00:00Previously on Sister Wives.
00:03Property's sold.
00:04I mean, it's like not sold, but we got the offer.
00:06We got the earnest money.
00:08We got the offer, but did they got the earnest money?
00:09Oh, yes, earnest money is cleared.
00:11We have a full offer with earnest money.
00:14We're going to close on Coyote Pass soon,
00:16and it's for the whole thing.
00:20I'm going to go back to Flagstaff
00:22and make sure everything goes smoothly with the property.
00:25I've had a little bit of nerves in my stomach.
00:27I think it's just because it's an unknown right now for me
00:30when we all get together.
00:30I don't know.
00:31While Janelle and I are not best friends,
00:34I feel like at least I have an ally to fight
00:36for my part of the property.
00:39Before Coyote Pass sold, I was like backdoor deal
00:42almost with Janelle.
00:43Hey, we'll just sell it out from under these other two.
00:46He's putting the whole thing on me that I'm the problem.
00:53Cody and I just pulled up.
00:54Mary and Janelle are sitting in their cars,
00:57the message was, you know, we don't need to interact.
01:04It's a standoff at the Coyote Pass final showdown or something.
01:09I don't know.
01:27You know, we got to Coyote Pass, and Mary's in her car, and Janelle's in her car, and Robin and I are sitting in our car, and, well, it's just, we're just like, what should we do?
01:50Coyote and Robin have just rolled up. I don't want to get out and make small talk.
01:56Just them sitting there, like, I don't know what we're waiting for. Like, we already kind of had to wait for them for an hour.
02:03I kind of hoped that we would be, like, getting out and saying hello. But everybody's, I mean, Mary and Janelle are staying in their cars. So I'm like, okay.
02:17It feels like an old Western standoff at Coyote Pass. It's just ridiculous.
02:28I'm not that great of a whistler. You're going to look him dead in the eye. You're going to get ready to draw.
02:36Oh, well, do you feel lucky, punk? I was like, come on, man. It's just, it's so weird. Here we are.
02:46There's Justin.
02:50We might need that umbrella.
02:52Yeah, I'm taking it.
02:53All right.
02:54I'm bringing it.
03:06Cody told me that Janelle was giving him pressure to sell the property out from under Mary.
03:19Janelle's like, hey, listen, we need to sell this because I'm afraid we're losing the buyer.
03:24And I'm like, okay, you know, Janelle's always been kind of my financial advisor, but she's an ex-wife now.
03:30I was waiting on Mary.
03:32She kept saying that she was going to get the paperwork done and the time was ticking.
03:34And I'm like, I'm getting stressed out about it.
03:36We could have forced the sell on the piece that Mary's on.
03:39Like, I mean, he could have forced the sale on everything.
03:41So, yeah.
03:45This has been important to me to make sure that everybody was treated fairly in this situation.
03:54So, yeah, I fought him.
03:56I had some pretty big fights with him about it.
03:58So in the end, we just kind of laid down.
04:01We just said, okay, we'll just do the best we can to clear this up and make it, you just get a breather 25%.
04:07All right.
04:12You good?
04:12I was leaving the house today going, man, it's going to be a little cooler up there.
04:21I remember last time we were...
04:23If it's cloudy here, it's blowing usually.
04:24Well, yeah, and it was snowing on the way out, so perfect timing.
04:27They just stayed over there having this private little conversation with Justin.
04:31And I'm like, hi, we're over here.
04:34It was like, that was kind of weird to me.
04:38Hey, how are you?
04:39How are you?
04:40Long time no see.
04:41Yeah, it's been a while.
04:43I'm glad I'm here with Mary.
04:45It would be really awkward if I was standing here by myself.
04:48Hey, guys.
04:49Hi.
04:49How are we doing?
04:50Good.
04:50Justin Bemis.
04:51Nice to meet you.
04:52Nice to meet you.
04:52Nice to finally meet you.
04:53Are you guys going to be Justin for the first time?
04:56I was going to say, this has been the first time.
04:57I almost feel like I should have gave you a hug.
04:59It's been a good journey.
05:01Glad to make the cut with the crew, so thanks for having me.
05:07Looks like it's all coming together.
05:11I kept looking at Robin and Cody, and, you know, specifically Robin.
05:18Like, I wanted to catch her eye and just smile at her and just put out a gesture of, hey, I'm cool.
05:25I looked at Mary several times.
05:28I never saw her look at me.
05:30I guess I just need to give her the space.
05:33Janelle did make some eye contact with me.
05:37Mary never made eye contact with me that I recall.
05:41Mary's probably going to say, Cody never made eye contact with me.
05:43I know Mary.
05:44Well, this looks like our last visit with the place.
05:52We basically already said all of our goodbyes.
05:55Okay.
05:56So, we've got some good memories here.
