It's three months since two police officers were shot dead while executing a warrant at Porepunkah, in Victoria’s north-east. The search for the suspected shooter Dezi Freeman continues.
00:00Today marks three months since those two Victoria police officers lost their lives here in Pawpunker in that alleged shooting back in August.
00:13Now it's fair to say that that heavy police presence that we saw in the days and the weeks that followed that alleged incident is no longer here in Pawpunker.
00:25I've been here for several hours this morning and I'm yet to see a police officer.
00:30I also spent a bit of time here in the town last week and again I didn't see any police on the ground.
00:37We do know that a specialised task force has taken over this investigation.
00:43It is based here in the Great Alpine area and we know that it is made up of a number of specialised detectives,
00:51members of the special operations group and also search and rescue.
00:56But as for that really heavy police presence with the convoys and the dog squad
01:01and also that helicopter that spent many, many days above Pawpunker, that is no longer the case.
