Annapurna TV is producing the adaptation of the early 2000s docuseries.
Transcript
00:00Harrison Ford is headed back to the small screen for the first time in more than 25 years.
00:04The legendary actor is attached to star in a scripted adaptation of the docuseries
00:09The Staircase from Annapurna TV. The potential TV series is a retelling of the 2004 true crime
00:14docuseries about the murder of Kathleen Peterson and the prime suspect, her husband,
00:19novelist Michael Peterson. It followed the Peterson case after Michael was indicted in
00:23Kathleen's 2001 death. He claimed his wife fell down a staircase, but police and prosecutors
00:29suspected he bludgeoned her and staged the scene to look like an accident.
00:33There was sufficient evidence to warrant a trial.
00:35The injuries are not consistent with a fall down the stairs.
00:38Now Ford will also be an executive producer on the project, which Annapurna is shopping to
00:42networks and streaming services. Annapurna and Ford's reps declined to comment.
00:47The iconic actor's last appearance on a scripted series came in 1993, when he played the adult
00:52version of the title character on the young Indiana Jones Chronicles. Ford made a number of
00:56TV appearances early in his career on shows including The Virginian, Mod Squad, and Gunsmoke.
01:01His most recent credits, of course, include Star Wars The Force Awakens and Blade Runner 2049.