06:01A lot of good stuff.
06:03So, when we first bought the place and we got here, the family moved into town.
06:09My kids just started jumping in, skinny dipping.
06:12I mean, they left their skivvies on.
06:15I just figured I'd join them.
06:16So, the pond was almost full.
06:19When we first came, we were really idealistic.
06:21We thought this would work out.
06:27So, there's definitely some emotional attachment here.
06:30Garrison took so many photos out here of the night sky.
06:33I'm just grateful for the experiences that we did have with the land, with Coyote Pass.
06:42Um, special place.
06:44Absolutely.
06:45Really special.
06:45And that view's killer.
06:48We're ready to go.
06:49I've got some stuff just to go over with you guys, just as far as making sure everything's
06:52spelt right and all the deeds are printed out and ready to go.
06:56So.
06:57The money will go a long way towards my new project.
06:59Good.
07:00Good.
07:01Came at a good time.
07:02Good.
07:04So.
07:07If you guys want to head around or come around and we can just double check.
07:11Okay.
07:12But, yeah, everything's been printed out.
07:14Numbers as agreed upon are over here.
07:18Yeah, I just want to make sure everybody's got that.
07:20Yeah, I looked.
07:21I kind of used to.
07:21I think this is what you said, right?
07:23Okay.
07:24The distribution dates and everything else.
07:25But, yeah, I want to double check it just because, you know.
07:27Oh, yeah.
07:32All right.
07:34I'm glad it's done.
07:36I'm glad.
07:36I'm glad it's finally done.
07:39One chapter closed.
07:41Yeah.
07:42It's been real, brother.
07:44Thank you so much.
07:45So.
07:45I'll give you a hug.
07:46Thanks, man.
07:46But, you know, I'll give Robin a good one.
07:48Yours is next time, my man.
07:51Thank you so much.
07:52It was nice seeing you.
07:52Nice meeting you for the first time.
07:55It was good seeing you.
07:55Appreciate you guys.
07:56See you too.
07:56Absolutely.
07:56Thanks for all your help.
07:57Okay.
07:58Bye, guys.
07:59Thanks, Justin.
07:59You're welcome.
08:00Anytime.
08:03Like, they didn't even say hi and they didn't even say bye.
08:07It was like, okay, I am invisible to you.
08:11I think Robin felt like she was going to be persecuted or attacked or something.
08:16And I'm like, no, we can be adults here, but whatever.
08:20It was super awkward, right?
08:22I think.
08:22It was so awkward.
08:24It was awkward.
08:25And I didn't think it'd be so awkward, but it was pretty awkward.
08:27They just didn't know what to do or how to have a normal conversation.
08:33You know, I didn't think we, you know, I don't really endorse fakeness and like, okay,
08:41let's pretend like everything's okay when it's not.
08:44Robin hates girl games.
08:47Yeah.
08:48And she reads nuance way different than me.
08:54Coyote Pass from beginning to end, its inception, the purchase of it and everything
09:00has been very complicated and messy from day one.
09:05It's finally done.
09:08Everybody's paid.
09:10Everybody can move on now.
09:11We have finally cut off these financial ties.
09:16And I am ashamed that it went so badly through the entire thing.
09:25The deal's done.
09:27This is a sad day.
09:29I mean, like we're done and I don't feel like celebrating.
09:33The toxicity at Coyote Pass after everybody had been paid was just too much.
09:40We should have pulled out the champagne with Justin, but we were still sort of sore.
09:46The wounds were still open.
09:47Amber, it was so weird.
09:54Like, I kind of figured it probably would be, but I had really high hopes that it would be a good thing.
10:01Well, hello, ladies.
10:02My girlfriends and I wanted to go travel and we're going to go to New Orleans because why not?
10:13So I heard that Coyote Pass is now sold.
10:16Cody, Robin, marriage, now they're all done with it.
10:18And all of the drama that happened for all of those years about it, I wasn't involved with it at all.
10:26I am so glad that I got out of the whole Coyote Pass thing when I left Cody.
10:33Look, I have no idea how much money they got for the property.
10:36No idea how much each of them made.
10:38And frankly, I don't care.
10:40Even if it was a better deal than I got when I sold my house, I really don't care.
10:43Oh my gosh, it's not worth any amount of money.
10:48None.
10:49Hi, hello, Christine and David.
10:52Okay, for facials?
10:54Yes.
10:55So do you guys get facials?
10:56Yes, guys absolutely get facials.
10:57She's forcing me unknown territory that I don't know if I want to do.
11:01I told him, I said, look, why don't we just have like a spa thing, maybe pedicures or something?
11:06And that or something led to a facial.
11:08Wait a minute, this is laying down.
11:10I thought a facial was like sitting up.
11:11I didn't know this was like get naked stuff.
11:14I didn't know.
11:15Not all the way.
