00:00The nerves in my stomach, I think it's just because it's an unknown right now for me when we all get together, I don't know.
00:05While Janelle and I are not best friends, I feel like at least I have an ally to fight for my part of the property.
00:12Before the Coyote Pass sold, I was like back to ordeal almost with Janelle.
00:16Hey, we'll just sell it out from under these other two.
00:18He's putting the whole thing on me that I'm the problem.
00:25Cody and I just pulled up. Mary and Janelle are sitting in their cars.
00:28This message was, you know, you don't need to interact.
00:35It's a standoff at the Coyote Pass final showdown or something. I don't know.
00:40What?
00:41You know, we got to Coyote Pass.
01:11And Mary's in her car, and Janelle's in her car, and Robin and I are sitting in our car, and we're just like, what should we do?
01:22Coyote and Robin have just rolled up. I don't want to get out and make small talk.
01:26Just them sitting there. Like, I don't know what we're waiting for. Like, we already kind of had to wait for them for an hour.
01:35I kind of hoped that we would be, like, getting out and saying hello.
01:38But everybody's, I mean, Mary and Janelle are staying in their cars. So I'm like, okay.
01:50Feels like an old Western standoff at Coyote Pass. It's just ridiculous.
01:54I'm not that great of a whistler. You're going to look him dead in the eye. You're going to get ready to draw.
02:02Well, do you feel lucky, punk? I was like, come on, man. It's just, it's so weird.
02:08Here we are.
02:11There's Justin.
02:11We might need that umbrella.
02:17Yeah, I'm taking it.
02:17All right.
02:18I'm bringing it.
02:19Cody told me that Janelle was giving him pressure to sell the property out from under Mary.
02:42Janelle's like, hey, listen, we need to sell this because I'm afraid we're losing the buyer.
02:46And I'm like, okay, you know, Janelle's always been kind of my financial advisor.
02:50But she's an ex-wife now.
02:52I was waiting on Mary.
02:53She kept saying that she was going to get the paperwork done and the time was ticking.
02:56And I'm like, I'm getting stressed out about it.
02:57We could have forced the sell on the piece that Mary's on.
03:00Like, I mean, he could have forced the sale on everything.
03:02So, yeah.
03:02This has been important to me to make sure that everybody was treated fairly in this situation.
03:14So, yeah, I fought him.
03:16I had some pretty big fights with him about it.
03:18So, in the end, we just kind of laid down.
03:21We just said, okay, we'll just do the best we can to clear this up and make it.
03:25You just get everybody there 25%.
03:30All right.
03:31You good?
03:32I was leaving the house today going, man, it's going to be a little cooler up there.
03:40If it's cloudy here, it's blowing usually.
03:42Well, yeah, it was snowing on the way out.
03:44So, perfect timing.
03:45They just stayed over there having this private little conversation with Justin.
03:49And I'm like, hi, we're over here.
03:52It was like, that was kind of weird to me.
03:55Hey, how are you?
03:57Long time no see.
03:58Yeah, it's been a while.
04:00I'm glad I'm here with Mary.
04:01It would be really awkward if I was standing here by myself.
04:05Hey, guys.
04:05Hi.
04:06How we doing?
04:06Good.
04:07Justin Bemis.
04:08Nice to meet you.
04:08Nice to meet you.
04:09Nice to finally meet you.
04:10Nice to meet you.
04:10Justin for the first time.
04:12I was going to say, this has been the first time.
04:13I almost feel like I should have gave you a hug.
04:15It's been a good journey.
04:17Glad to make the cut with the crew.
04:18So, thanks for having me.
04:20Looks like it's all coming together.
04:26I kept looking at Robin and Cody.
04:30And, you know, specifically Robin.
04:32Like, I wanted to catch her eye and just smile at her.
04:35And just put out a gesture of, hey, I'm cool.
04:40I looked at Mary several times.
04:42I never saw her look at me.
04:44I guess I just need to give her the space.
04:47Janelle did make some eye contact with me.
04:51Mary never made eye contact with me that I recall.
04:54Mary's probably going to say, Cody never made eye contact with me.
04:56I know Mary.
04:57Well, this looks like our last visit with the place.
05:04We basically already said all of our goodbyes.
05:07Okay.
05:08So, we've got some good memories here.
05:13A lot of good stuff.
05:15So, when we first bought the place, when we got here, the family moved into town.
05:21My kids just started jumping in, skinny dipping.
05:24I mean, they left their skivvies on.
05:26And I just figured I'd join them.
05:27So, the pond was almost full.
05:30When we first came, we were really idealistic.
05:32We thought this would work out.
05:37So, there's definitely some emotional attachment here.
05:40Garrison took so many photos out here of the night sky.
05:47I'm just grateful for the experiences that we did have with the land, with Coyote Pass.
