00:00Welcome to Marvel and Mysteries. My name is Tracy. Thanks so much for joining me again.

00:14And this is part four in a series on the spiritual senses. So, just to make sure that you know to

00:19watch the other ones, there is See Through Scent, Taste and See, and Ears to Hear. And today,

00:26you are going to learn about the spiritual sense of touch. It's important to remember that we have

00:32five senses in the natural. Those five physical senses help us to navigate the world that is

00:37around us. And the unseen world around us that we cannot see with the naked eye, well, that's where

00:44our spiritual senses come into play. And that is designed by God to be able to help you discern

00:51good from evil and the movements and the things that are going on around you in the spirit.

00:56We were made in the image of God, and every day we are being transformed more and more to function

01:02and to be like Him. 1 Corinthians 2.14, and this is kind of my paraphrase, is that people that don't

01:09have the Spirit of God don't have the capacity to understand what He is doing and when He is

01:15revealing things. They just consider it to be foolishness because you need the Spirit of God

01:20to discern what God is doing in the first place. And then 1 Corinthians 6.17 says that he who is

01:27united with the Lord is one Spirit with Him, and that is what we need to remember always.

01:33We are one Spirit with the living God, and it is His good pleasure to show us what He's doing.

01:40He calls us friends. So, this is part of that, and this is part of being able to function like Him.

01:45When I was transferred out of the dominion of darkness, and it really is the dominion of darkness,

01:51and we may not even realize it, but when you get born again, and even that terminology has

01:58been so mired and thrown out. Like if you say, I'm born again, that puts you in a certain basket

02:04that the world considers to be crazy or whatever else. But you literally get transferred out of the

02:12dominion of darkness into the kingdom of His beloved Son. And when that happens, the scales

02:19come off of your eyes. Everything that was obscured from you when you were in the dominion of darkness

02:26begins to get revealed to you. You start to understand there's so much more happening in

02:32the world around you. And I'm not just referring to a demon seeing a demon or seeing an angel or

02:38something like that. You begin to recognize a structure that has been formed and built around

02:45us that is not from the Lord. But then you also see the Lord in His fullness and His structures that

02:53are around us that are there to help us. It really is a kingdom of the Most High God.

02:59And the most important thing that we can remember in this is Hebrews 5.14, which says,

03:05solid food is for the mature, who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern

03:13both good and evil. Or discern is another word for to distinguish, to distinguish between

03:19good and evil. And it's that that we need to keep in mind through all of this is that as you're

03:27growing, you know, you might get the kingdom bazooka on day one, but you don't know how to use it yet,

03:32right? So you grow into being able to use that kind of power and the fullness of who He is. It's

03:39something that we mature into into sons of God to the point where you experientially know the Lord.

03:46It's beyond just what is written in the Bible. And you start to really understand who He is and who

03:53you are in Him. So in this topic of touch, I wanted to go through some of these more standard ways that

04:01we would be familiar with. If you follow the Lord for any amount of time, or you've been

04:05in a church service or something like that, you're going to be familiar with certain

04:09touch. And I'm starting here in this case with the physical ones that do have a spiritual

04:14connotation to them. So we are familiar with the laying on of hands. We're familiar with the Great

04:20Commission because it says that believers will lay hands on the sick and they will recover.

04:26There will be that healing that moves through their physical touch. So even though it's a

04:31physical thing, on a spiritual level, they're getting healed. So you have that. You have the

04:37laying on of hands for the conveyance of authority, for receiving Holy Spirit, for blessing, for anointing,

04:45and that sort of thing. So we're all familiar with that. And some of the examples that we would see

04:50in Scripture, let me just look at my notes. If you go to Mark 1, 41 and 42, I like the Gospel of Mark

04:56because it's like action Jesus. It's always like, suddenly, next! And it's like, bam, bam, bam. So

05:01I particularly like that Gospel. I like to read it because it rolls out like it's some kind of movie.

05:07Oh my goodness. But Mark 1, 41, 42, you'll see that Jesus is moved with compassion for a leper who is

05:16saying like, if you're willing, I can be cleansed. And the Lord says, I am willing. And He reaches out

05:23and He touches him and He says, be cleansed. And He is healed then from that leprosy. So we see the

05:31Lord in His compassion, which you see so much in Scripture. His compassion moved Him and He would

05:37reach out. He would touch someone. And we need to remember that we do that all the time. When there

05:42is someone who is having a hard day and they're talking to us or they've suffered a loss, we

05:47oftentimes will automatically reach out and lay our hand on their hand like, I hear you. I'm with you

05:55in this. I understand and I'm listening to you. We're heart to heart right now. And it's so powerful

06:02to remember to do that because that touch brings so much healing. If we go to Luke 6, 19, you're going

