00:10The NBCUniversal streaming service has canceled the comedy,
00:13a reboot of the 1990s teen series after two seasons.
00:17Saved by the Bell's second season debuted in November
00:20with all 10 episodes dropping the week of Thanksgiving.
00:23Saved by the Bell is still set at the fictional Bayside High School
00:26but features a bigger and more diverse cast than the original.
00:29Zach Morris is now the governor of California
00:31and has made a deeply unpopular decision to close underfunded schools.
00:36Students from affected campuses are then sent to wealthier schools, including Bayside.
00:41The show, which won a GLAAD Media Award for Best Comedy Series in April,
00:45tackled gender, race, and class issues alongside its jokes.
00:49Peacock said in a statement,
00:50Saved by the Bell has been a cultural mainstay for more than 30 years
00:54and the new series, led by Tracy Wigfield's superfan enthusiasm
00:57and signature witty humor seamlessly continued the show's legacy,