05:52It's a special place.
05:54It's really special.
05:54And that view is killer.
05:56We're ready to go.
05:58I've got some stuff just to go over with you guys, just as far as making sure everything's
06:01spelt right and all the deeds are printed out and ready to go.
06:05The money will go a long way towards my new project.
06:07Good.
06:08Good.
06:09Came at a good time.
06:10Good.
06:11So.
06:14If you guys want to head around or come around and we can just double check.
06:18Okay.
06:19But yeah, everything's been printed out.
06:21Numbers as agreed upon are over here.
06:25Yeah, I just want to make sure everybody's got that.
06:27I looked, I kind of, I think this is what you said, right?
06:30Okay.
06:31The distribution dates and everything else.
06:32Yeah, I want to double check it just because, you know.
06:33Oh yeah.
06:34All right, I'm glad it's done.
06:41Glad, glad it's finally done.
06:45One chapter closed.
06:46Yeah.
06:48It's been real, brother.
06:49Thank you so much.
06:50So.
06:51I'll give you a hug, but you know, I'll give Robin a good one.
06:54Yours is next time, my man.
06:56Thank you so much.
06:56It was nice seeing you.
06:57Nice meeting you for the first time.
06:59It was good seeing you.
06:59Appreciate you guys.
07:00You too, absolutely.
07:01Thanks for all your help.
07:02Okay.
07:02Bye, guys.
07:03Thanks, Justin.
07:03You're welcome.
07:04Anytime.
07:07Like, they didn't even say hi, and they didn't even say bye.
07:11It was like, okay, I am invisible to you.
07:15I think Robin felt like she was going to be persecuted or attacked or something.
07:19And I'm like, no, we can be adults here, but whatever.
07:23It was super awkward, right?
07:24I think.
07:25It was so awkward.
07:27It was awkward, and I didn't think it'd be so awkward, but it was pretty awkward.
07:30They just didn't know what to do or how to have a normal conversation.
07:35You know, I didn't think we, you know, I don't really endorse fakeness and like, okay, let's
07:43pretend like everything's okay when it's not.
07:45Robin hates girl games.
07:48Yeah.
07:49And she reads nuance way different than me.
07:52Coyote Pass, from beginning to end, its inception, the purchase of it and everything,
08:00has been very complicated and messy from day one.
08:04It's finally done.
08:06It's finally done.
08:08Everybody's paid.
08:09Everybody can move on now.
08:11We have finally cut off these financial ties.
08:15And I am ashamed that it went so badly through the entire thing.
08:22The deal's done.
08:25This is a sad day.
08:28I mean, like, we're done.
08:29And I don't feel like celebrating.
08:31The toxicity at Coyote Pass, after everybody had been paid, was just too much.
08:38We should have pulled out the champagne with Justin, but we were still sort of sore.
08:43The wounds were still open.
08:48Amber, it was so weird.
08:50Like, I kind of figured it probably would be, but I had really high hopes that it would be a good thing.
08:57Well, hello, ladies.
08:59My girlfriends and I wanted to go travel, and we're going to go to New Orleans, because why not?
09:09So I heard that Coyote Pass is now sold.
09:11Cody, Robin, marriage, now they're all done with it.
09:13And all of the drama that happened for all of those years about it, I wasn't involved with it at all.
09:21I am so glad that I got out of the whole Coyote Pass thing when I left Cody.
09:27Look, I have no idea how much money they got for the property.
09:30No idea how much each of them made.
09:31And frankly, I don't care.
09:34Even if it was a better deal than I got when I sold my house, I really don't care.
09:37Oh, my gosh.
09:38It's not worth any amount of money.
09:41None.
09:42Hi.
09:43Hello.
09:44Christine and David.
09:45Okay, for facials?
09:47Yes.
09:47So do you guys get facials?
09:49Yes.
09:49She's forcing me unknown territory that I don't know if I want to do.
09:53I told him, I said, look, why don't we just have like a spa thing, maybe pedicures or something,
09:58and that or something led to a facial.
10:00Wait a minute.
10:00This is laying down.
10:01I thought a facial was like sitting up.
10:03I didn't know.
10:04I didn't know.
10:04I didn't know.
10:04This was like getting naked stuff.
10:05I didn't know.
10:06Not all the way.
10:07You guys trapped me into something here.
10:09Baby, I didn't know exactly how everybody does it.
10:12He calls it tricked.
10:13I call it gradual overwhelming.
10:16That's all.
10:17I told him we were going to go to one movie, and we ended up going to another movie completely.
10:21And then like parties, we, I mean, I say they're smaller than they actually are.
10:26But also, I don't always know how many people are coming either.
10:30And he thinks it's being trapped or tricked or whatever.
10:34But it's, I don't always know.
10:38I know.
