00:00You know, when I think about these two teams in action today,
00:04I want to just start with Ohio State-Kenn State.
00:07And I am very interested in the Ohio State response against Kent State.
00:14I know there are a lot of people who are going to step up to the window.
00:17Oh, they're going to be so angry, 52-and-a-half point favorite.
00:21You know, Jeremiah Smith's going to have 200 yards, six touchdowns.
00:24Like, I know how everybody feels going into this game.
00:27But for Ohio State, ultimately, like, you're fine, right?
00:36You didn't plummet off of a one-point loss at Texas.
00:40You have to handle your business in Big Ten play.
00:44And that starts following the Kent State game at home against Illinois.
00:48I am very interested to see how Julian Sane follows that up
00:55because I thought, Dave, that might have been the low point of his collegiate career.
01:01The efficiency was poor.
01:04And it felt like a guy who was – let's be very clear.
01:09I know Dave remembers this.
01:10He would have won the Heisman Trophy last year
01:12if Ohio State won the Big Ten championship game and not Fernando Mendoza.
01:17It felt like Julian Sane was simply a product of Jeremiah Smith coming off the Texas game.
01:24So I'm curious to see, Dave, how he in particular responds.
01:29I understand it's Kent State, but I think that's still interesting.
01:32Yeah, and I gave the numbers out last week to you on the show.
01:35He didn't look good against the top ten teams last year.
01:39They beat Texas, but Texas easily could have won that game.
01:43He didn't play well against Indiana.
01:44He didn't play well against Miami.
01:46And then you look at it, and he didn't play well against Texas this time around.
01:50So, yes, in historical nature, he was one win away from winning that Heisman Trophy,
01:56but didn't play well in that game.
01:57And now you start – in the back of your mind, you were talking about that
02:01in the back of your mind with Levitt.
02:02In the back of your mind, you start questioning whether Sane is the big game quarterback
02:06that can get Ohio State to the promised land
02:09because they're going to have to play these teams again come December,
02:12whether it's Indiana twice, whether it's playing a semifinal or a quarterfinal somewhere.
02:17And Julian Sane has not shown yet that he can have good numbers in a big game.
02:23And you question, maybe it is the wide receiver who looked like the best player in the world
02:28in the first three quarters last week.
02:30And believe it or not, his Heisman numbers got shorter and better in a loss
02:35because of how good Jeremiah Smith looked.
02:38I think you're now taking Sane out of the Heisman race for this year
02:42because there's too many other people who have done well.
02:44So he's a casualty of it, as is Dante Moore.
02:47Now he just has to win games.
02:49If you're looking at today's game for Ohio State, Kent State, and full transparency,
02:52I do not have a play on this game.
02:54If you think Ohio State's going to be angry, play the first half.
02:58Why?
02:58Because 52-and-a-half doesn't mean crap in the fourth quarter.
03:01And you can easily get a backdoor touchdown
03:03or they can be playing third or fourth strings the way Georgia used to play it.
03:07I can smell an Ohio State just like Oregon did last night
03:10and get up 42-nothing at halftime and then lay off the gas
03:14and win something in the nature of 51-10.
03:17If you like Ohio State, the play to me is the first half,
03:20maybe even the first quarter, come out there and prove a point.
03:23They're not going to care in the fourth quarter,
03:25and that's why I'm never going to lay 52-and-a-half points.
03:28So if you like them, play them early.
03:30For Texas UTSA, guys, this is a 29-and-a-half point number.
03:34Kind of a little round-robin here of Texas UTSA and Texas State.
03:39I like when you get the in-state stuff here a little bit.
03:43And while there are some archmanning props that are pretty interesting,
03:47the number that popped to me when breaking this game down
03:50was actually the Relique Brown rushing yard prop at 63-and-a-half.
03:56So we come into this season, Texas is supposed to have a two-headed monster,
03:59Brown and Smothers.
04:00Smothers becomes maybe the sure hand, scores the touchdown.
04:04Okay, he's got the higher prop.
04:06Relique Brown actually still had multiple carries
04:08on what was that game-winning drive.
04:10Despite his fumble, they did not give up on him.
04:13UTSA's rush defense to start the year,
04:16okay, they allowed two different guys to go for 99-plus on Texas State,
04:21289 total yards.
04:23But more importantly, they let UT Rio Grande Valley
04:26go for over five yards a carry.
04:29Pick your poison.
04:30I think Relique Brown could flirt with 100 in this spot.
04:33So we're going to play his rush yards over.