06:10to see something similar because it says that the crowd, and this was similar to some of the other

06:16scriptures as well, like the woman with the issue of blood. But what it is saying in Luke 6, 19 is that

06:22the crowd set themselves to touch Jesus for power came out of Him and healed them all. And when you

06:31look at the actual scripture and you look at the Greek and everything else, it is the dunamis power to

06:37heal diseases that was coming out of Him. This proceeds from Jesus. You are made in His image

06:44and likeness, which means healing proceeds from you too. Power proceeds from you too. So, we have to

06:50remember that, that we also walk in these things. And now we're going to look at touch from a spiritual

06:59sense. But there's one example that I love, and I just kind of mentioned it, just referenced it from

07:05the scripture, the woman with the issue of blood. And what is so cool about her set of circumstances

07:10is that she was already getting ready to go. Like, she knows Jesus is in town. She's getting ready to

07:17go find Him. And she's saying to herself, if I only can touch the hem of His garment, I will be healed.

07:24And the beautiful thing is, think about this. Okay, so that's her faith. That's her faith.

07:30Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not yet seen, right? So,

07:37her faith is a substance. Her faith had already reached out. So, her faith was already going for

07:43it. And then she makes the physical connection with Jesus and bam, the virtue comes out of Him.

07:50And He's like, whoa, somebody touched me. And of course, that's when the disciples were like,

07:53well, everyone is touching you, okay? So, look at how powerful that is. Her faith reaches out

07:59and basically takes a hold of Him before her fingers even hit His garment. And then wham,

08:05you've got that both in operation, the physical touch and the spiritual touch by faith being that

08:11substance. I love that so much. It's so cool. But in terms of spiritual touch, what I want to direct

08:19you to first is Daniel 10. And there are lots of different encounters throughout the Bible. So,

08:26I just recommend that you go and look all of these up and really dig into them. And Daniel 10 is just

08:33incredible anyway. It's a good place to spend a day to just go in Daniel and read through it. But in

08:39Daniel 10, he is at the banks of the Tigris River with his men. And as he's standing there,

08:46he looks up and he starts to see this supernatural being. Like he's having this like, oh my goodness,

08:52here comes this supernatural being. Now, the curious thing is, he's seeing this happen.

08:59His men do not see it at all. But a great terror hits them and they take off running and they go hide.

09:06So, Daniel's left there. All his dudes split on him. And he's sitting there and he's looking at this

09:14being that's coming like, ugh. And so, when the being comes, when this angelic messenger comes and

09:20starts to talk to him, Daniel ends up, it says that he goes into this deep sleep. And I'm thinking

09:26like, I need to look up the word study on this because he probably passed out, you know, because

09:30it's probably like too overwhelming for his whole system. But he's on the ground. And it actually says

09:37that the being reached out, like touched him and set him up on his knees. And he set up on his knees

09:43trembling. And then eventually he even tells him to stand up. And it's just such a unique encounter

09:50anyway. You should check it out because he rolls out everything the Lord's going to do

09:54in great detail. And this is the whole passage where it's like the fighting against the Prince

09:59of Persia. Michael, the archangel, is sent in to deal with these guys so that the full message can

10:04actually come to Daniel about what is to come. So, it's an amazing, amazing passage. You'll get so

10:09much more out of it. So, go check that out. But another example that all of you will be familiar

10:14with is from Isaiah 6 because in Isaiah, he has just seen the Lord. So, the guy is undone.

10:22He has just seen the Lord. And when you're in the presence of the Lord, anything that isn't like him

10:27becomes really obvious to you. And it's not in a condemning way. You just, it's like you're suddenly

10:32very self-aware, like, oh, like, I thought I was very, you know, very good, very holy, very whatever.

10:40And then you're like, oh. So, anyway, Isaiah is standing there. And after this happens, he says,

10:47woe is to me for I am undone because I am a man of unclean lips and I live in the midst of a people

10:55of unclean lips. And a seraphim goes over and grabs a coal, a live coal from the altar, and he touches

11:02Isaiah's mouth with it. And the seraphim tells him that with that, that his iniquity has been

11:11taken away from him and his sin has been purged. And this is right before the classic, beautiful,

11:18well, who shall we send? And he's like, here I am, Lord, send me. You know, here I am, send me.

11:24And in that, he is being sent out to deliver a really tough word to the people. But he gets

11:31cleansed beforehand. And this is the importance of dealing with iniquity. The sum total of all of

11:38Isaiah's junk from himself, from his mom's side, his dad's side, and everybody back, all the sum total

11:46and accumulation of all the ways that they've missed the mark and sin and everything else,

11:52all of that gets dealt with. Boom. Iniquity is gone. So, that fuel, that fuel that is a substance,

11:59iniquity is also a substance. Faith is a substance, and iniquity is also a substance.

