The TV and film house launches amid awards season domination for the 'Fleabag' creator.
Transcript
00:00If she builds it, they will come. Our beloved fleabag Phoebe Waller-Bridge is
00:04setting up her own production house. Now that her award season domination is
00:08complete, Waller-Bridge has launched a UK-based TV and film banner called
00:12Wells Street Films. And since everything she touches turns to gold, I expect it
00:16will be nothing less than a huge success. The Emmy winner said in a statement
00:20about her new venture,
00:21This has been a lifelong dream, and to say I'm excited is an understatement. She
00:26continued,
00:26I can't wait to start making new work. In the words no one wanted me to put in my
00:30press release, let's f*** it up. The multi-hyphenate won Emmys, Golden Globes, and
00:35SAG Awards for her Amazon BBC comedy Fleabag, which ended after two hilarious
00:40seasons. Jenny Robbins, story producer on Fleabag season 2, and Charlotte McBriarty,
00:45production manager of last year's Fleabag stage show, have joined the company.
00:49Wall Street is expected to produce TV shows from her three-year deal with Amazon
00:53Studios and Amazon Prime that was signed in September. Outside of this deal, Waller-Bridge
00:58also created and executive produces BBC America's Killing Eve, which was recently
01:03renewed for a third season. She is also executive producing HBO's upcoming comedic thriller
01:09run, starring Merit Webber. And she did a rewrite of the script for the forthcoming
01:14James Bond movie, No Time to Die, because James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, asked her
01:19to. And even with all of her accolades, she is still generous enough to remember our needs
01:24for a character like the Hot Priest. So congrats and thank you, Phoebe. For more of Phoebe Waller-Bridge,
01:30head to THR.com. For The Hollywood Reporter News, I'm Ashley Bellman, and I'll see you soon.
