00:00Right before the government shut down, we had a meeting with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office.
00:05The president whispers to one of his personal assistants, they're all very good people,
00:10and she comes back with two Trump 2028 hats to give to Jeffries and Schumer.
00:17And then he has the photographer come in and he points at Jeffries as he's holding the Trump 2028 hat.
00:25And he's like, he says to the photographer, make sure Hakeem gets that.
00:29I'm sure he's going to want to use it in his campaign advertisements.
00:32So, Mr. Vice President, the last question I got for you on that note,
00:36so is that there's a big discussion right now about health care in this country.
00:42We, you know, the ACA subsidies expire at the end of the year.
00:45There's a lot of questions about what's going to happen about this.
00:47The Democrats shut the government down supposedly over this.
00:51But where does this go?
00:53What do we do to address health care prices and premium prices and so on and so forth?
00:58What does that look like?
00:59Is it a reconciliation plan?
01:00Walk us through what happens.
01:01So what's so crazy about this, Matt, is right before the government shut down,
01:05we had a meeting with Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer in the Oval Office.
01:09Is this where they get President Trump gave him a MAGA hat?
01:11Yeah.
01:12This is, no, no, not just that.
01:14But the president whispers to one of his personal assistants,

01:21And I think to myself immediately, oh, what the hell have I gotten myself into?
01:24And she comes back with two Trump 2028 hats to give to Jeffries and Schumer.
01:31And then he has the photographer come in, and he points at Jeffries as he's holding the Trump 2028 hat.
01:40And he's like, he says to the photographer, make sure Hakeem gets that.
01:44I'm sure he's going to want to use it in his campaign advertisements.
01:46And it was like a hysterical moment.
01:49But when we got to the serious stuff, and they said, we really want to address the health care problem
01:54confronting the American people, the president said, well, absolutely.
01:58We agree.
01:59We want to address the health care problem confronting the American people.
02:02In fact, you people screwed it up with Obamacare, the Unaffordable Care Act.
02:06And now you're coming to us saying, let's fix it.
02:09Great.
02:09Let's fix it.
02:10And then they said, I think they were kind of caught off guard.
02:12And they're like, well, but we want the fix before we're willing to open up the government.
02:18And the president was like, that's like three days from now.
02:21You want us to fix American health care in the next three days?
02:23And unless you do it, you're going to shut down the government?
02:26How about we open up the government and then work together to fix American health care?
02:30And of course, we know the history.
02:32They rejected it.
02:33They shut down the government.
02:34But I don't want to get ahead of the president, Matt, because we had a very, very good meeting
02:37in the Oval Office yesterday.
02:38I think that we have a great health care plan coming together.
02:41I think that it's going to get Republican and Democrat support.
02:45And I think the president, look, right now, American people, the American people get crap
02:50health care and they pay way too much for it.
02:53You have people who are paying thousands of dollars a month in premiums for a family of
02:57four, a family of five.
02:59And the access to health care is really low.
03:01This system is broken.
03:03The Democrats broke it.
03:04But who cares?
03:05We're going to work together if they're willing to fix it.
03:07And the interesting thing, Matt, is, you know, people say, and this is one of the things
03:11I love about the president, people come to the president and say, no, no, no, don't talk
03:15about health care.
03:16That's a graveyard for Republicans.
03:18Republicans always lose on health care.
03:21And the president's like, I don't care about the politics of it.
03:24This system is screwed up for the American people.
03:27We need to fix it.
03:28So let's go and do it.
03:29Politics be damned.
03:31I love that.
03:31That's leadership.
03:32And that's exactly what we should want coming from the White House.
