00:00Saved by the Bell sequel has officially found its cast.
00:04The sequel series to the 90's classic, which will air on NBCUniversal's new
00:08streaming platform, will feature three veterans from the original teen comedy
00:12including Mario Lopez, Elizabeth Berkley and Mark Paul Gosseler, who played
00:16AC Slater, Jesse Spano and Zack Morris, respectively.
00:20The series will star newcomer to the series Josie Toda, who will play the lead
00:23role of Lexi, a sharp-tongued cheerleader at Bayside.
00:27The show will also feature other new faces including Dexter Darden as Devante,
00:31a mysterious loner who comes to Bayside, Huskiri Velasquez as Daisy, a smart,
00:36ambitious sophomore who attends Bayside after her local school is shut down,
00:40Alicia Pascual-Pena, who plays Daisy's fun-loving but ultra-competitive best friend
00:44Aisha, Mitchell Hoog as Mac Morris, the handsome, charming, privileged son of
00:49Governor Zack Morris, and Belmont Kameli as Jamie, Jesse Spano's son and captain
00:54of the Bayside football team.
00:55The update will find Zack Morris, now the governor of California, getting into hot
00:59water for closing too many low-income high schools.
01:02He proposes that the affected students be sent to the highest performing schools in the
01:06state, including his alma mater, Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the
01:11overprivileged Bayside kids a much-needed and hilarious dose of reality.
01:15The show is a continuation of the original series, which ran from 1989 to 1993 on Saturday
01:21mornings on NBC. The sequel series is expected to premiere later this year.