10:38Yeah, you like this, don't you?
10:39Thanks, baby.
10:40I don't mean for you to be uncomfortable.
10:42No, I'm not uncomfortable.
10:43Oh, not uncomfortable.
10:44No, I'm not uncomfortable.
10:46You can come join me.
10:48I'll join you right here.
10:49I have to be in my bed.
10:51I'm a big fan of monogamy.
10:52I love it.
10:52I love that David's around all the time.
10:53I was so nervous at first before we moved in together.
10:56The thought of having a guy around all the time, I was like, what am I going to do with him?
10:59I have no idea.
11:00But no, it's totally easy.
11:03He's wonderful.
11:04He's just, he's consistent, and he's good.
11:07And he, he does the whole monogamy thing really, really well.
11:11So the renovations have been going on here at the house for a few months now.
11:24Things are moving along.
11:25At this point, I'm planning on eventually turning it into more of an event space.
11:31It's going to be great because the sun comes over.
11:33You're going to have shade here all day, but you're still going to get the warmth of the sun.
11:37The B&B is done.
11:39It's over.
11:39It's gone, but the house will never leave my family.
11:43I will make sure of that.
11:45Before we fix the walls, or they fix the walls, I want to write words on it.
11:50I love that.
11:51Like notes and positive words and stuff.
11:54I love it.
11:55I was thinking about this the other night.
11:56Hey, just any words?
11:58Words.
11:58Anything?
11:59Anything.
12:00Words or quotes or affirmations or whatever you want.
12:03I'm excited.
12:06Mm-hmm.
12:09I feel like the property was that last tie, that last anchor that now is dropped and released,
12:16and I don't have to worry about them.
12:17I don't have to worry about the property.
12:19I don't have to worry about the family, except for when I want to and if I want to.
12:23It's just nice to not have to worry about the property at Coyote Pass anymore.
12:29Absolutely, the stakes are well done.
12:39I love it.
12:40Isn't that perfect?
12:41I love it.
12:43Anyway.
12:44May the roof above us never fall in, and those gathered beneath it never fall out.
12:48Now that I'm home from Flagstaff, and everything's done with the property, and it was the weird
12:56situation, you know, with seeing everybody, I definitely want to share this information
13:02with Amber, you know, because I think she'd get a kick out of it.
13:05I want an update.
13:06Are you at peace with how it all got worked out with Coyote Pass?
13:16I'm at peace with the fact that it's been worked out.
13:19Fair enough.
13:20Fair enough.
13:21Amber, it was so weird.
13:24Like, I kind of figured it probably would be, but I had really high hopes that it would
13:28be a good thing.
13:30Like, he did not look at me once.
13:33There was one time that we might have caught eyes, like, in passing really quick.
13:38She, on purpose, had never...
13:39That's just heartbreaking.
13:40...never looked at me.
13:42It was the dumbest thing.
13:44We have this history.
13:46We should be able to interact and be decent with each other.
13:50Yeah.
13:50I just really, really am enjoying this phase of my life.
13:55Now that the property's sold, I'm kind of talking about dating a little bit, you know
14:00what I mean?
14:01And it's like, that's also been a very interesting thing.
14:04And I'm enjoying the process.
14:07It's a fun ride.
14:18Look, Maddie's almost had a front row seat to this Coyote Pass drama.
14:22She's the only one who probably will get it, of my kids.
14:25Like, will get how dramatic this has been.
14:28You can bring us down stuff.
14:30The restaurant's in your room, okay?
14:33What would you like to order?
14:34What drink?
14:35A water with no ice and bring me a whole lemon that I can slice myself.
14:38And a knife.
14:39Stop.
14:39I've heard that before.
14:40Stop.
14:41Stop.
14:42It's a joke.
14:42It's a joke that you would understand.
14:44Bring me a water with no ice.
14:45Coyote discovered water with lemon in it and that warm water really works better for his digestion.
14:50So, whenever we used to go somewhere, he'd always ask the waiter for room temperature
14:55or warm water and a whole lemon.
14:58He wanted to cut his own lemon.
15:00Look, he tipped well.
15:02And people were usually okay to accommodate him.
15:06So, I have to tell you.
15:09So, like, I went out to the property.
15:12It was so awkward.
15:13Like, Robin didn't even say anything.
15:15She kind of, like, sort of, like, just there because she had some obligation to be there or whatever.
15:20Do you know what I mean?
15:21She didn't...
15:22We had to sign.
15:23That was it.
15:23Talk to you at all?
15:24Mm-mm.
15:26Or marry at all?
15:28It was just weird.
15:29And then we're like, we all signed the paper and we're like, okay.
15:32They didn't say hi to you, hey.
15:34No.
15:35No.
15:35They just pretend like you didn't exist?
