00:00Previously, on The Last Woodsville...
00:20Jared Douglas scrambles to fund a bid on an opportunity of a lifetime.
00:30The forever claim is the right to harvest that timber, as long as your business stays
00:36in business.
00:38This is the holy grail.
00:41But while racing to harvest and haul big timber to the barge...
00:44The wood has to get in the water.
00:46So we really need to move fast.
00:48...setbacks threaten to destroy his future.
00:51Come on, you son of a !
00:54It's toast, man.
00:56When we lose a machine outright, it hurts.
00:59It's like a man down in the army.
01:03Everything's lying on my shoulders.
01:04I have to keep going forward.
01:06I have to push forward.
01:07Roll with the punches.
01:09It's how you handle the chaos is going to measure if you're going to be successful or not in
01:13this business.
01:14Ready?
01:15I'm going to load the trailer back on.
01:22I'm going to load the trailer back on.
01:28I'm going to get another load.
01:35Logging full throttle for the past six days, it's an all-out scramble for the Cypress Creek crew.
01:54Just 48 hours remain until the deadline to fund the forever claim bid.
02:02To avoid defaulting, Jared must splash and barge enough big timber to secure the final $200,000.
02:11I've got to get some extra load into the water and ready for the log margin.
02:20Let's go get that money.
02:22Since the loss of a yarder last week, Jared hopes another fat truck will make up for time.
02:29This one with him at the wheel.
02:33We all got to pull on the rope.
02:34We all got to get this thing done.
02:38One of my mentors once told me you can never pay a man for a job that you can't do.
02:43I've done exactly what every single person in my company has done.
02:48There's a brotherhood in logging.
02:50You live it.
02:52You work within it.
02:54They become your family.
02:56I look at the people that rely on me.
02:58I can't quit.
02:59I have to keep going.
03:01And my crew knows that.
03:03They know that I'm going to be out there hustling.
03:09We're hauling about a 15-mile haul right now.
03:12You know, we'll get three loads a day, per truck.
03:15Three loads, that's a substantial amount of money.
03:18There's a loader.
03:29You're out here, right?
03:33Hey, do you got a turnout there, or do I got a backup?
03:36Oh, the one right behind you.
03:40Not much of one.
03:40The low timber, the 35-ton hauler must be backed in, avoiding a 1,000-foot drop on one side.
03:52I swear you got to give the road builder s**t.
04:04Just because you can turn a pickup truck around doesn't mean you can turn a logging truck around.
04:13Very good to back it, buddy.
04:17Okay, here we go.
04:18I don't see that big sexy red log loader in the back.
04:39And there we go.
04:40Locked and loaded.
04:42We're going to try to get an 80-ton load.
04:44Get a few minutes sleep.
04:45Keep the life of a truck driver.
04:52Further up the mountain.
05:03Oh, pretty steep, Jim.
05:07Fallers Jim Gardner and Rob Winger push higher into the untapped wilds of Big Cedar Country.
05:15What in the f**k?
05:21But a winter storm has left this face a wind-blown mess.
05:28There's a mountain of debris.
05:30Yeah, big time.
05:32Pacific gales can bring winds in excess of 90 miles per hour, causing widespread destruction
05:41and a whole host of problems for fallers.
05:43It's hit all these tops that are around us and broke a bunch of branches off.
05:48On top of that, the tops of these trees are all lying around the wood that we want to get at.
05:52There's going to be a few problems with this, but it looks like we have lots of really tall timber.
05:57Holy shnikes.
06:02Look at this.
06:03It looks like a pretty nice piece of wood.
06:07The heavy leaner cedar, it's kind of lean and heavy.
06:09Heavy at the rock bluff.
06:11Not so much at the hill.
06:14If it's solid, that's a beautiful piece of wood.
06:17Jesus.
06:18It's not going to be fun getting an escape trail through all this, especially for a 50-year-old.
06:26The last 30 years, I've been outside pretty much every day.
06:29I used to be the kid on the crew.
06:34And now it's like, holy sh**, I'm the old man.
06:36And why am I still doing it?
06:39I love it.
06:40Plus, I don't have enough money to retire.
06:43The way I want to retire, I want to buy a big farm and
06:46just relax with a bunch of animals that I can shoot and eat.
06:53What do you think, Jim?
06:54There's just so much wrong with this.
06:56Outside of being hit by all these trees, we've got ground debris.
07:01When this comes down and hits this, this stuff's going to teeter-totter everywhere.
07:09Across the rock is not really an option.