11:16You guys trapped me into something here.
11:18I didn't know exactly how everybody does it.
11:21He calls it tricked.
11:22I call it gradual overwhelming.
11:25That's all.
11:26I told him we were going to go to one movie and we ended up going to another movie completely.
11:31And then like parties, we, I mean, I say they're smaller than they actually are.
11:36But also, I don't always know how many people are coming either.
11:40And he thinks it's being trapped or tricked or whatever.
11:44But it's, I don't always know.
11:48I know.
11:49Yeah, you like this, don't you?
11:50Thanks, baby.
11:50I don't mean for you to be uncomfortable.
11:53No, I'm not uncomfortable.
11:54Oh, not uncomfortable.
11:55No, I'm not uncomfortable.
11:58Would you come join me?
11:59I'll join you right here.
12:00I have to be in my bed.
12:02I'm a big fan of monogamy.
12:03I love it.
12:04I love that David's around all the time.
12:05I was so nervous at first before we moved in together.
12:08The thought of having a guy around all the time, I was like, what am I going to do with him?
12:11I have no idea.
12:12But no, it's totally easy.
12:15He's wonderful.
12:16He's just, he's consistent and he's good.
12:19And he, he does the whole monogamy thing really, really well.
12:34So the renovations have been going on here at the house for a few months now.
12:38Things are moving along.
12:39At this point, I'm planning on eventually turning into more of an event space.
12:45It's going to be great because the sun comes over.
12:48You're going to have shade here all day, but you're still going to get the warmth of the sun.
12:52The B&B is done.
12:54It's over.
12:55It's gone.
12:56But the house will never leave my family.
12:58I will make sure of that.
13:00Before we fix the walls or they fix the walls, I want to write words on it.
13:06I love that.
13:07Like notes and positive words and stuff.
13:09I love that.
13:10I love it.
13:11I was thinking about this the other night.
13:13Hey, just any words?
13:14Words.
13:15Anything?
13:15Anything.
13:16Words or quotes or affirmations or whatever you want.
13:20I'm excited.
13:23Mm-hmm.
13:24I feel like the property was that last tie, that last anchor that now is dropped and released,
13:34and I don't have to worry about them.
13:35I don't have to worry about the property.
13:37I don't have to worry about the family, except for when I want to and if I want to.
13:41It's just nice to not have to worry about the property at Coyote Pass anymore.
13:50Absolutely, the stakes are well done.
13:58I love it.
13:59Isn't that perfect?
14:00I love it.
14:03Anyway.
14:03May the roof above us never fall in, and those gathered beneath it never fall out.
14:10Now that I'm home from Flagstaff and everything's done with the property and it was the weird
14:16situation, you know, with seeing everybody, I definitely want to share this information
14:23with Amber, you know, because I think she'd get a kick out of it.
14:26I want an update.
14:30Are you at peace with how it all got worked out with Coyote Pass?
14:38I'm at peace with the fact that it's been worked out.
14:42Fair enough.
14:42Fair enough.
14:44Amber, it was so weird.
14:46Like, I kind of figured it probably would be, but I had really high hopes that it would
14:51be a good thing.
14:53Like, he did not look at me once.
14:56There was one time that we might have caught eyes, like, in passing really quick.
15:01She, on purpose, had never...
15:03That's just heartbreaking.
15:04...never looked at me.
15:05It was the dumbest thing.
15:08We have this history.
15:09We should be able to interact and be decent with each other.
15:14Yeah.
15:15I just really, really am enjoying this phase of my life.
15:20Now that the property's sold, I'm kind of talking about dating a little bit, you know
15:25what I mean?
15:26And it's like, that's also been a very interesting thing.
15:29And I'm enjoying the process.
15:32It's a fun ride.
15:33Look, Maddie's almost had a front row seat to this Coyote Pass drama.
15:49She's the only one who probably will get it, of my kids.
15:52Like, will get how dramatic this has been.
15:55You can bring us down stuff.
15:57The restaurant's in your room, okay?
15:59What would you like to order?
16:01What drink?
16:02A water with no ice and bring me a whole lemon that I can slice myself.
16:06And a knife.
16:06Stop.
16:07I've heard that before.
16:08Stop.
16:09Stop.
16:10It's a joke.
16:10It's a joke that you would understand.
16:12Bring me a water with no ice.
16:14Cody discovered water with lemon in it and that warm water really works better for his digestion.
16:19So whenever we used to go somewhere, he'd always ask the waiter for room temperature or warm water and a whole lemon.
16:27He wanted to cut his own lemon.
16:29Look, he tipped well and people were usually okay to accommodate him.
16:35So I have to tell you, so like, I went out to the property.
16:42It was so awkward.
16:43Like, Robin didn't even say anything.
16:45She kind of, like, sort of, like, just there because she had some obligation to be there or whatever.