15:36We just all got there and Justin started talking and then Cody and Justin started talking
15:40and Mary and I just kind of stood there like props.
15:41Like, it was so weird.
15:43It was weird and I'm really, really glad it's over.
15:45I'm glad it's done.
15:47I no longer have to think about Cody Brown.
15:49He doesn't...
15:49He doesn't have any...
15:51Any hold over me.
15:53This is done.
15:54This chapter's closed.
15:55My girlfriends and I wanted to go travel and we're going to go to New Orleans because
16:00why not?
16:03It looks like the dead thing's in the corner of the bathroom or something.
16:06Like, no.
16:07Oh, that's so gross.
16:08Like, none of the sister wives would have been up for bugs.
16:11I can pretty much guarantee that.
16:22How are you feeling, babe?
16:23What?
16:24Are you sleeping?
16:24No, never.
16:27You know me.
16:28Once I lay down, I'm gone.
16:29I know.
16:30Seven seconds is your record.
16:33Danielle told me the other day I was a terrible monogamist.
16:35And she's like, how independent were you before?
16:39And I said, very.
16:40There is stuff that is like, hello, I need to communicate.
16:44There's a lot of things we got to communicate.
16:46It's a whole new world.
16:48So Danielle's my sister.
16:49Lovely.
16:50She always has really good advice.
16:51She just looked at me.
16:52She goes, you are a terrible monogamist.
16:54I take over.
16:55I take over a house.
16:56I take over everything.
16:58Babe, it's hard.
16:59It is still hard.
17:01Marriage is something that you work at.
17:03You work at being married.
17:04You know, you work at being a monogamist.
17:05I'm just new to this whole monogamy thing.
17:07And it's just very different than polygamy.
17:09It's very different from being single.
17:10It really is about having this partner and learning how to just rely on somebody else.
17:16It's just a whole new thing to figure out.
17:19I have wondered, like, could I live monogamy after living in a plural family?
17:22Because I had so much independence and so much freedom.
17:25I mean, maybe.
17:25I don't know.
17:26Probably.
17:28You're doing good.
17:29We're figuring it out.
17:30As it comes along, we address it and figure it out.
17:32I appreciate your patience, too.
17:35It's all new.
17:36You know?
17:38Oh, no.
17:39Hey!
17:39Hey!
17:43Whoa.
17:44I got a thing on my head.
17:45You look like a pretty princess.
17:47A pretty princess?
17:48Yes.
17:49Wow.
17:50Look, David gives and gives and gives and gives.
17:53All the time.
17:54He gives all day at work.
17:55He fixes people's problems all day, every day.
18:00At the end of the day, he deserves to be pampered.
18:04I feel like a million dollars already.
18:08Awesome.
18:09I think you.
18:10Keep your eyes closed.
18:11Mm-hmm.
18:13And cover them with a seaweed extract.
18:16Oh, baby!
18:17It's like a cucumber situation.
18:19Yeah, you laugh it up.
18:21Mm-hmm.
18:21Okay, what is that?
18:26This is a jelly seaweed mask.
18:28I lost my man card somewhere on the floor.
18:30Can someone find it?
18:32Baby, you have a great man card.
18:33I don't know what you're doing.
18:34Only real men get this stuff.
18:37Whoa.
18:39Whoa.
18:39What is that?
18:43That is awesome.
18:45In polygamy, there wasn't someone else to talk to all the time about things.
18:49I just figured it out myself, and I just fixed things myself.
18:52Versus in monogamy, I have to communicate more.
18:54There's so much to talk to about things.
18:56So I'm really honestly learning how to communicate at 52 years old.
19:01It's amazing.
19:02Thank you for coming with me.
19:04You're welcome.
19:05It's a fun date.
19:06Yeah, you owe me.
19:12So I'm in New Orleans today.
19:13I think that's how you're supposed to say it.
19:14I grew up saying New Orleans, and I don't think that's right.
19:17Anyway, I'm here.
19:17I have my girlfriends.
19:18It's really hard for us to get together because everybody's busy with their lives.
19:20But we all decided to take a few days and meet here in New Orleans.
19:26Coyote pass is done.
19:27That weight is off my shoulders.
19:29I got a little bit of cash in my pocket, and I'm going to just go have a little bit of fun,
19:32just a little bit, with my girlfriends.
19:34This is my next chapter of, A, I want to bring this dream to fruition at the farm,
19:40but also to just kind of explore all these things that I never did.
19:48Yeah, we're Janelle's friend group that likes to get her out and get her to do stuff,
19:51kind of break her out of her shell, have a little fun.
19:54When I met Janelle, I knew about polygamy.
19:56I just didn't know a lot of how it worked, the inner workings of it,
20:00but I've definitely heard of it and seen people that live that lifestyle.
20:03It's very intriguing.
