can stop
10:13smoking anytime you want and i just thought oh that was so good that was so so good the backdrop of all
10:21of this just to clue you in was i was at a time that i also didn't know if i was going to move back
10:29home or not my income had been reduced by 50 kind of more or less against my will and at that time
10:38i just knew that if i didn't figure this out quickly i was either going to lose my home or i was
10:46going to have to sell and go rent or do something or move back home and honestly moving back home
10:52wasn't actually on my radar but it was another point that i was praying about and kind of like okay god
11:00i will do whatever it is that you tell me to do i want to be obedient to you so this is the backdrop
11:05i've got 50 the income that i had the clock is ticking the funds are going to run out what am i
11:14doing what do i need to do so the day that my neighbor told me i think was a saturday i'm pretty
11:22sure it was a saturday because this ended up being such a quick kind of turnaround so it was the next
11:29week and i'm thinking oh okay you know i can quit smoking anytime i want like thank you lord for
11:37that i was still thanking him for that word and i was praying you know do you want me to move home
11:43like what what do i need to do so that morning and it was definitely a saturday morning when i woke up
11:50and was praying about that because i heard the lord say all right you're gonna you know get up get ready
11:57you're going to publix you know the grocery store chain and i didn't shop at publix like i couldn't
12:04afford publix no that would like i was going to anderson some of you guys are gonna know
12:08anderson's and like oh no not anderson's albertson's okay see how it's been a while
12:14albertson's winn-dixie like those were those were the level i was i was able to afford so i'm
12:19thinking publix like why do i gotta go to get public why do i why do i have to go to publix
12:24and he said you're gonna get boxes and i was like boxes and he says yes so that you can move
12:35and i thought okay all right okay very good all right let's do this so i get myself together
12:42i scoop up all of my vapes the grocery store was like a mile and a half away and i'm like a
12:50stinking girl scout i brought all of my vapes i brought the chargers i brought backup liquid
12:58like i'm going for approximately five minutes but i'm planning to accidentally get lost and spend five
13:04years at publix apparently and so i had everything with me but i'm kind of thinking i'm half crazy like
13:10did i really hear the lord say that did he really say get boxes am i really moving and like all all of
13:17that so i'm in my car and i'm having this conversation with myself i'm like man i don't know
13:23you know maybe i'm just making stuff up as i go along and all the things that you go through
13:27uh when you're when you're trying to be obedient to the lord and you just really want his voice you
13:33really just want his will and and not your own so as soon as i'm like oh gosh you know god is this
13:39really you i pulled up to a stoplight at that was on the outskirts of my little plan and right there
13:47going by in slow-mo was this semi tractor trailer it was a publix truck with this giant bouquet of
13:57flowers on the side of it and it just looks so celebratory and i thought like okay god okay fine
14:03fine fine fine and i was so excited and because i was so excited about what i just saw i'm immediately
14:11grabbing for a vape because i'm like oh my gosh because i was excited and and and if you're a
14:17smoker and stuff gets exciting you're you're liable to pick one up right then so i go to puff on my
14:24vape and there's nothing there's nothing there's no like the light on this one did not come on
14:31and nothing came out there was nothing and i'm thinking huh that's funny you know because i keep
14:39them all charged all the time i keep them clean they're pretty okay i take care of my things like
14:46they're nice and so i grabbed the second one and i'm still like oh this is so amazing and i'm still
14:54driving there and sure enough that one didn't work either and when i got to the next little stop sign
15:00where i was waiting my turn i'm hurrying up and i'm disconnecting and reconnecting bits and pieces
15:06of these vapes plugging it into my charger and i'm seeing that the lights are showing green like yeah
15:12we're fully charged but do you think any of them worked no not one all three of them even the one that
15:19i just bought dead so i think wow that's a little strange and i get to the publics and i walk in the
15:28front doors and i'm like okay lord now what and he goes walk to the back of the store so that's what
15:34i did and it was like it was like a stinking movie i'm telling you so i get to the back of the store
15:40and there's like the double doors kind of open where they would go in to do the um stock you know
15:46stock or uh the like the meat area that sort of thing and out from these doors walks this guy
15:54who is blonde hair bright blue eyes bright blue shirt really tall and he just walks directly to
16:02me and is like can i help you with anything and i'm just looking at this dude like are you a dude
16:09or are you an angel of the lord i don't really know and i said i'm looking for boxes and he's like
16:16okay let me see what i can do and he disappeared behind the doors and i'm just sitting there still
16:23trying to figure out what the heck is going on with my vapes and it wasn't that long and he comes
16:29out with a cart full of boxes and like nice boxes and you know and you know you're getting older when
16:36you're like that's a really nice box i'm not gonna throw that away i might use that again it was a whole
16:42cart of those okay so i leave and i go home all the way home i'm both thankful because of what the
16:51lord is doing and he's answering my prayers and all that and i'm also like what is going on with my
16:56vapes and when i get back home then i'm going through everything and nothing is working nothing
17:04and i'm like oh oh goodness oh goodness is today the day and then i was kind of half beating myself
17:11up because the word of the lord was that i could quit smoking anytime i wanted it wasn't the time he
17:19wanted so i realized that in all of my zeal and my excitement because he told me i could quit
17:26whenever i wanted to that deep down inside of me i must have said yeah just give me like one more week
17:33to smoke because it was like seven days that i was still able to have my vape and i was flipped out
17:42and i went through my belongings and i found a few of the they were like a kind of like a single use
17:50like it might only have uh might be the equivalent of like maybe 10 cigarettes or something like that
17:55i had a couple of those sort of set aside because i was just really good with making sure i was prepared
18:02for anything and i dug those out and they didn't work either i think one of them i got like one puff or
18:09something like that so it was like all my vapes all my beautiful equipment done i had to throw out