16:51Do you know what I mean?
16:52She didn't...
16:52We had to sign.
16:53That was it.
16:54Talk to you at all?
16:55Mm-mm.
16:56Or marry at all?
16:59It was just weird.
17:01And then we're like, we all signed the paper and we're like, okay.
17:03Hi to you, hey.
17:05No, no.
17:07They just pretend like you didn't exist?
17:08We just all got there and Justin started talking and then Cody and Justin started talking and Mary and I just kind of stood there like props.
17:13Like, it was so weird.
17:15It was weird and I'm really, really glad it's over.
17:18I'm glad it's done.
17:19I no longer have to think about Cody Brown.
17:21He doesn't...
17:22He doesn't have any...
17:24Any hold over me.
17:26This is done.
17:27This chapter's closed.
17:28My girlfriends and I wanted to go travel and we're going to go to New Orleans.
17:33Because why not?
17:37It looks like the dead thing's in the corner of the bathroom or something.
17:40Like, no.
17:40Oh, that's so gross.
17:42Like, none of the sister wives would have been up for bugs.
17:45I can pretty much guarantee that.
17:57How are you feeling, babe?
17:58What?
17:59Are you sleeping?
18:00No, never.
18:01You know me.
18:03Once I lay down, I'm gone.
18:04I know.
18:06Seven seconds is your record.
18:08Danielle told me the other day I was a terrible monogamist.
18:11And she's like, how independent were you before?
18:15And I said, very.
18:16There is stuff that is like, hello, I need to communicate.
18:21There's a lot of things that we've got to communicate.
18:22It's a whole new world.
18:25So Danielle's my sister.
18:26Lovely.
18:26She always has really good advice.
18:28She just looked at me.
18:29She goes, you are a terrible monogamist.
18:31I take over.
18:32I take over a house.
18:34I take over everything.
18:35Babe, it's hard.
18:37It is still hard.
18:39Marriage is something that you work at.
18:40You work at being married.
18:42You know, you work at being a monogamist.
18:43I'm just new to this whole monogamy thing.
18:45And it's just very different than polygamy.
18:47It's very different from being single.
18:49It really is about having this partner and learning how to just rely on somebody else.
18:55It's just a whole new thing to figure out.
18:58I have wondered, like, could I live monogamy after living in a plural family?
19:02Because I had so much independence and so much freedom.
19:04I mean, maybe.
19:05I don't know.
19:05Probably.
19:07You're doing good.
19:08We're figuring it out.
19:10As it comes along, we address it and figure it out.
19:13I appreciate your patience, too.
19:15It's all new.
19:16You know?
19:18Oh, no.
19:19Hey!
19:20Hey!
19:23Whoa!
19:24I got a thing on my head.
19:26You look like a pretty princess.
19:28A pretty princess?
19:29Yes.
19:30Wow.
19:32Look, David gives and gives and gives and gives.
19:34All the time.
19:35He gives all day at work.
19:37He fixes people's problems all day, every day.
19:42At the end of the day, he deserves to be pampered.
19:46I feel like a million dollars already.
19:50Oh, so nice.
19:52Keep your eyes closed.
19:54Mm-hmm.
19:56And cover them with a seaweed extract.
19:58Oh!
19:59Baby, it's like a cucumber situation.
20:03Yeah, you laugh it up.
20:04Mm-hmm.
20:05Okay, what is that?
20:10This is a jelly seaweed mask.
20:12I lost my man card somewhere on the floor.
20:14Can someone find it?
20:16Baby, you have a great man card.
20:17I don't know what you're doing.
20:18Only real men get this stuff.
20:22Whoa.
20:23Whoa.
20:24What is that?
20:28That is awesome.
20:30In polygamy, there wasn't someone else to talk to all the time about things.
20:34I just figured it out myself, and I just fixed things myself.
20:37Versus in monogamy, I have to communicate more.
20:39There's so much to talk to about things.
20:42So I'm really honestly learning how to communicate at 52 years old.
20:47It's amazing.
20:48Thank you for coming with me.
20:50You're welcome.
20:51It's a fun date.
20:52Yeah, you owe me.
20:58So I'm in New Orleans today.
21:00I think that's how you're supposed to say it.
21:01I grew up saying New Orleans, and I don't think that's right.
21:04Anyway, I'm here.
21:05I have my girlfriends.
21:05It's really hard for us to get together because everybody's busy with their lives.
21:08But we all decided to take a few days and meet here in New Orleans.
21:14Coyote pass is done.
21:15That weight is off my shoulders.
21:16I got a little bit of cash in my pocket, and I'm going to just go have a little bit of fun,
21:21just a little bit, with my girlfriends.
21:24This is my next chapter of, A, I want to bring this dream to fruition at the farm,
21:29but also to just kind of explore all these things that I never did.