20:04We've all just supported her no matter what she wanted to do
20:08because we've heard her talk about living polygamy again,
20:14like it's an open option.
20:17So we would support her in whatever she wants to do.
20:20I think Janelle definitely should get out and date and start opening her heart.
20:26I feel like she went through a lot of hits,
20:28and I think that she should be, like, have a romantic-o kind of situation, you know?
20:33I don't know if I'm Janelle's wingwoman on this trip,
20:36but if the perfect man presents himself, I'm definitely going to take the opportunity to introduce him.
20:42What I like is they push my boundaries a little bit,
20:44just because they're, I grew up so conservatively, and I got married young,
20:48and I'm like, there's a lot of things, and I'm like, hmm, I don't know.
20:51I just never have done that before.
20:53Is gator on the stick fried or grilled?
20:55I have no idea.
20:56I don't know.
20:57I would say fried.
20:58I'm going to find out.
20:58I'm going to say it's probably fried.
21:00Can I have mine well done, please?
21:03I know that my girlfriends would love for me to really let my hair down.
21:08I'm going to take baby steps.
21:09It's going to be baby steps.
21:12Oh, wow.
21:12It's kind of...
21:13Cheers, everyone.
21:14Hold on.
21:15Cheers.
21:15Cheers to gators.
21:17Cheers to gators.
21:18Okay.
21:21I'm not mad about it.
21:25Spicy.
21:26Interesting.
21:27It has a really different aftertaste.
21:29Yeah.
21:30Greasy, but it's good.
21:31Because they're spicy a little bit.
21:32Not my favorite.
21:34I like it.
21:37This trip is about baby steps, trying new things.
21:40Food is a very easy baby step.
21:42It's a little step in the new chapter of my life or whatever that this is kicking off.
21:48Okay.
21:49We've got dark chocolate crickets.
21:52Oh.
21:53Okay.
21:54Open.
21:54I'm...
21:55I'm...
21:55It's about new stuff.
21:57New chances.
21:58So we're going to do mixed bugs.
21:59Cheers.
22:00Okay.
22:01Why did I get a big one?
22:02Crickets.
22:02Crickets.
22:08Put those little seeds on it so that you don't think it's insect crunching.
22:11I think it's...
22:12Probably the insect.
22:15Oh, no.
22:16Oh, God.
22:17Here you go.
22:19You do it.
22:19Oh, no.
22:20No, I can't.
22:20Oh, my goodness.
22:21No, these are real bugs.
22:23Like, not...
22:24No, I can't.
22:25No.
22:25Are they moving?
22:26It looks like the dead thing's in the corner of the bathroom or something.
22:29Like, no.
22:29Oh, that's so gross.
22:31Oh, my God.
22:31There's, like, roaches in here.
22:32Is there a big one?
22:33Oh, no.
22:33No.
22:34Oh, oh.
22:35Maybe we can share one roach.
22:36No.
22:37Oh.
22:38No.
22:39They look like what's in your bathroom.
22:41Okay.
22:41I'm just going to do a little buddy here.
22:43Okay.
22:44Without the wings.
22:45Okay.
22:46It's like a maggot.
22:47It is.
22:49It's like a maggot.
22:49Did you eat that?
22:50I did.
22:51I did.
22:51I...
22:52It doesn't taste like anything.
22:53You have to chew it.
22:54Okay.
22:54Okay.
22:54Here we go.
22:55It's like crunchy air.
22:55We got this, Janelle.
22:56New life adventure.
22:59Oh.
22:59You nailed it.
23:01It's all about the crunch, right?
23:03It is.
23:04I can't do it.
23:04I cannot do that.
23:05That's so nasty.
23:06Well, we did it.
23:08Yeah.
23:08Yeah.
23:09Cheers.
23:10The chocolate one was like, okay.
23:11But the other one, like, no.
23:13No.
23:14Nope.
23:14Nope.
23:14Nope.
23:15Nope.
23:15Nope.
23:15Nope.
23:15Nope.
23:16Nope.
23:16Nope.
23:18Like, none of the sister wives would have been up for bugs.
23:21I can pretty much guarantee that.
23:22So my friends are troopers, man.
23:24We're like, they're going to like, okay, we're going to do it.
23:26Like, I don't think any of my sister wives would have been up for bugs.
23:29And we'll see what happens next.
23:35I'm just exhausted and so tired of being blamed for how his kids feel about him.
23:41There will always be a Cody-sized hole in their hearts if you're not there.
23:46We said to go to New Orleans because, well, it was winter-ish, fall, and this was warm.
23:58Going to be warmer than some of the other places we've talked about.
24:01Listen, beach resorts are great.
24:03But I wanted to have a little bit more of an adventure than just sitting on the beach.
24:07Well, hello, ladies.
24:08Woo-hoo, look at those.
