Quentin Tarantino's highly anticipated 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood' will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, the film festival unveiled Thursday.

00:11The director's highly anticipated film,
00:13Once Upon a Time in Hollywood,
00:14will have its world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival,
00:17according to an announcement made on Thursday.
00:19Now the film tells the story of an aged television star
00:22and his stunt double trying to achieve fame
00:24and success in the film industry.
00:26The film, set to the backdrop of Hollywood's golden age
00:28in 1969 Los Angeles, includes a star-studded ensemble
00:32with the likes of Brad Pitt, Leonardo DiCaprio,
00:35and Margot Robbie.
00:36In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter,
00:38the festival's artistic director Thierry Fermo
00:40said he was really, really, really focused on Tarantino
00:44finishing the film in time to make the festival.
00:46He compared the director to Orson Welles and Martin Scorsese
00:49and said Tarantino was part of the Cannes family.
00:52Tarantino has been a festival regular in years past.
00:54The director won the Palme d'Or for Pulp Fiction,
00:57screened death-proof and inglorious bastards
00:59in competition in Cannes,
01:01and served as the president of the jury last year.