21:38Yeah, we're Janelle's friend group that likes to get her out and get her to do stuff,
21:41kind of break her out of her shell, have a little fun.
21:43When I met Janelle, I knew about polygamy.
21:45I just didn't know a lot of the, how it worked, the inner workings of it,
21:50but I've definitely heard of it and seen people that live that lifestyle,
21:53and it's very intriguing.
21:55We've all just supported her no matter what she wanted to do
21:58because we've heard her talk about living polygamy again,
22:06like it's an open option.
22:07Um, so we would support her in whatever she wants to do.
22:11I think Janelle definitely should get out and date and start opening her heart.
22:18I feel like she went through a lot of hits,
22:20and I think that she should be, like, have a romantic-o kind of situation, you know?
22:26I don't know if I'm Janelle's wingwoman on this trip,
22:28but if the perfect man presents himself, I'm definitely going to take the opportunity to introduce him.
22:35What I like is they push my boundaries a little bit just because they're...
22:39I grew up so conservatively, and I got married young,
22:42and I'm like, there's a lot of things that I'm like, hmm, I don't know.
22:44I've just never done that before.
22:45Is gator on the stick fried or grilled?
22:50I have no idea.
22:50I don't know.
22:51I would say fried.
22:52We're going to find out.
22:52I would say it's probably fried.
22:54Can I have mine well done, please?
22:57Um, I know that my girlfriends would love for me to really let my hair down.
23:03I'm going to take baby steps.
23:04It's going to be baby steps.
23:07Oh, wow, it's kind of...
23:08Mine's crushing.
23:09Cheers, everyone.
23:09You got it?
23:10Hold on, cheers.
23:11Cheers to gators.
23:12Cheers to gators.
23:14Okay.
23:14All right.
23:15I'm not mad about it.
23:21Spicy.
23:22Interesting.
23:23It has a really different aftertaste.
23:25Yeah.
23:26Greasy, but it's good.
23:27Because they're spicy a little bit.
23:29Not my favorite.
23:31I like it.
23:34This trip is about baby steps, trying new things.
23:37Food is a very easy baby step.
23:40It's a little step in the new chapter of my life,
23:44or whatever, that this is kicking off.
23:46Okay, we've got dark chocolate crickets.
23:51Okay, open.
23:53I'm, I'm...
23:54It's about new stuff.
23:55So we're going to get mixed bugs.
23:58Cheers.
23:59Okay.
24:00Why did I get a big one?
24:01Crickets.
24:01I'm going to put those little seeds on it, so that you don't think it's the insect crunching.
24:10I think it's the...
24:11Probably the insect.
24:15Oh, no.
24:16Oh, God.
24:17Oh, no.
24:18Here you go.
24:18You do it.
24:19Oh, no, no, I can't.
24:20Oh, my goodness.
24:22No, these are real bugs.
24:23Like, not...
24:24No, I can't.
24:25No.
24:25Are they moving?
24:26It looks like the dead thing's in the corner of the bathroom or something.
24:30Like, no.
24:30Oh, that's so gross.
24:31Oh, my God.
24:32There's, like, roaches in here.
24:33Is there a big one?
24:33Oh, no.
24:34No.
24:35Yeah.
24:35Maybe we can share one roach.
24:37No.
24:38Oh.
24:39No.
24:40It looks like what's in your bathroom.
24:43Okay, I'm just going to do a little buddy here.
24:45Okay, without the wings.
24:46Okay.
24:48It's like a maggot.
24:49It is.
24:51It's like a maggot.
24:51Did you eat that?
24:52I did.
24:53I did.
24:54I...
24:54It doesn't taste like anything.
24:55You have to chew it.
24:56Okay, here we go.
24:57It's like crunchy air.
24:58We got this, Janelle.
24:59New life adventure.
25:01Oh!
25:03You nailed it.
25:04It's all about the crunch, right?
25:06It is.
25:07I can't do it.
25:07I cannot do that.
25:08That is so nasty.
25:10Well, we did it.
25:11Yeah.
25:11Yeah.
25:12Cheers.
25:13The chocolate one was like, okay.
25:15More adventure.
25:15But the other one, like, no.
25:17No.
25:17Nope.
25:18Nope.
25:18Nope.
25:18Nope.
25:19Nope.
25:19Nope.
25:19Nope.
25:19Nope.
25:20Nope.
25:20Nope.
25:20Nope.
25:23Like, none of the sister wives would have been up for bugs.
25:25I can pretty much guarantee that.
25:27So my friends are troopers, man.
25:29We're like, they're going to like, okay, we're going to do it.
25:31Like, I don't think any of my sister wives would have eaten the bugs.
25:37And we'll see what happens next.
25:39I'm just exhausted and so tired of being blamed for how his kids feel about him.