24:09Got to give me all your hurricanes.
24:11Like, when I was on the trips with my sister wives, it was a very different relationship than girlfriend.
24:16My friends are all easygoing.
24:18Nobody has to control the schedule.
24:20Nobody has to, like, be the boss.
24:22Like, we're all just like, yeah, you want to go to that?
24:23Okay, yeah, let's go do it.
24:24We should do a cheers to letting go and finding ourselves.
24:27There you go.
24:27Love you.
24:30I really didn't even have girlfriends until the last couple of years.
24:35I was always busy with my kids, or I was busy, I was just involved with the family.
24:41Or before that, I lived so secretly, I didn't really have an option of making a lot of girlfriends.
24:46But probably in the last five years or so, I finally have had some girlfriends.
24:50And I'm like, wow, this is kind of fun.
24:52I've missed having girlfriends.
24:55Why are you pointing it towards me?
24:58Hold on, is it going to pop?
25:00I don't know.
25:00Probably.
25:01Don't hurt yourself.
25:02I have faith in you.
25:03Oh!
25:04Nailed it.
25:05Here you go, cheers.
25:06Good job.
25:07My first tag.
25:08Pop.
25:09I think in some ways, plural, when you have a plural family, because you have to make the
25:13team work, you have to sort of play up certain parts of your personality and kind of downplay
25:18other parts.
25:19It's fine.
25:19I did not live a compromised life.
25:21I did not live an unhappy life.
25:22But I sort of forgot how to have fun a little bit.
25:27This is cute.
25:28I love what you've got.
25:29Well, I know.
25:29From the hotel room.
25:30It was so cute.
25:31It was downstairs in the snack bar.
25:32Yeah, this is so cute.
25:33Because I'm like, we probably better not have...
25:35It's like glamping.
25:36And I'm happy there's no bugs in the hair.
25:38Crickets are a gator.
25:40Yeah, I'll tell you.
25:40That was an experience.
25:42That was gross.
25:42We're going to do it again.
25:43There's no chocolate on here, is there?
25:45Yeah.
25:45I'm hiding.
25:46Disguised as crickets.
25:48But I think for many years, I hid a little bit.
25:52Like, I hid a lot of who I was.
25:54I hid a lot of, like, being so open.
25:58It feels a little bit scary and uncomfortable to step out of that.
26:00But, like, I'm working on it.
26:02So, how do you like North Carolina?
26:05Like, honestly?
26:06Like, the idea that I'm going to live in a house.
26:08Like, that I don't have to, like, move.
26:10Cody always was like, we've got to move.
26:11There was always so much, always so much chaos.
26:15Like, there was just chaos to live with him.
26:16How exhausting.
26:18Like, I think it was, and I've realized now that life was just always overwhelming.
26:22When, the whole time I was ever with him.
26:23And living in constant chaos is so exhausting.
26:25You know, Cody turned 50, and all of a sudden he started making all this noise about,
26:29he was carrying the whole family.
26:32And I think he had this wife who just was his soulmate or whatever.
26:36And I just think he, I just think he was like, I'm not, it's too exhausting.
26:40I don't see Caleb or Mitch or anybody saying, oh, I'm done.
26:44You guys just figure it out because I have so much responsibility.
26:47I don't see that.
26:48You know what I mean?
26:49And here's Cody with all this family.
26:50And he's like, oh, I don't know.
26:52Like, I'm tired of carrying the burden.
26:53It's aging me.
26:54Like, I don't think you really say that when you have a family.
26:57But whatever.
26:59I never shook my responsibilities ever in this family.
27:02I was there.
27:03I was always there.
27:04And I gave 110% every time.
27:06I felt like I wasn't getting that from the rest of my family.
27:11I got three ex-wives who are going, Cody changed, Cody changed, Cody changed.
27:15All right.
27:16I guess we all went through menopause together because there is such thing as melmenopause.
27:20And my testosterone probably just fell to the floor.
27:22And I just didn't want to do the hard work anymore.
27:32The selling of Coyote Pass is a form of closure.
27:35We're all separated.
27:36It's done.
27:37It's, everybody's moving on.
27:40I would really like to move myself from a place of blaming.
27:44And I would like everybody to stop blaming me.
27:48I've been thinking.
27:49You've been thinking.
27:50Yeah.
27:51And I've been struggling with some old relationships and how they haven't been improving, getting
28:07better, or even having any interaction.
28:11I'm wondering if I could, if you think that getting a good therapist would help me in figuring
28:17out, you know, sort of getting around some of my issues with my kids, my older kids, and
28:25trying to get a place where I'm comfortable communicating with them.
28:31I think that's great.
28:34I've got to work on me because I'm angry about what a lot of the kids have said, done, and
28:38believed.