07:11Down there is definitely not an option.
07:14Falling across that rock is not an option.
07:16I think my best bet is to follow them up here.
07:18But to do that, I've got to follow it across all this blowdown in here.
07:22Right there, there's two broken ends on top of the blowdown.
07:25That's a pivot point to flick these 30-foot logs at me.
07:31This 150-foot-tall leaning tower of cedar is positioned to fall straight up the hill,
07:38onto rocks and stumps that could destroy its value.
07:41Instead, Rob will aim his undercut 45 degrees across the hill and onto a softer bed of debris.
07:50But with so much blowdown, there's also a high risk of blowback.
07:54It could hit that chunk right there.
07:59You're hiding behind the cedar, but it flips the top of that chunk back at you.
08:04I know a faller that he fell a tree, got out on his escape trail,
08:08was standing on the end of a windfall.
08:10The tree hit that windfall, pivoted, and launched him about 30-40 feet in the air.
08:16I can't remember what he broke, but it was a lot of bones.
08:20I definitely do not want that happening.
08:23So I'm going to have to, there's a good pivot point right there.
08:26I'll buck that right there.
08:27Try and buck this limbs and this windfall down,
08:30and then I'll work on an escape trail.
08:32I think that's what I'm going to have to do.
08:33We got our work cut out for us.
08:49Back near float cam.
08:58Oh yeah.
08:58Foreman Ross Davis and mechanic Adrian Bailey inspect the remains of the
09:03grapple yarder to determine how much can be salvaged.
09:10Cabs torched?
09:11Cabs ruined.
09:14Windows are all out, glass everywhere.
09:18I feel bad for the machine because I love these pieces of equipment.
09:21That's what really brought me into this industry was how interesting and unique
09:25this west coast equipment is, and it's not exactly pleasurable for me to watch it burn to the ground.
09:30At 120 tons, there's up to 30 grand in scrap steel and parts that can be sold.
09:38And if Adrian and Ross can avoid any more damage,
09:41the extra cash could mean the difference between Jared funding or defaulting on his bid.
09:46All right, well, first things first, let's get this thing on the ground.
09:54Our initial plan of attack is to cut the boom up.
09:57Okay, hang on here.
10:00There is a cable, it's called the topping line, and that holds it anchored to the rest of the machine,
10:05and we are going to cut that line.
10:08It's hazardous, as we are dropping a 20 ton boom to the ground.
10:15And Ross being the second set of eyes for me is going to be crucial.
10:21All right, Slough, be careful.
10:23Ready?
10:25Oh, God.
10:26The biggest concern to dropping this boom is the cables.
10:31Once that starts going and unwind them, it's going to be whipping all over the place.
10:35And that'll snap you and take your head off in a matter of seconds.
10:50The variables of life.
10:56I didn't see that one coming.
11:19What caught up?
11:27The tail up in the shiv up there.
11:30No.
11:31That didn't go as well as planned.
11:34Okay, we've just created basically a booby trap.
11:38Oh, yay.
11:41There's not really any safe way to cut this again.
11:44Now we have an uncontrolled, massively heavy load hanging over the ground like that.
11:50We have to neutralize this, for sure, immediately.
11:56We're in a hurry.
11:56A barge is coming, and they can't be delayed.
11:59This one's taking a little longer than expected.
12:03Okay, well, I got an idea.
12:05We'll get the excavator.
12:08Try smacking it down, and it should pull through there, I would think.
12:12Yeah.
12:12What could go wrong?
12:14A lot.
12:20I trust Ross fully, and when we work together, I just know that he's not going to
12:24get me injured or anything like that.
12:26He's a really good operator.
12:28That's as high as I can go.
12:30He's watching out for me while I work around him, and together working on this thing,
12:34we'll get it dismantled fast.
12:47You.
12:50If that thing's jammed in there that well, it might not let go.
12:56Please go.
13:03Son of a .
13:12Back in the high country.
13:13Fallers Jim and Rob are battling blowdown for a seeder worth up to 25 grand.
13:30Sometimes cleaning the debris is more work than falling the tree.
13:38Much more gooder.
13:42Got a nice trail, escape trail now.
13:45I think we're ready now.
13:47So my plan, I'm going to get this heavy leaner.
13:51Got a nice little bed for it now.
13:53Yeah, that's good.
13:53I think I got all the pivot points bucked.
13:55I got this one bucked, this one chunked out in case it flips up.
13:59I was going to clear some of that out of there, and then throw this heavy leaner up there.
