Jesus gives rest to people who are tired of acting as though they have everything under control.

Perhaps you are doing what needs to be done, but your heart is running low. You keep answering calls, meeting deadlines, caring for others, and pushing through the day, yet part of you longs for one quiet moment where you do not have to be the strong one.

The invitation of Jesus is deeply personal: bring Him the burden instead of hiding it.

This faith-based message explores what it means to receive daily grace rather than trying to carry tomorrow before it arrives. Jesus teaches us to ask for daily bread because God provides strength in real time. He gives wisdom for the conversation in front of you, patience for the decision you must make, and courage for the next part of the road.

Your weariness does not make you a disappointment. Your questions do not cancel your faith. Your need for help does not reduce your value.

Peter makes serious mistakes, yet Jesus restores him and gives him meaningful work to do. In the same way, one failure, difficult season, or painful chapter does not get to define your entire life.

Let this video help you slow down, release unnecessary pressure, and remember that God is present in ordinary moments. You are allowed to rest, begin again, and believe that good things can still grow from where you are today.

00:00You know, I got up early this morning and I had to remind myself of something.
00:07Doug, you are not carrying today alone.
00:11Because, you know, some mornings feel heavier than others.
00:15You wake up thinking about everything that still needs your attention.
00:19There are responsibilities waiting.
00:23Conversations you still need to have.
00:26Bills that need to be paid.
00:29People depending on you.
00:32And questions you still cannot answer.
00:35Even so, you get up.
00:38You keep moving.
00:40You keep showing up.
00:42That says something good about you.
00:45It means there is still courage in you.
00:49Even when you do not feel especially strong.
00:53It means hope is still present.
00:55Even if it looks smaller today.
00:58Than it did yesterday.
01:01What you need to hear today is simple.
01:05You do not have to carry everything alone.
01:10It's true.
01:19That's not a warning.
01:22It's an invitation.
01:23Jesus is not standing in the distance waiting for you to become stronger.
01:29He is not asking you to solve every problem before approaching him.
01:33He does not require a perfect attitude, a polished prayer, or a complete plan.
01:42He simply says,
01:45He simply says,
01:45Come to me.
01:47Come with questions.
01:49Come with unfinished work.
01:52Come with the concern that keeps returning.
01:56Come with the hope you are trying to hold on to.
02:01Jesus meets people where they are, not where they think they should be.
02:07Throughout the Gospels, people come to him in many ways with many different conditions.
02:14Some are afraid.
02:16Some are grieving.
02:18Some are confused.
02:20Some have made mistakes.
02:23Some do not even know exactly what to ask for.
02:27They come anyway.
02:30And so should you.
02:32Jesus does not turn them away because they are still figuring life out.
02:37He listens.
02:39He teaches.
02:41He restores.
02:43He gives people another step forward.
02:46That is encouraging because all of us are unfinished.
02:51You may still be learning how to trust again.
02:54You may be still finding your confidence after a difficult season.
03:00You may still be waiting for an answer.
03:03You may still be working through something you thought would be resolved by now.
03:10None of that means that God has forgotten you.
03:14Growth often happens slowly.
03:17Healing often comes one day at a time.
03:21Some prayers are answered through a process rather than a single moment.
03:27Jesus remains patient through the process.
03:31I want you to think about Peter.
03:34Now, Peter loves Jesus.
03:37But he also makes mistakes.
03:40He speaks too quickly.
03:42Misunderstands what is happening.
03:44Becomes frightened.
03:46And eventually denies knowing Jesus.
03:50That failure could become the end of his story.
03:55But it does not.
03:56After the resurrection, Jesus meets Peter again on a beach.
04:03He does not reduce Peter to his worst moment.
04:07He restores him and gives him meaningful work to do.
04:11Now, Peter's failure is real, but so is his future.
04:16That lesson belongs to you as well.
04:21A mistake can teach you without defining you.