28:39But I've also got to have the tools to be able to engage a relationship, putting my feelings
28:44aside and inviting them to step into a space where we can communicate safely and lovingly.
28:52Have you ever been in a spot like this where you just didn't want to talk to anybody anymore?
28:56Talk to anybody anymore?
28:57A person.
28:58A person that was.
28:59Really?
29:00You've been there before?
29:01Yeah, definitely.
29:02Okay.
29:02And I continue to try, and I will.
29:07You do anyway.
29:08I do it anyway.
29:09Even when it's hard, I do it.
29:11If the relationship is of value to me, when you talk about family, it's like, I think it
29:18deserves more shots.
29:21I think there's some hurt feelings and misunderstandings and some influencing that's been happening,
29:29some pretty intense influencing, and I just feel like that, I feel like it's so important
29:37for your kids to have a relationship with you, and for you to have one with them, and
29:40for them to have one with me.
29:44I don't think parents actually completely realize how much little things they say actually influence
29:53the way their children think about the other parent.
29:57And in plural marriage, dad's not around the same amount as mom.
30:04I'm just exhausted.
30:05I'm so tired of being blamed for how his kids feel about him.
30:09It's his responsibility, not mine.
30:12Look, I wish I had a lot of influence on my adult children.
30:16Boy, things would be really different.
30:17I've reached out to every one of my children.
30:19I've reached out to every one of my children, and multiple times.
30:23And if they don't have a relationship with me, it's because they're not reciprocating.
30:28No matter what any of them say, there will always be a Cody-sized hole in their hearts
30:34if you're not there.
30:41Do you like tall, short kings?
30:43There has to be a minimum height requirement.
30:45Even roller coasters have that.
30:46I wish so badly that I could have fixed things with my own dad while he was alive.
30:55My girlfriends all have a plan that I'm going to meet somebody like, I'm like, I just don't
31:11think that's reality.
31:11Like, that's a TV movie or something.
31:13That's not real.
31:15My kids are kind of waiting for me to, like, start dating.
31:17Oh, they are?
31:18Okay.
31:19I think so.
31:19They're like, well, what about mama?
31:21Us too.
31:23That's odd.
31:23That's odd that everyone around you is.
31:26You know, I will say, I will say, though, like, okay, look, it was a hard no.
31:29Like, for at least, at least for the last couple of years, it's been a hard no.
31:32And now it's kind of like, maybe.
31:35The farm is my passion and everything, but I do need to have a life away from it.
31:39Trying to get enrolled in some of the classes and stuff in the community.
31:42Just trying to, like, meet some people.
31:43Oh, yeah, you're going to do your, um, Pilates?
31:45Maybe.
31:46Yeah.
31:46Yeah.
31:47You have to go to the hardware store to meet a guy.
31:48Or the farm and tractor suppliers.
31:50Yes, exactly.
31:51Farm supply, farm litterers, ag supplies.
31:53I don't remember what they call it there.
31:55Well, I can tell you right now, he's not allowed to wear a visor.
31:59Under any circumstance.
32:00That's like, good.
32:01Not to do.
32:03I don't know what you want, but I do know what you don't want.
32:05I have a very clear picture of that in my head.
32:07Christina really has a thing about his visor.
32:09She just thinks it's so funny.
32:12Oh, she makes a lot of references to it.
32:16My friends definitely don't pull any punches when they come to their opinions of Cody, for sure.
32:19So what do you guys think the guy, like her perfect guy, what qualities would he have?
32:27Yeah, just physically.
32:28Let's start there.
32:28Do you like tall, short kings?
32:31I, you know, it doesn't matter.
32:32Blonde.
32:33Did you go blonde again?
32:34See, so it's funny.
32:35I was like really, I was always more attracted to brunettes than I ended up with Cody.
32:38Oh, okay.
32:39Keep it coming.
32:39Muscular.
32:39Um, there has to be a minimum height requirement.
32:43Even roller coasters have that.
32:47I'm serious.
32:47Yeah, no, probably at least, at least a little taller than me would be good.
32:51Yeah, you don't want the wrong side of 5'8".
32:53But I'm only 5'5".
32:53Like, I'm only 5'5".
32:54That's true.
32:54You know what I mean?
32:55What about like body type?
32:56Do you like?
32:56Um, I need stocky enough to handle life.
33:01Yeah.
33:01And someone who values family.
33:04I think family, for sure.
33:05Maybe someone who has kids and grandkids, like David, who is a family man.
33:09Yeah, that was good, because Christine had a big, you know, because I have a big family.
33:12I think this impulsive trip has turned out to be very, a good thing.
33:15Like, it's been a good thing.
33:17Well, I've actually realized now that there is one more thing I need to do.
33:23To cut that tie with Cody, like completely cut the tie.
33:26And I need to have that spiritual release.
