00:00So, here I am with Mr. Beer and Mrs. Salt, and I know that's not their real names, but I am honestly amazed.

00:08This is my favourite award. Local food and drink, I think it's so important.

00:13Please tell me, honestly, your name seems to be everywhere, the Salt Company seems to be everywhere.

00:17Tell us how much this means to you, this award.

00:20It means so much. I was just saying to Ollie, I'm just really blown away.

00:24I absolutely genuinely love what I do, and people love it too, and it's just snowballed from there, really.

00:30So, yeah, I'm just going to keep on doing it, and there's loads more to come next year.

00:33Lots of exciting things.

00:34And the annoying thing here is, I've got a limited time of how much I can ask you,

00:37because I'd love to delve into how it started and all that, but to me, salt is salt,

00:42and a lot of people think that, but it's way more than that, isn't it?

00:45Give us a little glimpse into what you guys do.

00:47It's a lot there. Yeah, salt is everywhere, literally, and that's kind of how it started,

00:51literally hauling buckets of salt water back from our house across the road in lockdown,

00:55and we've just refined that process since then, and now it's grown into a bigger business

00:59that's stocked in Selfridges in the UK and all the amazing food halls here on the Isle of Man too.

01:04So, yeah, it's an essential element in everyone's cooking.

01:08Everybody should have salt car on their shelves.

01:10And I think the Isle of Man, not just you, even though you should be super proud,

01:13the award is amazing, but I think not just you, but the people from the Isle of Man

01:17are proud when they see that your things are in Selfridges, things like that.

01:21It's almost like a heartwarming feeling, I think, for the Manx community to see a brand like that

01:27started on the Isle of Man. But I do have to ask Ollie a question.

01:30And I think Ollie's been trying to ignore me. No, honestly, he hasn't.

01:33But Ollie, tell me, it's a massive deal for a company, I think, to sponsor an award like this.

01:40And I don't think that people appreciate it enough.

01:41To sponsor an award, I think, is showing.

01:44Because the mad thing is, it's not about just being friends and all this.

01:47It's about competitors sometimes are giving competitors an award.

01:51Why do Oakles get involved? Why do Herod and Brealey get involved?

01:57Obviously, Oakles celebrated its 175th year this year.

02:00So we wanted to celebrate the year with a nod towards local food and drink producers.

02:11Obviously, hospitality is absolutely key.

02:13But the food and drink producers have been having a tough time with it.

02:16The last few years.

02:17So we've done a number of collaborations.

02:22The guys at Fire Island, we did the chili sauce.

02:25We've done smoked salmon with Robinson's.

02:28There's a cheese coming soon.

02:30We've not done anything with Helen yet.

02:31But I'm sure we can.

02:34Sea salt beer.

02:39But no, this is massively sort of important.

02:43And I mean, separately, sort of, Helen and I have known each other for a few years.

02:48We sort of sit on the sort of a government sort of group or government sort of back group

02:51to sort of help local food and drink producers grow and see opportunity.

02:57So yeah, massively sort of proud and happy for...

03:00You've not had to pretend to like each other.

03:07But no, the point is here, I would say a massive corporation, but a lovely Isle of Man

03:15business supporting another lovely Isle of Man business.
