00:14Only four hours after President Trump met with Democratic congressional leaders at the White House

00:19to discuss the looming government shutdown,

00:21the commander-in-chief posted an AI-generated video on Truth Social,

00:26which mocked Senator Chuck Schumer and Rep. Hakeem Jeffries.

00:29The faux footage shows Jeffries, depicted with a mustache and sombrero,

00:34standing stone-faced next to Schumer,

00:36who, in a fake voice, argues in favor of giving illegal aliens free health care

00:41as part of an effort to court new voters for the Democratic Party,

00:46all while a traditional Mexican folk song plays in the background.

00:50And if we give all these illegal aliens free health care,

00:54we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us.

00:58They can't even speak English.

00:59So they won't realize we're just a bunch of woke pieces of s**t, you know,

01:05at least for a while until they learn English and they realize they hate us too.

01:09Schumer and Jeffries were livid over the AI post.

01:13If you think your shutdown is a joke, it just proves what we all know.

01:16You can't negotiate.

01:17You can only throw tantrums.

01:31We are fighting to protect the health care of the American people

01:35in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault.

01:39Trump said very large differences remain over cuts to various health care programs,

01:45with Republicans accusing Democrats of wanting to provide migrants access to government-subsidized health care programs.

01:52Democrats have denied the claim, arguing they will not support any stopgap measure

01:56that does not extend Obamacare tax credits, which are set to expire at the end of the year,

02:02and reverse Medicaid cuts Republicans enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

02:07I think for the first time, the president heard our objections

02:10and heard why we needed a bipartisan bill.

02:14Their bill has not one iota of Democratic input.

02:19That is never how we've done this before.

02:21But Vice President J.D. Vance was quick to place the blame on Democrats for the looming shutdown.

02:26We have disagreements about tax policy, but you don't shut the government down.

02:30We have disagreements about health care policy, but you don't shut the government down.

02:33You don't use your policy disagreements as leverage to not pay our troops,

02:38to not have essential services of government actually function.

02:41You don't say the fact that you disagree about a particular tax provision is an excuse

02:45for shutting down the people's government and all the essential services that come along with it.

02:49But let's do it in the context of an open government that's providing essential services to the American people.

02:54That's all that we're proposing to do, and the fact that they refuse to do that shows how unreasonable their position is.

03:00I think we're headed to a shutdown because the Democrats won't do the right thing.

03:04Lawmakers face an 11.59 p.m. Tuesday deadline to pass legislation to keep the government funded.

03:10If no bill is passed, all non-essential government operations will cease for the first time

03:16since the 35-day shutdown in late December 2018 and early January 2019.