14:05And while I'm doing the low side of the undercut, I'm going to want to get you to watch.
14:10If it gets on top of all this windfalls, and comes sliding like the Egyptians did with the pyramids,
14:16with the logs, maybe it come rolling back at us.
14:18That's why I got a good escape trail in behind here.
14:21Looks like a good plan.
14:25If this massive cedar drops on the cut logs up the hill, it can now roll straight back on Rob.
14:37So it's critical he make a heavy face cut to guide it onto a safer bed of debris.
14:46Okay, let's do it.
14:48Rob's going to be cutting, and I'm going to be his eyes and ears.
14:57This tree, it's leading up the hill.
14:59It could break off and go into the direction that it's not intended.
15:03I'm just going to watch out, make sure nothing's going to hit him, make sure he's safe,
15:07and we're going to do our job together.
15:25Oh!
15:34It's going, it's going.
15:53Yeah, it is.
16:02For sakes.
16:12It landed right on the bed that I wanted it to, and it still broke.
16:17Which makes me think there's rot in it if it broke and I already had a nice bed for it.
16:22Yeah, this thing didn't even hit anything and it broke.
16:24This is what it is.
16:28Two miles below.
16:29The bigger the load, the bigger the money.
16:41The clock is ticking as Jared needs every last stick of timber barged out for a shot at his bid.
16:47This forever claim, it's going to give me a little bit more home time so I can watch my kids race their dirt bikes or, you know, be there for my wife.
16:58And this takes a lot away from your family.
17:02I probably give more of my time back to my crew than I give back to my family.
17:06So, I need this claim.
17:15He's peeking it up.
17:16I think he's done.
17:21Time to wrap her up.
17:26Making sure the load's secure.
17:28Make sure nothing slides over the front of the truck going down the steep hill.
17:32And, uh, we'll be on our way to the beach.
17:37Nice.
17:39Nice and tight.
17:39Nice and tight.
17:48Good.
17:49Good.
18:02Feel that weight on there.
18:05Totally different animal once you put 100 tons on her.
18:10Ooh.
18:12Heavy wood.
18:16The trailer's locked out there for a guy.
18:27Free now?
18:27Yeah, look at the back down there.
18:31Yeah, you're good.
18:32Trailer brakes are locking up.
18:34Got plenty of air pressure.
18:49I'm going to go ahead on a mirror.
18:52Yeah, try to go ahead again and see what happens.
18:59Yeah, yeah, you're nice and locked up.
19:02I'm going to go ahead and see what happens.
19:04I'm going to go ahead and see what happens.
19:05I'm going to go ahead and see what happens.
19:10What the ?
19:11What the ?
19:12What the ?
19:28High above float cam.
19:30Problems with the trailer brakes right now.
19:32Yeah, that's dangerous.
19:39I disconnected the air supply, hooked it back up.
19:42There's a part of me right now that's thinking,
19:45what happens if this happens on the way down the mountain?
19:49Maybe a blockage of air.
19:51We're definitely going to have to monitor it on the way down the hill.
19:55I'm going to have to really look at the air gauges and make sure I'm keeping my air.
19:59Make sure the brakes are going to hold.
20:02All right.
20:06And here we go.
20:12Full load heading down the mountain.
20:16Definitely did not like the brakes locking out.
20:18Brakes fail.
20:20We're in big trouble.
20:32Here's a steep incline.
20:43Didn't like that sound.
20:43Lockups acting up again.
20:53Brakes stop working.
20:55This truck will take off like a clutch.
21:05Come on, baby.
21:05Come on.
21:13There we go.
21:21The rough stuff's done.
21:24Home stretch.
21:27Now we're going to hit the main line and pick up some speed.
21:32Take some money.
21:32I have people counting on me to succeed.
21:42So every day is crucial.
21:43Get these loads off and get paid.
21:48Me, my crew, and all of us have speed in this game.
21:53Nicely done.
21:53Five miles up the shore.
22:09I can't believe this.
22:12Ross and Adrian struggle to scrap the yarder.
22:15And the 40,000 pound boom is not going without a fight.
22:19I can't believe this boom is still in the air.
22:24I'm lifting up the back end of the machine for 10 feet.
22:27This thing's 120 ton.
22:30It's just not working.
22:34Hey, put your bucket teeth around all the cables.
22:38Yeah.
22:49Oh, oh, oh, he almost had her.
23:03Holy .
23:07Look at this.
23:13Nice work, Roscoe.
