Manhunt Underway After 'Heavily Armed' Man Shoots and Kills 2 Police Officers in Rural Australian Town: 'Murdered In Cold Blood'

On Tuesday, Aug. 26, shortly after 10:30 a.m. local time, two on-duty officers were fatally shot and a third was seriously injured after being shot in the lower body while 10 police officers were attending a property on Rayner Track in the town of Porepunkah, per a Victoria Police news release.

00:17What unfolded today was that ten very dedicated police officers went to execute a search warrant at that address.

00:24They were met by the offender and they were murdered in Coldplay.

00:33I want to acknowledge our fine and brave officers had lost their lives today in the line of duty.

00:41One of those officers was a 59 year old detective.

00:46The other officer, a 35 year old senior constable.

00:51One of our other good officers was a detective.

00:57He has been shot and is currently in surgery, being treated.

01:03His injuries are not life threatening.