04:24A setback can redirect you without destroying you.
04:29A difficult season can shape you without becoming your entire story.
04:34Jesus sees more than where you have been.
04:38He sees where grace can lead you next.
04:42So, instead of asking yourself to carry the rest of your life today, focus on the next faithful step.
04:51Maybe that step is making one phone call.
04:55Maybe it's finishing one task.
04:59Maybe it's asking for help instead of pretending you are fine.
05:03Maybe it's resting long enough to think clearly.
05:08Maybe it's forgiving yourself for not having every answer.
05:13Maybe it is praying one honest sentence.
05:18Something like,
05:20Jesus, lead me through today.
05:24Now, that prayer is enough to begin.
05:27You do not need strength for every future challenge right now.
05:33You need grace for the part of the road that is directly in front of you.
05:39And Jesus teaches us to ask for daily bread.
05:43That means we can trust God for what today requires,
05:48without trying to carry tomorrow before it arrives.
05:52Tomorrow will have its own grace.
05:55Today has grace too.
05:58And sometimes we miss that grace because we're waiting for something dramatic.
06:04We expect help to arrive as a sudden breakthrough,
06:08a complete answer,
06:10or a problem just disappearing overnight.
06:16You know what?
06:18Thankfully,
06:19sometimes it does.
06:21But often,
06:23grace appears quietly.
06:26It may be the right words during a difficult conversation.
06:30It may be the patience to respond instead of react.
06:35It may be the courage to try again.
06:38It may be a friend who checks on you at the right time.
06:42Or maybe a new idea,
06:46an unexpected opportunity,
06:48or a moment of peace that reminds you that you are going to be all right.
06:54Small mercy is still mercy.
06:58A small step forward,
07:00it's still movement.
07:02A small amount of hope is still enough to begin.
07:07Jesus often works through ordinary moments.
07:11He meets people on roads,
07:13beside water,
07:15around tables,
07:16and inside homes.
07:19He meets you in ordinary places too.
07:23He meets you during the drive to work.
07:26He meets you while you're making dinner.
07:29He meets you while you sit quietly before the day begins.
07:34He meets you when you take a breath,
07:36and decide that today will not be ruled by fear.
07:42You do not have to feel powerful for God to be working in your life.
07:48You do not have to feel certain in order to take the next step.
07:54Faith is not always a loud declaration.
07:57You know, sometimes faith is quietly saying,
08:01I am going to keep going,
08:04because Jesus is still with me.
08:07Now, there is more ahead of you than what you can see from where you stand today.
08:13There are people you have not met yet.
08:16There are opportunities you do not know about.
08:20There are answers already moving toward you in ways you cannot yet recognize.
08:28There are parts of you still growing stronger.
08:32There are prayers still unfolding.
08:35Do not judge your entire future by one difficult day.
08:41Today may be demanding,
08:43but it is not empty.
08:46God can use this day to give you wisdom,
08:50patience, clarity, and courage.
08:54He can help you recognize what matters,
08:58release what does not belong to you,
09:00and move toward what is good.
09:04You are allowed to be hopeful.
09:07You are allowed to believe that something can change.
09:11You are allowed to begin again,
09:13even if you have begun again many times before.
09:20Jesus is not disappointed that you need him.
09:24Needing him is part of the relationship he invites you into.
09:28He says,
09:30Come to me,
09:31because he wants you near.
09:35He wants to give you rest for your mind,
09:39steadiness for your heart,
09:41and strength for your next step.
09:45So, breathe deeply.
09:47Look at what is directly in front of you.
09:52Do the next good thing you know to do.
09:57Let people help you.
10:00Notice the small gifts in the day.
10:03Trust that you do not have to understand the entire path
10:07to take one more faithful step.
10:12You are not behind.
10:14You are not forgotten.
10:16You are not without purpose.
10:19You are not facing today alone.
10:24Jesus is still with you,
10:26and there is still good ahead.
10:32truth.
10:34My name is Douglas Van der Graaff,
10:36and I believe in Jesus Christ.
10:40God bless every single one of you.
10:44Every single one.
10:48Bye-bye.
