00:00Here's your breakdown of what to watch this weekend in THR's now screening.
00:04First, THR's chief TV critic, Daniel Feinberg, has his picks of what you should check out.
00:08If you like wild swings of tone, this is the TV weekend for you.
00:11On Friday, Hulu premieres the sci-fi comedy Solar Opposites from Rick and Morty veterans
00:16Justin Roiland and Mike McMahon.
00:18It's a lot like Rick and Morty, only with more swearing, gorier violence, and yes, even
00:23a little sex.
00:24It starts off light and silly, but it finds some real substance by the end of the first
00:28season.
00:29Smarter than any man.
00:30Who knows what game of chess they're playing with us.
00:33Oh, don't throw that out.
00:34I can sell it.
00:35It has an unstable gray hole inside.
00:37You're an unstable gray hole.
00:39Far at the other end of the emotional scale is HBO's long-awaited adaptation of Wally Lamb's
00:44I Know This Much is True.
00:46Like the source material, this six-episode limited series is a deep, dark, unrelenting wallow
00:52in misery, but Mark Ruffalo's performance as very different, identical twin brothers is
00:56pretty spectacular and will surely be recognized at Emmy season.
01:00Ray, he's a paranoid schizophrenic.
01:03It's not mom's fault.
01:05It's not anybody's fault.
01:07Finally, somewhere in the middle, you have the second season of Netflix's Dead to Me,
01:12a cliffhanger-heavy mystery with a great comedy about female friendship somewhere in the middle.
01:18I love the performances by Linda Cardellini and Christina Applegate, even if the show's
01:22darker elements are starting to feel mighty familiar.
01:25No one can ever know what happened.
01:28Judy's back!
01:29Hi!
01:30I thought Judy wasn't going to be in our lives anymore.
01:32Guess you guys can't stay away from each other, huh?
01:34Thanks, Daniel.
01:35I gotta say, I re-watched season one of Dead to Me this past week to prepare for season two,
01:39and I can't wait to binge it.
01:40Also on Netflix, the multicultural family drama The Eddie from Academy Award-winning La La Land
01:44director Damien Chazelle just dropped on the streaming service.
01:48And then you call me late at night.
01:51You were pretty fantastic tonight.
01:52And over on Amazon Prime, you can now watch Jimmy O. Yang's debut comedy special, Good Deal.
01:58Plus, Star Wars The Rise of Skywalker is finally available to stream on Disney+,
02:02following the celebration of Star Wars Day earlier this week.
02:05Until next week's Now Screening, I'm Tiffany Taylor for The Hollywood Reporter News.