12:04And that stuff, there's a lot of yuck that can run off of that. And so, that gets dealt with. So,

12:10he gets sent out then to prophesy, and he's just absolutely pure. His sins are purged. His iniquity

12:16is dealt with. So, just a cool thing for you guys to pray into. And lastly, I want to go through

12:22a couple of experience that I have had, just so you can kind of see how some of this stuff would

12:27function just in everyday life. Some of this stuff is scary. Some of this stuff is funny.

12:33And then some of it is just, I mean, it's just a blessing from the Lord, because you are made in

12:37His image and likeness. And so, we are learning and growing to be able to function like Him.

12:43So, the first time that I had this happen, I was in a prayer room in this little ministry.

12:50And it was a big room, big open room, and there was no ceiling fans, nothing hanging from the

12:57ceiling, just your classic fluorescent light flat sort of thing. There were chairs that were all

13:02around the outside of the room because it would be used for different prayer meetings and things

13:06like that. So, I'm in this room. I was early, so I had the room to myself to just pray and worship

13:13and all of this other stuff. And I was just singing to the Lord and dancing, and I had a lot of space

13:17because there's nothing in the room. So, as I'm in the middle of praying and proclaiming,

13:24my hand went up like this. Like, it just went like, real quick. And I smacked something so hard,

13:32and I felt it. And I went like, ooh! And I turned around, and I had no idea what it was.

13:38But whatever it was, I mean, it almost felt like you could feel like tissue and dimension to whatever

13:45it was. I don't know if I accidentally smacked my angel in the face. I don't know exactly what it

13:52was. I apologize because I kind of figured it was probably my angel who was also enraptured in

14:00worship with me, and then I basically socked him in the face, poor guy. But that was the first time

14:06when I went, oh, okay, all right, I just ran into something solid. And there's nothing in this room

14:12at all because it's a big open space, a big open room. There's nothing I could have run into. So,

14:17that was the first time. And then over the years, we kind of, we read these scriptures,

14:21and we just have a tendency to accidentally blow them off because we've been trained by the world

14:26instead of Holy Spirit. So, this scripture from Hebrews, he makes his angels winds, his ministering

14:33spirits flames of fire. And you go, okay, that's interesting. I wonder what that's about.

14:38And we just chalk it up to poetic imagery or something like that. But what it really is is

14:46that those ministering spirits of the Lord being flames of fire, oh my goodness, I can't tell you

14:51the number of times I've been at home or at the grocery store in a meeting, not in a meeting,

14:56wherever, and all of a sudden, I will feel the radiant heat of a ministering spirit completely up

15:03and down usually one side of my body, wherever it happens to be standing. I would feel that. And

15:10it's wonderful because it's such a beautiful radiant heat. It's not something that is scary,

15:16but you clearly know it's there and you clearly know that it's going on. And so, those ministering

15:22spirits, a lot of you may have experienced that and you just don't know maybe what it is. And so,

15:28I just want to encourage you with that. And another time where an angel of the Lord was able to help me

15:35so that I didn't smack myself real good. And think about Psalm 91, that they're lifting us up in their

15:42hands lest we would dash our foot against a stone, right? We say it all the time, we pray it all the

15:46time, but then we don't realize that it really does happen. And in this case, I was standing outside of

15:52a church and I was talking to some folks and I was sharing a testimony with them and I'm animated.

15:58So, I was telling my story to these folks and I was going to take a step backwards. And I didn't take

16:06the step fully backwards. I had started to like with all of my might and I'm so glad that I didn't

16:12because there was a parking bollard right behind me, like one of those big cement like pole things to

16:18keep cars from going into the front of buildings. There was one of those behind me. Had I stepped

16:23back all the way, I would have been so hurt in my lower back because I would have nailed this thing.

16:28But instead, I go to step back and I get this boop, this push forward. And I honestly thought it was

16:35one of my brothers messing around. So, I turned around because I figured I'm going to punch somebody

16:39in the arm, whoever pushed and shoved me. But there was nobody there. There was nothing there but the

16:44parking bollard. Nothing there. And I thought, oh my gosh, I almost just nailed that thing and I would

16:51have been really, really, really hurt. So, that was like, whew, that was such a relief. So, they really

16:58do that. And they'll warn me sometimes by, I joke, I'm like, what is up with the Pillsbury doughboy

17:07thing? Sometimes when I need to be warned because dangerous things are about to happen or at a minimum,

17:15it's like, hey, your head needs to be on a swivel right now. Pay attention. I will feel this little

17:22poke right in my stomach. And there is no woman on this earth who likes to be poked in the stomach.