33:28Like, there's still some sort of a psychic bond because of it to Cody, so I just want
33:35to cut that.
33:37I mean, I treated my marriage as if it was just the same as a legal marriage.
33:40It was to me.
33:40Yeah.
33:41Is it just the women that have to get a spiritual release?
33:45The men can do it also.
33:46Yeah.
33:46So they can get one too?
33:47Yeah.
33:47I mean, he could have initiated it.
33:49Okay.
33:49Exactly.
33:50If he wanted to.
33:50He doesn't want to be the one to make those decisions.
33:55So I feel like, yeah.
33:56They're usually a lot harder on the men.
33:57Like, what the hell's wrong with you?
33:59So that's probably why he doesn't go.
34:00Thanks.
34:01Yeah.
34:01Like, you're here again?
34:03Yeah.
34:04How many times is this guy going to get released?
34:09He's a frequent flyer.
34:12Buy one.
34:13Come on with you.
34:14Free for free.
34:16Yeah, maybe you could get a BOGO on that release ceremony.
34:18It's not just been one divorce.
34:29It's been three.
34:31And that's a lot to take to your self-confidence.
34:36The fact that Cody is still functioning as well as he is, is a freaking miracle, considering
34:42what has been dumped on top of his head.
34:46There's a phrase I heard.
34:48The knife of the father is never out of the heart of his children.
34:52That's what my point is.
34:54That breaks my heart.
34:56See?
34:57I want to...
34:59I wish so badly that I could have fixed things with my own dad while he was alive.
35:15I told Grandma Cheryl once.
35:17I said, but I said, Cheryl, but I would do what I would give to sit down and have a couple
35:33beers with my dad.
35:36And she just looked at me and said, I think he would have really liked that.
35:41But I got a beer with Garrison the last time we ate together.
35:44I'm sure that that was a sweet memory for him.
35:47But that's like, you're talking about this experience.
35:53And those are like, you know, you have some regrets.
35:57Being able to do that with your kids would really be a benefit, you know?
36:04When I see Cody being rejected by his kids, I see myself.
36:11My dad, Paul, married my mom when I was about nine years old.
36:18While my dad, Paul, was absolutely wonderful to me.
36:22And while I was angry and did reject my biological father for years,
36:27I do understand how much I needed him and still would love to have him in my life.
36:34And in my kids' life.
36:36I look like him.
36:45I look like my biological father.
36:47I look like you're more than my mom.
36:54This has been a really, really complicated, hard situation probably for them to understand.
37:00It's been very, very confusing, I'm sure.
37:03Probably.
37:03I had a lot of mean things to say about their mothers as part of the problem.
37:08That's not good.
37:09No, that wasn't a road I should have ever gone down.
37:16The Coyote Pass being wrapped up is a really, could be a positive thing.
37:22When you have nothing to fight over, then you kind of like, oh, it takes a lot of yourself, I guess.
37:28I don't have a voice with Janelle or Mary or Christine, but I do with Cody.
37:33I was like, you need to find yourself again, because you've lost that good man that I married.
37:42Still to come on Sister Wives.
37:44After that whole experience in Coyote Pass, I want to set him free.
37:48So how are you going to do that?
37:50I go and apologize.
37:53He wants to extend an olive branch.
37:55I need to know what the motive is.
37:57Come on, girl.
37:59Here's to Janelle getting a new man.
38:01All right.
38:02How are you?
38:03Ron is in town, and I can't help but smile.
38:07Sorry.
38:08So I met Ron at a speed dating event.
38:11I am so happy right now, Ron.
38:13I love that.
38:15This is my journey.
38:17My hope is for them to receive it well.
38:19I just wanted to come and say that I apologize.
38:24Wow.
38:25I don't have a lot of trust with Cody.
38:28Hey, I am walking into an environment where trust has been killed.
38:31Suck those beers down, because I've got some fun stuff to share with you.
38:34Oh, my God.
38:34Now I'm nervous.
38:36As far as extending an olive branch, I think there'll be hidden barbs in there.
38:40I apologize.
38:40Here's the huge one.
38:42For saying I didn't love you.
38:44This is my husband here.
38:46Why do you think this is appropriate?
38:47So I'm having a conversation tomorrow with Cody.
38:49I get a little bit nervous thinking that it could go really, really wrong.
38:54Apology is so needed here, because this is still so toxic.
38:59Do you apologize that you are toxic to me?
39:03His energy f***ed with my energy.
39:05I apologize that I didn't seem to chew it.
39:08Okay, you got to stop with the apologize word.
39:10The more you use it, the more it feels insincere.
39:13We've had a hard run.

39:25But she's gonna know.
39:30I think Cody and Janelle were trying to kick me out.
39:35They have no problem cutting her out and letting her just take s***.
39:38I do not agree with things that he does.
