Armie Hammer is set to play a producer of 'The Godfather' in a limited series about the making of the movie classic.

00:11The Call Me By Your Name and Social Network actor
00:13will play producer Al Ruddy in the making of the series,
00:16which is a 10-episode drama set at Paramount+.
00:18The ViacomCBS streamer, which is set to launch in 2021,
00:22is a beefed-up and renamed CBS All Access,
00:24incorporating titles from across the conglomerate's platforms.
00:27The offer is based on Ruddy's experiences making the 1972 film,
00:31alongside director Francis Ford Coppola,
00:33who also co-wrote the screenplay.
00:35The Godfather went on to win three Oscars,
00:38Best Picture, which Ruddy accepted as producer,
00:40Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor for Marlon Brando,
00:44and is widely considered one of the greatest films of the 20th century.
00:47The series will also include previously unrevealed experiences
00:50Ruddy had while making the picture.
00:52As for Hammer, his credits also include On the Basis of Sex,
00:55Sorry to Bother You,
00:56most recently Netflix's Rebecca,
00:58and the upcoming Death on the Nile.