23:16Look at that.
23:17Look what held it up.
23:19Just that little chunk in there.
23:20Just wedged her up.
23:22Hopefully we don't have any more hang-ups.
23:25Yeah.
23:27This whole A-frame up here is the gantry.
23:30That's what holds the boom up.
23:32And we'll just pull the gantry off and the rest of it will stay as is.
23:37And then we can drag everything off and then basically it's a cut and show.
23:41Do your worst.
23:49This whole A-frame up here.
24:03Hold it.
24:06Hold tight.
24:07You, this big skid.
24:08Is that just a mess?
24:09Just a mess.
24:09I don't know.
24:09You, I don't know.
24:10You're the way to do it.
24:11I don't know.
24:12I do so much fixing.
24:31All I do is fix, fix, fix.
24:32It can't be fixed all time.
24:34I need a break.
24:37Nice.
24:38Oh, yeah.
24:42These machines are old, amazing history.
24:49A lot of guys won't be happy to see us desecrating it in this way,
24:52but just two guys trying to get this thing as ground level as possible,
24:56as fast as possible.
24:59I'm having fun.
25:00Okay, go for it.
25:03Watch your toes.
25:12Woo-hoo!
25:31Woo-hoo!
25:32Rock and roll, buddy.
25:39Rock and roll.
25:40Smash it, mash it, kill it, eat it,
25:41shoot it, burn it.
25:45Me and Ross are feeling good.
25:46We got this job done almost
25:48until we get this thing on a boat
25:50and the Scrap Boys will have their way with her
25:52and she'll rest in steel heaven.
25:58Back in the high country,
26:00Jim and Rob's last giant cedar shattered on impact
26:10and lost half its value.
26:12Didn't even hit anything and it broke.
26:14So they need at least one more money tree
26:16to stand a chance at recouping the loss.
26:19Fortunately for them,
26:21their redemption tree could be just a few feet away.
26:24Well, look at that.
26:26It looks like a scratching post to me.
26:28That's a mountain lion.
26:30I think, yeah, I think you're right.
26:32I think you can tell by all the smaller claw marks.
26:34Look at it, smaller claw marks.
26:35One, two, three.
26:38It's probably not far off.
26:39It's pretty fresh.
26:42They could be watching us right now.
26:45Oh, yeah, cats are sneaky.
26:51The cat scratched cedar.
26:53This thing looks sound from the bottom,
26:55but then you take a little closer look.
26:57There's carpenter ant holes down here.
27:00So who knows what the,
27:01if it's sound in the core.
27:04Sounds good there.
27:05But then you get to the high side.
27:08Sounds solid there.
27:12Not so much there.
27:15Definitely not solid there.
27:16So this one's going to be trickier
27:18to keep off the bluff.
27:20But there is some meat in it,
27:21so hopefully I can swing it right up here.
27:25Otherwise, it's going right on the bluff.
27:33This cedar is highly unstable at the base
27:36and likely to fall straight downhill
27:38where it could explode.
27:40But if there's still enough holding wood
27:42to control it,
27:43Rob will once again aim his undercut
27:45across the side hill
27:46toward a softer bed of blowdown,
27:48where this time,
27:50it'll hopefully stay in one piece.
27:53As long as I can keep the two corners
27:55of my undercut in the sound wood,
27:57hopefully I can control the direction of fall.
28:01You got it, buddy.
28:03There's so many factors involved.
28:06You got rock debris,
28:09ground debris.
28:12There's just too many variables.
28:15It's nice to have a second set of eyes
28:17in case something goes sideways.
28:19Ready!
28:27Look out!
28:30Back up!
28:36Heads up!
29:03Honey shot!
29:06Woo!
29:08That was a nicer tree
29:09than the leaner cedar.
29:11Yeah, go figure.
29:14Awesome!
29:15I love that.
29:17If I could do this all day,
29:18every day.
29:19Oh, wait, I do.
29:20I do!
29:23With this tree
29:24still completely intact,
29:26Rob and Jim should have
29:27just enough timber on the ground
29:29to pay for Jared's bid
29:30on the forever claim.
29:33The cat scratch cedar was,
29:35I thought it was going to be
29:36a bag of s***
29:37with the carpenter ant holes,
29:39but they must have just
29:40started chewing on it.
29:41This is the nicest cedar
29:42I've had all day.
29:43All week.
29:45I bet you that cat's
29:46right up there watching me.
29:47Just waiting to pounce.
29:49I cut down
29:50her favorite scratching pole.