25:47There will always be a Cody-sized hole in our hearts if you're not there.
25:52We said to go to New Orleans because, well, it was winter-ish, fall, and this was warm.
26:05Going to be warmer than some of the other places we've talked about.
26:08Listen, beach resorts are great.
26:10But I wanted to have a little bit more of an adventure than just sitting on the beach.
26:14Well, hello, ladies.
26:15Woo-hoo, look at those.
26:17Those are cute.
26:17Got to give you all your hurricanes.
26:19Like, when I was on the trips with my sister wives, it was a very different relationship than girlfriend.
26:24My friends are all easygoing.
26:27Nobody has to control the schedule.
26:28Nobody has to, like, be the boss.
26:30Like, we're all just like, yeah, you want to go to that?
26:31Okay, yeah, let's go do it.
26:33We should do a cheers to letting go and finding ourselves.
26:36There you go.
26:38Love you.
26:38I really didn't even have girlfriends until the last couple of years.
26:44I was always busy with my kids, or I was busy, I was just involved with the family.
26:51Or, before that, I lived so secretly, I didn't really have an option of making a lot of girlfriends.
26:56But, probably in the last five years or so, I finally have had some girlfriends.
27:00And I'm like, wow, this is kind of fun.
27:02I've missed having girlfriends.
27:06Why are you pointing it towards me?
27:08Hold on, is it going to pop?
27:11I don't know.
27:12Probably.
27:12Don't hurt yourself.
27:13I have faith in you.
27:14Here we go.
27:15Oh!
27:16Nailed it.
27:17Nice.
27:17Here we go, cheers.
27:18Good job.
27:19My first pop.
27:21I think in some ways, plural, when you have a plural family, because you have to make the
27:26team work, you have to sort of play up certain parts of your personality and kind of downplay
27:30other parts.
27:31It's fine.
27:32I did not live a compromised life.
27:33I did not live an unhappy life.
27:35But I sort of forgot how to have fun a little bit.
27:41This is cute.
27:41I love what you've got.
27:42Well, I know.
27:43From the hotel room.
27:43It was downstairs in the snack bar.
27:46Yes, this is so cute.
27:47Because I'm like, we probably better not have.
27:48It's like glamping.
27:50And I'm happy there's no bugs in the hand.
27:52Crickets or Gator.
27:53Yeah, I'll tell you.
27:54That was an experience.
27:56That was gross.
27:56We're going to do it again.
27:57There's no chocolate on here, is there?
27:59Yeah.
27:59I love hiding.
28:01Disguised as crickets.
28:03But I think for many years, I hid a little bit.
28:07Like, I hid a lot of who I was.
28:09I hid a lot of, like, being so open.
28:13It feels a little bit scary and uncomfortable to step out of that.
28:16But, like, I'm working on it.
28:18So, how do you like North Carolina?
28:20Like, honestly?
28:21Like, the idea that I'm going to live in a house.
28:23Like, that I don't have to, like, move.
28:26Cody always was like, we got to move.
28:27There was always so much, always so much chaos.
28:31Like, there was just chaos to live with him.
28:33How exhausting.
28:34Like, I think it was, and I've realized now that life was just always overwhelming.
28:39When I, the whole time I was ever with him.
28:40And living in constant chaos is so exhausting.
28:43You know, when he turned 50, and all of a sudden he started making all this noise about
28:46he was carrying the whole family.
28:49And I think he had this wife who just was his soulmate or whatever.
28:54And I just think he, I just think he was like, I'm not, it's too exhausting.
28:58I don't see Caleb or Mitch or anybody saying, oh, I'm done.
29:02You guys just figure it out because it's too much responsibility.
29:06I don't see that.
29:07You know what I mean?
29:07And here's Cody with all this family.
29:09And he's like, oh, I don't know.
29:11Like, I'm tired of carrying the burden.
29:12It's aging me.
29:13Like, I don't think you really say that when you have a family.
29:16But whatever.
29:17I never shirked my responsibilities ever in this family.
29:22I was there.
29:23I was always there.
29:24And I gave 110% every time.
29:27I felt like I wasn't getting that from the rest of my family.
29:31I got three ex-wives who are going, Cody changed, Cody changed, Cody changed.
29:36All right, I guess we all went through menopause together.
29:38Because there is such a thing as malmenopause.
29:40And my testosterone probably just fell to the floor.
29:43And I just didn't want to do the hard work anymore.
29:46The selling of Coyote Pass is a form of closure.
29:57We're all separated.
29:58It's done.
29:59It's everybody's moving on.
30:02I would really like to move myself from a place of blaming.
30:07And I would like everybody to stop blaming me.
30:11I've been thinking.
30:12You've been thinking.
30:13Yeah.
30:14And I've been struggling with some old relationships.
