00:01A chance conversation with a nurse who was her passenger prompted Selangor e-hailing driver Shamsida Ismail to seek medical
00:09attention, leading to her breast cancer diagnosis.
00:33Shamsida, fondly known as Kaida, shared her experience during Grab's hashtag SIS Boleh Pinktober event on Thursday.
00:41Taking the advice seriously, Shamsida visited a health clinic the following day.
00:46So besoknya saya terus pergi klinik kesehatan.
00:50Pergi klinik kesehatan, doktor cek-cek, doktor periksa memang ada benjolan.
00:58Dan doktor terus buat surat untuk saya terus pergi ke hospital.
01:03Diagnosed in November 2023, Shamsida underwent chemotherapy and surgery in 2024.
01:10She is now in remission.
01:13Despite the challenges, the 49-year-old mother continued driving whenever she felt well enough while attending medical appointments and
01:21undergoing treatment.
01:23Kimo ni memang kita kena jalan, kena buat sebab kita dah pergi jumpa doktor, dah pergi hospital tu memang kena
01:29buat.
01:30Tapi bila time saya sehat, saya memandu sebab dengan memandu saya jumpa orang ramai, banyak benda positif diorang akan beri
01:38saya nasihat dan saya happy.
01:40Memandu ni buat saya happy.
01:42A grab driver for eight years, Shamsida took up e-hailing for its flexibility after previously running several businesses.
01:50She stressed the importance of breast cancer awareness and regular health screenings, saying some women might not realise they had
01:58the disease until diagnosed.
02:00Dia sebenarnya event macam ni memang sangat bagus sebab cancel ni kita kadang-kadang kita tak tahu, kita tiba-tiba
02:10kita ada cancel, kita tak sedar.
02:12Jadi bila event macam ni memang bagus lah untuk periksa, untuk buat mammogram, untuk buat ultrasound, lebih bagus lah.
02:20She encouraged women, particularly mothers juggling family responsibilities, to prioritise their health and maintain a positive outlook.
02:30Kita kena kerja dengan apa yang kita suka.
02:34Kalau pekerjaan tu kita suka, kita boleh bertahan lama.
02:39Jadi kita kena happykan diri.
02:42Apapun sakit, apapun sakit, ubat dia adalah kena happy.
02:47For Shamsida, driving remains a source of happiness, allowing her to meet people and spend time outside the home.
02:56Grab's hashtag Sis Boleh Pinktober initiative returns to the Klang Valley and Penang to promote breast cancer awareness
