00:00Hey, Shabbat Shalom, brothers and sisters. Welcome back. I thank you again for joining
00:04me today. Today I want to do an interesting book review. I encourage you to get this book.
00:09I just got done reading it. It's called The Brother of Jesus and the Lost Teachings of
00:17Christianity by Jeffrey J. Butts. Right here, the brother of Jesus. Yes, Jesus had brothers
00:28and sisters, half siblings. And the one in here to talk about mostly is James the Just,
00:36the apostle, the true leader of the messianic movement after Yeshua died and was resurrected
00:44and ascended up to the heaven. But anyways, this book here is 220 pages. It's an old book,
00:56of course. Trying to think when it was the copyright on it. This is 2005. And word of
01:06mouth, I came across this book by word of mouth. I was watching some kind of a show and they
01:10brought up this book about how James is an unsung hero. The church later on, the Gentile church,
01:21what they did was to try to get away from the Jewishness of Jesus so much, what they had to do
01:27was downplay or even eliminate the memory of James. And he was the leader of the church.
01:34And Paul says that in Galatians. If you read Galatians, he brings up James being the leader.
01:39He's one of the pillar apostles. It was in order. James, he had Peter and John. Had the three of them,
01:47they were the pillars. And the other, other one you find is, uh, the first Jerusalem council and,
01:52uh, and, uh, the book of Acts. Sorry, got a little kitten back here, little kitten back here,
01:59meowing. Uh, but anyways, yeah, this book discusses that. Why, you know, why about the Yeshua family?
02:08Yes, Yeshua had brothers and sisters. He had James, Jude, Simon, um, if you want to call them Joseph.
02:15Uh, one sister, uh, was it Salome? Uh, they just said one, but the others, there's, they mentioned
02:23others, but they never mentioned a couple, one sister or other sister by name, but he had a family
02:29and sort of like a, like a Yeshua dynasty passes it down to James. And by church history, James passes
02:38away and it goes to his cousin, uh, Simeon, Simeon passes away and it goes to Yeshua's younger brother,
02:46Jude. He becomes the leader. And then after that, it keeps going and keeps going. But you know, like
02:50the Roman, Roman church and the pagans, they wanted to downplay that. So what they do, they pick up
02:56Peter. Peter was, uh, the successor supposedly because he supposedly had the keys, but that's a
03:03different story in itself. I might do another video on that later on. But anyways, yeah, on the back,
03:08it just has, uh, a bibliography in the back. I got this book off of Amazon and surprisingly,
03:16it was real cheap. It's used, but it's real good condition. It's, uh, it cost me, oh, probably about
03:23four or something. And then I had three, $3 shipping charge. And I encourage you to get on there.
03:30If you're interested in it, you want to, you want to read a discover, uh, James adjust the brother of
03:36Yeshua and all this circumstances, what's going on. It's right here. It's very well researched and
03:43everything. And I was like, I knew about, I knew about James adjust, of course. And I was kind of
03:50wondering like, like you at the very beginning years and years ago, where did this James come from?
03:55He just pops up in the book of Acts. He just pops up as leader, leader of the church. And I'm going
04:03to tell you, apparently him and in here, it says him and Paul had, had their, had their differences
04:10and Peter too. Peter, of course, Paul talks about how he, uh, withstood, uh, Peter to his face for
04:17being a hypocrite. And I think that was in, that was in Galatians. I believe it was, if I'm not
04:22mistaken, uh, correct me if I'm wrong there, but anyways, it talks about, uh, other writings that
04:31are not non-canonical. They're not, but they, they still have some historical relevance and talk
04:39about James, who the type of person James was and how he was respected. He'd go into temple. He'd go
04:46into temple and pray all the time. And his knees are all ragged, like a camel skin. But yeah,
04:53look this up on amazon.com. The brother of Yeshua, you need to know he had a family. He had a real
05:01family. Of course we knew he had a mother. He had a stepfather, Joseph, a real father, Yahweh. And he
05:08had half siblings, brothers and sisters. We had cousins too, of course. And, uh, John the Baptist,
05:14of course, was one of his, uh, family members, members Elizabeth and Mary. They were related.
05:20It says that in the Bible. So that could be, uh, a Yeshua dynasty there, a family thing.
05:27It was always a rumor that some of the apostles like, uh, John and James, the other James and,
05:33uh, Peter and Andrew were cousins, but I don't know about that, but that's just rumors. I heard
05:38that they were somehow cousins and related to, but I don't know. That's speculation. But anyways,
05:43that's all I have to say right now. I thank you. Thank you guys for tuning in and I hope you get
05:49this book. Hope you get this book. Let me know what you think about it, by the way. And, uh,
05:54please subscribe. Uh, give me a big thumbs up and hit that notification bell. I'll see you again
05:59next time till we meet again. Peace out and Shalom.