30:27And how they haven't been improving, getting better, or even having any interaction.
30:35I'm wondering if I could, if you think that getting a good therapist would help me in figuring out, you know, sort of getting around some of my issues with my kids, my older kids.
30:50And trying to get a place where I'm comfortable communicating with them.
30:57I think that's great.
31:00I've got to work on me.
31:01Because I'm angry about what a lot of the kids have said, done, and believed.
31:04But I've also got to have the tools to be able to engage a relationship, putting my feelings aside and inviting them to step into a space where we can communicate safely and lovingly.
31:19Have you ever been in a spot like this where you just didn't want to talk to anybody anymore?
31:24Talked to anybody anymore?
31:25A person.
31:26A person that was.
31:27Really?
31:28You've been there before.
31:29Yeah, definitely.
31:30Okay.
31:30And, um, I continue to try.
31:35And I will.
31:36You do anyway.
31:37I do it anyway.
31:38Even when it's hard, I do it.
31:40If the relationship is of value to me.
31:44When you talk about family, it's like, I think it deserves more shots.
31:49I think there's some hurt feelings and misunderstandings and some, uh, influencing that's been happening, some pretty intense influencing.
32:02And I just feel like that, I feel like it's so important for your kids to have a relationship with you and for you to have one with them and for them to have one with me.
32:13I don't think parents actually completely realize how much little things they say actually influence the way their children think about the other parent.
32:31And in plural marriage, dad's not around the same amount as mom.
32:37I'm just exhausted.
32:38I'm so tired of being blamed for how his kids feel about him.
32:41It's his responsibility, not mine.
32:45Look, I wish I had a lot of influence on my adult children.
32:49Boy, things would be really different.
32:51I've reached out to every one of my children.
32:53I've reached out to every one of my children and multiple times.
32:57And if they don't have a relationship with me, it's because they're not reciprocating.
33:02No matter what any of them say, there will always be a Cody-sized hole in their hearts if you're not there.
33:11Do you like tall, short kings?
33:19There has to be a minimum height requirement.
33:20Even roller coasters have that.
33:25I wish so badly that I could have fixed things with my own dad while he was alive.
33:31My girlfriends all have a plan that I'm going to meet somebody like, I'm like, I just don't think that's reality.
33:49Like, that's a TV movie or something.
33:50That's not real.
33:51My kids are kind of waiting for me to, like, start dating.
33:55Oh, they are.
33:56Okay, so they're into it.
33:56I think so.
33:57They're like, well, what about mama?
33:59Us too.
34:01That's odd.
34:02Yeah.
34:02That's odd that everyone around you is.
34:04You know, I will say, I will say, though, like, okay, look, it was a hard no.
34:07Like, for at least, at least for the last couple of years, it's been a hard no.
34:10And now it's kind of like, maybe.
34:14The farm is my passion and everything, but I do need to have a life away from it.
34:18Trying to get enrolled in some of the classes and stuff in the community.
34:21Just trying to, like, meet some people.
34:22Oh, yeah.
34:22You're going to do your Pilates?
34:25Maybe.
34:25Yeah.
34:26Yeah.
34:26You have to go to the hardware store to meet a guy.
34:28Or the farm and tractor supply or something.
34:30Yes, exactly.
34:31Farm supply, farm whatever it is.
34:33Ag supply.
34:33I don't remember what they call it there.
34:35Well, I can tell you right now, he's not allowed to wear a visor.
34:37Under any circumstance, I don't know what you want, but I do know what you don't want.
34:46I have a very clear picture of that in my head.
34:48Christina really has a thing about his visor.
34:50She just thinks it's so funny.
34:53Oh, she makes a lot of references to it.
34:57My friends definitely don't pull any punches when they come to their opinions of Cody, for sure.
35:01So, what do you guys think the guy, like, her perfect guy, what qualities would he have?
35:10Yeah, just physically.
35:10Let's start there.
35:11Do you like tall, short kings?
35:14I, you know, it doesn't matter.
35:15Blonde.
35:16Did you go blonde again?
35:17See, it's so funny.
35:18I was, like, really, I was always more attracted to brunettes, and I ended up with going on.
35:21Oh, okay.
35:22Keep it coming.
35:22Muscular.
35:24Um...
35:25There has to be a minimum height requirement.
35:26Even roller coasters have that.
35:27Yeah, no, probably at least, at least a little taller than me would be good.
35:35Yeah, you don't want the wrong side of 5'8".
35:36But I'm only 5'5".
35:37Like, I'm only 5'5".
35:38That's true.
35:39You know what I mean?
35:39What about, like, body type?
35:40Do you, like...
35:41Um, I need stocky enough to handle life.
35:45Yeah.
35:46And someone who values family.
35:49I think family, for sure.
35:50Maybe someone who has kids and grandkids, like David, who is family-
35:53Yeah, that was good, because Christine had a big, you know, because I have a big family.