29:51Back down by the water.
30:07Rocks are ticking.
30:09Ross and Adrian's salvage mission
30:11moves on to the next challenge.
30:13To cash in on scrap steel
30:16and parts,
30:17they must get all 120 tons
30:19of a dead yarder
30:20onto a boat.
30:23We've got to load
30:23a bunch of the scrap into it,
30:25and then this big, ugly hunk
30:26is going to get pushed on.
30:28I'll pull with this thing.
30:30Yeah.
30:31We'll hook that strap up to you,
30:32and we'll push with the lug loader.
30:34Okay.
30:35Then we'll have a better chance
30:36of skeering it.
30:36We've lightened it up a little bit,
30:39got the boom and gantry off,
30:41but this is still 90 to 100 tons,
30:44and our ramp is about that wide,
30:46so it's going to be tight.
30:48And there's going to be a decline
30:49going down to the barge ramp,
30:51and that's a lot of weight.
30:52If we lose control of it,
30:53like, it's going to do
30:54some damage to something.
30:56I think we're just going to have
30:57to gamble with no brakes.
30:59What could go wrong?
31:02Okay.
31:06You can be the high center.
31:18Which way we've got to go?
31:19Yeah.
31:20Okay, let's go.
31:25Okay.
31:32I think, yeah.
31:34Yeah.
31:36Tell them to tighten it up.
31:44Tighten this up a little bit.
31:48Okay.
31:50We've got to start turning it that way.
32:00A little more.
32:01A little more.
32:03Easy, Ross.
32:05Ross.
32:05Yeah.
32:06You've got to watch your counterweight.
32:08Did I hit it?
32:09Just about.
32:09Okay.
32:10Okay.
32:10Yeah.
32:10Yeah.
32:26Okay.
32:30Bye.
32:34Bye.
32:35Bye.
32:36Bye.
32:37Bye.
32:39Oh, yeah, baby!
32:41Nice job, buddy.
32:43West Coast logging is never a dull moment, brother.
32:46We had some ups and downs, some excitement and a bit of danger,
32:49and fear, danger, excitement all hanging out together.
32:52Tons of good parts for Jared,
32:54and there's a lot of weight and scrap metal there.
32:57Like, you know, there's good money in these things
32:59no matter how you cut it.
33:01It's on to the next challenge.
33:03Let's go back logging.
33:09Best view in the world, the Hercules.
33:25After 10 all-out days of production,
33:30Jared and the crew are down to the final hours
33:34to barge and deliver in time before bidding closes.
33:41It all comes down to this moment.
33:47Lots of time and effort has gone in to get this log barge out.
33:51It's a great sight, beautiful day.
33:53We've got lots of wood.
33:55I need to turn this log barge into dollars
33:58in my bank account right now.
34:00Every bundle must be carefully loaded onto the barge,
34:06so it can be hauled more than 100 miles away to market.
34:12But Jared's estimated profit is based on volume
34:15and how much of it hits the deck of the barge undamaged.
34:20Dave Lorne is running the crane right now.
34:23He out here, Dave Lorne?
34:25Yeah, go for Dave.
34:28How's things looking up there?
34:31Hey, you guys made some nice bundles, lots of them.
34:34Nice, nice, nice.
34:36We're going to keep you guys busy this season.
34:39Oh yeah, boy.
34:41You know, it all comes down to this last moment.
34:45This is like the gold miners' gold weigh-in, right?
34:49This is just on a way bigger scale.
34:51There's King of the Klondike, now there's King of the Coast.
34:54It's impossible for loggers to even know their costs.
34:59It is a take a dart and throw it on the board
35:02and hope you land on the bullseye area
35:04because it's so hard.
35:06Wreck your machine and your costs go through the roof,
35:08you lose money on that job.
35:10We can't haul because the river's blown out.
35:12Just how efficient we are.
35:16That's a huge driver on if we make money or not.
35:21Logging is like taking a pitchfork
35:23to a wheelbarrow full of cash,
35:25throwing it over your shoulder
35:27and hoping a dollar bill lands in your pocket.
35:31Yeah, there you go, Dave.
35:34Yeah, go ahead.
35:36I think these two sharp ones are yours.
35:52I got this mangled up one and a mangled up one.
35:56No, the brand new one.
35:57Remember you got brand new wedges?
35:58That's yours.
35:59Mine's chewed on the corners.
36:03Rob's my brother.
36:05He is a true brother.
36:07It's getting warm out.
