00:00So I'm with a lovely lot again, and I'm with Esther. Esther, what have you won?

00:06So we've won the award for nurturing our art, culture and heritage.

00:10We are Manannan's Winterfest, and we put on a show every year at the Gator Theatre,

00:16and include all the art and culture of the Isle of Man, trying to make sure that people have the opportunity to showcase their talent, basically.

00:23And there's a lot of talent isn't there, and I just want to ask you guys, where did it all start, how did it come about, why did you do it?

00:29So many places don't.

00:31Well, it was myself and a man called Esther's brother, David Kilgallen.

00:36We founded the show eight years ago.

00:39We just felt that the island needed to have a Christmas show featuring traditional Manx music and culture,

00:48and it's just really grown from there.

00:51Unfortunately, David's not here to receive the awards, but...

00:55We are.

00:57And you're happy to do it.

00:58But we're backstage, and we heard that roar.

01:00We heard when you guys won.

01:01I need to quickly speak to this lovely gentleman here who's going to tell me,

01:05why do King Williams College and the Booking get involved with awards like this?

01:08Not every business does.

01:10No, this is the best award to be sponsoring tonight.

01:12It's the best category, focusing on the creative industries, which is the focus of this evening.

01:16And obviously the college and the school is plugged into the creative part of the island as well.

01:21We host a huge number of cultural events.

01:23Our children are part of the cultural setup of the island.

01:26So we're really proud to be sponsoring it.

01:28And well done to these guys for winning.

01:31Fantastic.

01:32And we at Media Alman are proud to put on an awards like this.

01:34How important do you think is it that companies and businesses get recognised in this way at the Villa for these type of awards?

01:40What do you think?

01:41It's massively important when prospective families come to us talking about relocating to the island,

01:46bringing their children, they're obviously focused on the education, which is great.

01:51But then when we tell them about all the other things that the island offers,

01:54not just motorbikes, which are great, but not just motorbikes and not just empty beaches,

01:59but the actual throbbing cultural scene in which these guys are part,

02:02then that's what really sells the island and that's what brings the people here.

02:06And that's fantastic.

02:08And I will not keep you any longer.