35:57I think this impulsive trip has turned out to be very, a good thing.
36:01Like, it's been a good thing.
36:03Well, I've actually realized now that there is one more thing I need to do.
36:09To cut that tie with Cody.
36:11Like, completely cut the tie.
36:13And I need to have that spiritual release.
36:18Like, there's still some sort of a psychic bond because of it to Cody.
36:22So I just want to cut that.
36:24I mean, I treated my marriage as if it was just the same as a legal marriage.
36:27It was to me.
36:28Yeah.
36:29And is it just the women that have to get a spiritual release?
36:33The men can do it also.
36:34Yeah.
36:34And he could get one, too?
36:35Yeah.
36:35I mean, he could have initiated it.
36:37Okay.
36:38If he wanted to.
36:39He doesn't want to be the one to make those decisions.
36:43They're usually a lot harder on the men.
36:46Like, what the hell's wrong with you?
36:48So that's probably why he doesn't go.
36:49Thanks.
36:50Yeah.
36:50Like, you're here again?
36:52Yeah.
36:53How many times is this guy going to get released?
36:58He's a frequent flyer.
37:00Yeah.
37:00He gets.
37:02Buy one.
37:03It's a long with you.
37:04Free for free.
37:06Yeah, maybe you could get a BOGO on that release ceremony.
37:08Oh.
37:13It's not just been one divorce.
37:20It's been three.
37:22And that's a lot to take to your self-confidence.
37:28The fact that Cody is still functioning as well as he is, is a freaking miracle, considering
37:34what has been dumped on top of his head.
37:37There's a phrase I heard, the knife of the father is never out.
37:43of the heart of his children.
37:45That's what my point is.
37:46That breaks my heart.
37:49Same.
37:51I want to.
37:54I wish so badly that I could have fixed things with my own dad while he was alive.
38:01I told Grandma Cheryl once, I said...
38:12But I said, Cheryl, what I would do, what I would give to sit down and have a couple beers
38:29with my dad.
38:32And she just looked at me and said, I think he would have really liked that.
38:37But I got a beer with Garrison the last time we ate together.
38:40I'm sure that that was a sweet memory for him.
38:42But that's, like, you're talking about this experience, and those are, like, you know, you have some regrets.
38:54Being able to do that with your kids would really be a benefit, you know?
39:00When I see Cody being rejected by his kids, I see myself.
39:09My dad, Paul, married my mom when I was about nine years old.
39:15And while my dad, Paul, was absolutely wonderful to me, and while I was angry and did reject my biological father for years,
39:27I do understand how much I needed him and still would love to have him in my life and in my kid's life.
39:36I look like him.
39:46I look like my biological father.
39:51I look like him more than my mom.
39:55This has been a really, really complicated, hard situation probably for them to understand.
40:02It's been very, very confusing, I'm sure.
40:04Probably. I had a lot of mean things to say about their mothers as part of the problem.
40:10That's not good.
40:11No, that wasn't a road I should have ever gone down.
40:14Mm-mm.
40:18The Coyote Pass being wrapped up is a really, could be a positive thing.
40:25When you have nothing to fight over,
40:27then you're kind of like, oh, take someone out of yourselves, I guess.
40:31I don't have a voice with Janelle or Mary or Christine, but I do with Cody.
40:38I was like, you need to find yourself again, because you've lost that good man that I married.
40:44Still to come on Sister Wives.
40:49After that whole experience in Coyote Pass, I want to set him free.
40:53So how are you going to do that?
40:55I'd go and apologize.
40:57He wants to extend an olive branch.
41:00I need to know what the motive is.
41:02Come on, girl.
41:03Here's to Janelle getting a new man.
41:07Hi.
41:08How are you?
41:09Ron is in town, and I can't help but smile.
41:13Sorry.
41:14So I met Ron at a speed dating event.
41:18I am so happy right now, Ron.
41:20I love that.
41:22This is my journey.
41:23My hope is for them to receive it well.
41:26I just wanted to come and say that I apologize.
41:31Wow.
41:32I don't have a lot of trust with Cody.
41:36Hey, hey.
41:36I am walking into an environment where trust has been killed.
41:39Suck those beers down, because I've got some fun stuff to share with you.
41:42Oh, my God.
41:42Now I'm nervous.
41:45As far as extending an olive branch, I think there'll be hidden barbs in there.
41:48I apologize.
41:49Here's the huge one.
41:50For saying I didn't love you.
41:53This is my husband here.
41:54Why do you think this is appropriate?
41:55So I'm having a conversation tomorrow with Cody.
41:59I get a little bit nervous thinking that it could go really, really wrong.
42:04Apology is so needed here, because this is still so toxic.
42:09Do you apologize that you are toxic to me?
