00:04The filmmaker sat for an exclusive chat in Park City, Utah, with film insider Elvis Mitchell,
00:09where he leaned into the never-ending curiosity surrounding what he's doing next.
00:14Tarantino addressed it head-on, noting,
00:16If you're wondering what I'm doing right now, I'm writing a play.
00:19It's probably going to be the next thing I end up doing."
00:21But he didn't rule out the possibility of his play ending up on the big screen.
00:26If it's a fiasco, I probably won't turn it into a movie,
00:28but if it's a smash hit, it might be my last movie.
00:31Tarantino's last movie has been the focus of many headlines over the last year,
00:35as it was widely reported that his project The Film Critic would be his big-screen final bow,
00:40following Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt.
00:45The project was expected to film at least one sequence in 2024
00:49and then go into production in early 2025, with A-list talent attached, including Pitt,
00:54re-teaming him with Tarantino for a third time.
00:57During his Park City chat, Tarantino explained why he's been so hesitant to
01:01get back behind the camera. His two children,
01:04I'm in no hurry to actually jump into production. I've been doing that for 30 years.
01:08Next month, my son turns five, and I have a two-and-a-half-year-old daughter.
01:12When I'm in America, I'm writing. When I'm in Israel, I'm an abba, which means father.