36:09I know you like the heat, but I hate it.
36:11Oh, I shine in this.
36:13We've worked together for 10 years falling
36:16and 13 years before that logging.
36:19If you want, I can hang out
36:21and hammer some wedges for you if you want.
36:23Okay, that would be helpful.
36:25Okay.
36:26There's something about falling
36:28that really bonds you to each other.
36:31When you look after yourself, number one,
36:34and your partner number two,
36:36that's a very strong bond between two people.
36:39And when you save somebody's life,
36:41it's even stronger.
36:42Can't always be nice unless you're Jimmy Gardner.
36:45And when you feel it, it's gold.
36:47On the coast of the Pacific Northwest.
36:57Okay, we're gonna fill the barge.
37:00Yeah, I think we have more than we need.
37:14Actually, it'll be stuffed right full.
37:17Well, that's good news.
37:19Definitely shaping up to be a great season.
37:22Looking good.
37:23Pretty impressed, Jared.
37:24Once delivered, this barge comes in at $212,000,
37:29which combined with the salvaged yarder
37:31gives Jared more than enough to have made good
37:33on his aggressive forever claim bid.
37:36I feel like all roads have led to this moment.
37:40Everything is lining up perfectly.
37:44I've never been this happy with my crew.
37:48We've worked really hard to make this deal.
37:50I'm this close to having forever claim.
37:52Like, this close.
37:54So I'm a little nervous.
37:55Yeah.
37:56It's real.
37:57It's a real thing right now.
37:58It's happening.
37:59Three shots each. Let's go.
38:00My crew is the most important thing in this company.
38:04Like, they're just salt of the earth,
38:06hard-working, hilarious guys.
38:09To a good season. Here we go.
38:13Come on, Happy. Happy Douglas.
38:15Ah!
38:18My John Daly.
38:20Jared's operation is quite a bit different this year.
38:25He's solo.
38:27Doesn't have a partner.
38:28Kind of restricting him.
38:30The gloves are off.
38:32The guy's a wild mustang running through the bush.
38:36He's taken on everything he can get his hands on.
38:39He's got lots of drive.
38:41Adrian.
38:43Man.
38:44Just like starting to tug.
38:45Takes him forever.
38:48You better watch the .
38:54Yep!
38:59Hello?
39:00Hi, is this Jared?
39:01Yeah.
39:02Jared Douglas?
39:03Yeah.
39:04Hey, can you wait a minute?
39:05One second.
39:06Just getting in my room here.
39:08You there?
39:09Yes, sir.
39:10I'm calling about the bid you placed on the forever claim.
39:11Yeah.
39:12Unfortunately, there was a higher bidder.
39:13You gotta be kidding me.
39:14Yeah.
39:15By who?
39:16Looks like, uh, John Muhammad.
39:17John?
39:18That's what I'm showing.
39:19Okay.
39:20Thanks.
39:21My bid for the forever claim, which I thought was a lock.
39:22I was a little bitter.
39:23Somebody beat me.
39:24John Muhammad.
39:25John Muhammad.
39:26Fierce competitor of mine.
39:27My bid for the forever claim, which I thought was a lock.
39:31I was a little bitter.
39:32Somebody beat me.
39:35Okay. Thanks.
39:41My bid for the forever claim, which I thought was a lock.
39:44I was a little bitter.
39:47Somebody beat me.
39:49John Muhammad.
39:51Fierce competitor of mine.
39:58I was banking on that for my crew's jobs.
40:03I fumbled the ball.
40:07I have nothing lined up for my company.
40:10I have to scramble.
40:12In logging, always the unforeseen stuff is what gets you.
40:18You have to be able to pivot,
40:20and these decisions have to happen immediately.
40:23I can't tell these people they're not getting a paycheck.
40:27The biggest chip on my shoulder that I have
40:31is I've always come up with the work.
40:35And my crew knows that, and they bank on that,
40:38because they know that I'm going to be out there hustling,
40:42and I do not want to let them down.
40:45I need to make this happen.
40:52Yeah, that's not going to work, Jared.
40:55I don't want to see people lose their jobs.
40:58Whoa.
41:00Back up.
41:01This thing wants to go.
41:06Nice shooting.
41:07If this doesn't happen, I'm .
41:14We're going to work our fingers to the bone.
41:16It's going.
41:17It's going.
41:19We're going to bleed for this.
41:24Now, this is make or break.
41:26You have to adapt or fail.
41:28It's going to be done.
41:29It's going to be done or fail.
