00:00Yeah, now you got Ohio State hosting Rutgers, senior day,
00:05and there's some questions, right?
00:06You got a line that's over 30, and maybe Cardinal Tate, maybe not,
00:13maybe Jeremiah Smith, maybe not.
00:15A lot of younger guys playing, got the game the following weekend.
00:19How do you bet this game, Ben?
00:22It's interesting, Schlegs, because Ohio State, this is not the first time
00:26they have been a four-touchdown favorite or even north of 30 points
00:29this year, and basically every time against Purdue, last week, of course,
00:34for the Buckeyes as well, they have covered these numbers
00:37or had an opportunity to.
00:39Purdue scored in the final two minutes of that game to come through the back
00:42door despite the fact the Oilers had the early lead, 3-0.
00:45Ohio State has been winning these games by margin this year for the Buckeyes,
00:49and last week against UCLA was no different.
00:52Now, in terms of the lack of availability, it would not shock me,
00:56and you guys know more than I do, in C-Bus, if Ryan Day rests Cardinal Tate
01:00and Jeremiah Smith for the game the following week on the road in Ann Arbor.
01:05But even if we don't see Julian saying for more than three quarters,
01:09even if we don't see some of the starters on the defensive side of the football,
01:12I would still think Ohio State wins this game comfortably in the 25-30 range.
01:16I would not lay 32.5 knowing what is coming up the very next week
01:20against the Maize and Blue in the big house in Ann Arbor.
01:24But I still think Ohio State wins the game by a pretty good margin.
01:27All right, Ben, the last couple minutes here, some of the Heisman odds.
01:31Ty Simpson took a little bit of a hit.
01:33I believe Mendoza is the favorite now saying behind him.
01:37Those guys will probably have a couple more weeks.
01:39Who do you like right now, and kind of where do you think it's going with a few weeks left?
01:44Listen, I think both of the quarterbacks still between Fernando Mendoza
01:47and Julian saying are the front runners.
01:49I do not necessarily believe that Marcel Reid is on the same tier as either saying or Mendoza.
01:55What is really interesting from the odds perspective now,
01:57Mendoza after the historic performance last week at home against Wisconsin,
02:01you got to put up yards against Wisconsin.
02:03Julian saying did the same thing a few weeks prior at the shoe.
02:06When you look at that performance for Mendoza,
02:09that has made him now the even money favorite to win the Heisman Trophy, plus 100.
02:13What's really interesting, Bobby, is I think the winner of the Big Ten Championship game
02:17in which quarterback has the best performance leading their team to a conference crown
02:21is going to end up being in that full position to win the Heisman Trophy
02:24at the awards ceremony the next week in New York City.
02:27Is it fair?
02:28Is it the way that it should happen?
02:29That's not really for us to decide.
02:31I'm just telling you what the narrative is going to be
02:33and what the voters are more than likely going to do
02:35in terms of where that value is from the odds perspective.
02:38So Mendoza is the favorite at plus 100.
02:41Julian saying back by about a buck at plus 190.
02:43And yet the projected line for Ohio State versus Indiana
02:47in a Big Ten Championship game is five and a half points
02:50in favor of the Buckeyes, a minus 230 price in terms of that money line.
02:55If you think Ohio State wins the Big Ten Championship as a team,
02:59I would bet Julian saying a plus 190 to win the Heisman Trophy.
03:02If you think Fernando Mendoza is going to win the Heisman Trophy
03:05because IU is going to win a Big Ten title,
03:08then I might look at both his number
03:10and more than likely the Hoosiers money line
03:12in that Big Ten Championship game.