17:29It sure does get our attention when that happens. So, I get a little poke and then I know, okay, heads up,

17:35be aware, have situational awareness, keep your head on a swivel because there's a need to pay

17:42attention. And that has happened so many times. And the first time that it happened, I missed what

17:48the memo was supposed to be, was not paying attention. I thought, oh, that's weird. I wonder

17:54why that happened. And then this situation happened in public that was just crazy. So,

17:59anyway, that's another thing to kind of pay attention to. And on some of the scarier sides

18:06of things. And again, this is stuff that you walk through, you process through with the Lord,

18:11you overcome, and you realize that it's all some kind of an attempt to keep you from your destiny

18:16in the Lord. The awful classic stuff, being shoved, being pushed, being strangled, like all of that sort

18:27of stuff that happens has happened to me. And again, you pray through it because the Lord

18:32does protect you. And the name of Jesus in those moments is, it's the name above every name. So,

18:39it's power, it's authority, and it will help you deal with those situations that happen.

18:45And one more story that I can think of that happened that I want to leave you with is,

18:50in a meeting once, we were all singing to the Lord, and I cannot remember the song,

18:56but we're all in unison singing with the Lord and standing kind of up at the front of this

19:02church. And we're singing, and all of a sudden, I feel this presence behind me. And it was really

19:08powerful, very powerful presence. So, I turned this way to kind of look to see who it was,

19:15because I expected it to be the man that was ministering, that we were there part of his

19:19ministry team. So, I was trying to keep an eye on him if he needed help with something. So,

19:23I went to turn like this, and I realized there's nobody standing there. And it's about the time that I

19:29realized there's nobody standing there, that this bass voice from nowhere starts singing with us

19:35like right here behind my ear. And so, now my eyes are like the size of silver dollars,

19:41because not only can I feel this presence, but now I've got this bass voice coming. And it's like,

19:48I can even feel like breath almost on my hair, on my ear. And as I'm looking over, I end up where

19:55I'm locking eyes with a brother in the Lord standing next to me. And he has a really deep

19:59voice. So, for a second, my brain goes, oh, it was just him. He was singing too. But then I look,

20:06and he's singing, and I can hear his low voice, and then this bass voice. So, he's looking at me,

20:11because he's hearing the same voice. So, his eyes are also the size of silver dollars,

20:16as we're there in worship, and the angels of the Lord had just joined right in, because that's the

20:21whole idea, right? We are in a never-ending worship service unto the Lord, where we are forever

20:27getting changed to be like Him, and it's so wonderful. So, I want to encourage you, because

20:32we often think that these things couldn't possibly happen to us, and that's just not true. They do

20:39happen to us, but the world has schooled us to ignore it, and to completely filter out spiritual

20:47things. I can remember getting prayer, and I felt an actual hand depress my heart. And when I told my

20:53friend, she was like, Tracy, you just have indigestion. I was like, no, I don't have

20:59indigestion. The Lord touched me. But the world will continually do that and try to help you along

21:06with filtering out every spiritual thing that could happen with all this logic and reason and the Greek

21:12thinking. And that's what needs to go out of our thought process with the Lord is that Greek mindset

21:18and Greek thinking. Because again, think back to Corinthians about you need the Spirit of the Lord

21:26to discern what He's doing, because otherwise it's just foolishness to you, and you'll just blow it off.

21:29So, we've been trained to consider a lot of things foolishness and to just blow it off. So, I want to

21:35encourage you to pay attention. So, let's be schooled by Holy Spirit like we're supposed to be.

21:42And the last thing I want to leave you with is the most powerful touch that ever happened. And we're

21:48going to go to 1 Peter 2, 24. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross so that we might die

21:57to sins and live for righteousness. By His wounds, you have been healed. Think about that for a moment,

22:03because the Lord Jesus took the worst possible touch ever upon His body so that through the centuries

22:11through what He accomplished on the cross, He still is reaching and touching all of us so that we can

22:19have healing in our bodies. He took everything upon His flesh and upon His body, the weight of our sins,

22:26and He took the torture and the torment upon Himself and then touched us and brought healing and always

22:33brings healing and continues to bring healing to all of us. So, think about that kind of touch that is

22:38reverberating throughout the centuries. We're made in His image and likeness, and touch is important

22:43to all of us. It's important to our families. It's important for us as human beings to feel love

22:49and to have that conveyance of healing power and all things that our kingdom come through one another

22:56and through the Lord. So, thank you so much for watching. Lord, I pray that you would help us to

23:01recognize all around us how you're moving, the ways in which you're moving, the touch of Holy Spirit,

23:08and how we impact one another by even something as simple as a hug, Lord, what that actually brings

23:15to another person. So, Lord, help us with that in Jesus' name. Amen. And I want to just remind you to

23:28we are like our Father and how we can operate. As Jesus Christ is, so are we in this world. So,