18:16everything and i remember standing at the garbage can and it was crazy because i was so relieved and
18:24so thankful because on some level i knew this is done in my life and this is over and the lord did this
18:32like he really truly did this and then the other part of me was like but i really like that i really
18:40enjoyed that and i gotta throw out my most precious thing kind of a feeling but i did it i put them in
18:48the trash and i said okay jesus it's you and me here we go you're really gonna have to help me with this
18:56because oh my goodness did i really love and enjoy smoking and for the next it was about three three to
19:04five days i would be at work consistently trying to reach for the vape that was not there and that was
19:15that muscle memory it was difficult to break it really it really was and i struggled and i i i prayed
19:23i prayed i prayed a lot and i sang to the lord a lot that's kind of what i did during that time was
19:31consistently ask for his help and sing to him and worship him and read and i kept myself in
19:41everything of the lord and i had such a great time and then for the first time ever i went on an actual
19:49car trip a little road trip by myself to a conference and this was the first trip since
19:57very early on oh my gosh i can't even remember when i started smoking probably like 97 perhaps
20:05somewhere around there and this was the first car trip that i had been on where i wouldn't have that
20:13and so i sang to the lord the whole way there and the whole way back and i have never gone back and
20:21it is amazing when you have that rhema word from the lord and you partner it with your obedience even
20:30when you struggle your obedience to please him and also to take care of yourself at that point
20:37it's a powerful combination because you're you're mixing your faith and you're doing a physical act
20:45of obedience so that's going to activate a spiritual reality in your life and i've never gone back
20:52and it's interesting because now if i have dreams and the dreams are about like if there's if there's
21:00smoking like in the dream or maybe i have a cigarette in my hand or something i know that it's not
21:06oh no and you must want to smoke again it's not that it's just the lord showing me okay your stress
21:13levels have gotten a bit too high and now you need to kind of taper that back you know be be in prayer
21:20be in my presence to deal with that and then when you're in his presence then you get to that point
21:27where you have the incense you have from the throne you have that kind of atmosphere and that's what's
21:34filling your lungs as opposed to something that is a carcinogen or all of these other chemicals that
21:41come from the vapes but it's that word from the lord that helped me and i sincerely wanted to be done
21:50it's just kind of funny because like jesus said the spirit is willing and the flesh is weak
21:57when my neighbor said tracy the lord said you can quit anytime i'm sure my spirit woman was like
22:03you know like okay this is great let's do this thing now and then the rest of me was like oh
22:10and since the lord said anytime i wanted um the the body kind of got in the way my flesh
22:19my soul kind of got in the way of that but only a week later i was able to put things before the lord
22:27and have that broken off my life once for all and it's so wonderful and it's so nice to be free of
22:36all of that and not have to worry about it and goodness it's never mind the health issues it's
22:44so expensive like oh my goodness it's ridiculous so i pray that this helped you that this inspired you
22:53of just one person's story of how it happened and it wasn't your typical i quit cold turkey
23:01and i don't know i've heard all kinds of different things like snapping yourself with rubber bands and
23:07like just different things to make sure that you don't do it again this was this was spiritual this
23:13was physical this had to do with my soul all of this works together and you go before the lord with
23:21it and he will help you in your three levels of existence because spirit soul body he will help
23:30you on all three of those so for some of you you're gonna take this because you felt the lord go
23:37yeah it's time for you others you're gonna listen to it you're gonna take it in and it just might not
23:44be the time yet don't beat yourself up if it's not because when it is and you know that your spirit
23:53goes yes then your flesh is just gonna have to come right behind you a little kicking and screaming
24:00maybe but it'll come as will your soul so i want to pray quickly for you and just to thank the lord
24:10because lord has been such a long time that you've delivered me from this type of bondage and this
24:18slavery to cigarettes to vapes to all of that and i pray for my brothers and sisters that lord
24:27when their heart is ready that nothing would enslave them never mind cigarettes it could be anything else
24:34that might be enslaving you that lord with them i stand with them to put whatever that thing is upon
24:43your altar and that lord that you are dealing with that you're dealing with the idol involved
24:50you're dealing with any bondage or any unclean spirits that came with it that you are establishing
24:59my brother and sister in you lord that you are the spirit that inhabits them that you are the wind
25:07in their lungs that you are the breath you are the pneuma and we exist in the pneuma aletheia the spirit realm
25:16that lord you would deal with their bondage and their chains that they would renounce that
25:24in being in that bondage and being enslaved or addicted to cigarettes or whatever it may be
25:32that they are adopted to sonship that we receive the ecstasis from the most high god
25:39we receive the energos you know the energy we receive that which you are lord and that you are the one who
25:48fills us completely and fully that we are filled by the power of holy spirit the very resurrection power
25:57of the lord and that is what we walk in and that we break those shackles and we break those fetters
26:04in jesus's name and that we worship you lord and we give you the struggles we give you the cravings we give
26:15you everything that goes along with wrestling out of bondage and we ask for total freedom we ask to be
26:24set free to never have to go back to any of those things ever again and to be able to simply share
26:32our story and share our testimony with others that they may do it again because gosh the testimony of
26:39jesus is the spirit of prophecy and that if you're feeling even that right now kind of that sense of
26:46your your hair standing on end it's because the lord jesus christ he is no respecter of persons he did
26:52it for me he'll do it for you it might not be the exact same way but he will do it he is not a man that
26:58he should lie and you can trust him so lord i pray for the right time for my brother and sisters
27:05that they can be free too in jesus's name amen thank you so much for watching and please
