00:00So, when Season 2 picks up, are we gunning it right from the end of Season 1?
00:06Is there a time jump? What can you say about where we're picking up?
00:09There's a mini time jump, right?
00:12I think it's just a couple of weeks.
00:14Yeah, it's a couple of weeks, right.
00:15Okay. And so, at the end of last season, Joel obviously had a huge discovery in learning what Midge was doing.
00:22How is he going to be reacting to that in Season 2?
00:26You'll find out.
00:28Well, you saw his reaction.
00:31And I think he's, in Season 2, I just don't know what we can say or what we can't.
00:38I've got a list of things I can't say.
00:40Look, you know, he still has love for her, clearly.
00:45And I think, you know, he's just kind of grappling with the fact that she's better than him at something that was his dream.
00:55And yet, he still loves her, so I think it's that kind of, you know, he doesn't know what to do.
01:02I think he's very confused.
01:05Right. And so, in addition to Joel and Midge's marriage, which has definitely had strain on it from last season, Abe and Rose, there was some distance between them definitely towards the end of last season.
01:16Are we going to sort of dive deeper into the intricacies of their marriage in Season 2?
01:21Absolutely. The strain and ripple effect of what happened in the first year is such that our marriage and kind of how we work with one another as a couple is definitely questioned.
01:33And we are allowed to say, no spoiler here, or is a spoiler, but, is that we go to Paris, and in Paris there's kind of a rebirth of the relationship.
01:43You kind of look at us in a new way by the end, I think.
01:46Well, yeah, I think there's almost a moment in the early going in Season 2 where we're not really sure as characters and the audience is not going to be sure if this marriage is going to survive the upheaval that was caused by their split.
02:04And, oh, they have to really, really reassess and figure out how to, nothing's ever going to be the same. It's got to shift.
02:16And they were very sort of, well, in one way comfortable in their marriage for a long time, or stuck, depending on how you look at it.
02:24And now they have to reboot. That's what we find out.
02:28I feel like the same could be said for Joel and Midge. I mean, they have to sort of take a different avenue from what their relationship was before.
02:34Right, well, they have kids together, so they have to figure out some way to co-exist.
02:40I think it's, I think, for me, watching that relationship just objectively, it's interesting, I think, in a lot of ways, Midge and Joel's relationship becomes somehow deeper
02:55and more complex and more profound. It's a different kind of love. It's not, you know, marriage stuff. It's not that.
03:05But it's, in a way, it sounds odd to say it, but it could be the best thing that really happened in terms of them really, really connecting to who each other, you know, who each other is.
03:19It's an authentic kind of truth that had maybe been covered. I mean, a perfect kind of example is that she and I, my character, end up having, like, full faces as we go to bed
03:29and then kind of have a secret, you know, escape where we take off the makeup and the hair and then put it back on before the husbands wake up.
03:36And it is fascinating at the end of that first season that when they have that rekindled sexual moment that you look at her and say, you know, what was the exact line?
03:44Did you always look like this anymore?
03:45Yeah. And that's such a beautiful, beautiful moment and such a moment of truth telling, like, what, what, what did, who were you?
03:55What am I? And I was saying this earlier today is it would be interesting if that kind of honesty had existed at the time in the marriage before.
04:03But it didn't. So they're on a different path.
04:06Well, we'll have to see where it goes.
04:07Yeah, perhaps.
04:08Perhaps. Or maybe it does.
04:09I have hope for Joel and me.
04:10Yeah.
04:11So do we.
04:12Oh, definitely.
04:13Of course.
04:14Thank you guys so much.
04:15Oh, yeah, absolutely.
