00:00Yesterday, the matchup between Seahawks and the Rams was slated to be an MVP showdown.
00:10I should have known it was going to be an ugly affair.
00:1421-19, the Rams win and do not cover any number.
00:19Two and a half, up to three and a half.
00:21The Seahawks not only walk away with a cover,
00:24they had an opportunity to win this game with a walk-off field goal.
00:28Albeit it was a long one, but it's 61 these days is, I don't know, 53, like three years ago,
00:37despite four interceptions from Sam Darnold.
00:40So I'll ask you this, Lisey.
00:41Maybe you weren't not expecting me to frame it this way.
00:45Who was yesterday's result more game, I should say, not result, but game more concerning for?
00:51The Rams or the Seahawks?
00:53I think the Seahawks because, again, we talked about it when we broke this game down.
00:58This is the exact same team that gave Sam Darnold and the Vikings fits in their playoff win in Arizona last year.
01:07They blitzed him.
01:08They got after him.
01:09They forced turnovers.
01:10He looked mortal, and he turned into a pumpkin before midnight two times in a row against the Rams defense.
01:17So big picture, when you look at this team moving forward, yeah, they're a good football team,
01:22and they can win on the road.
01:23But Sam Darnold's question marks regarding big game heroics still have yet to be seen.
01:30And, again, if you're backing this team to win an NFC championship, you have to be concerned about a quarterback
01:36that hasn't stepped up in a big spot in back-to-back years.
01:40So you tell me, is he a compiler or is he a quarterback that you can count on to win an NFC championship?
01:47Because if we're talking about both of those teams yesterday, I would at least back the guy that has won a Super Bowl
01:53with a defense that stepped up at home last night.
01:57Yeah, I think, Joe, all in all, it was wildly concerning for Darnold and the Seahawks
02:02because people entering this game were very loudly saying they can win the Super Bowl.
02:09And the reality is we need to reframe that.
02:13Can Sam Darnold win a playoff game?
02:15Because you say, Joe, like, hey, we still have questions about him in big games.
02:19We actually right now only have answers and that he absolutely has no chance to play anything
02:24other than his worst football in big games.
02:26It happened last year without fail, and now it has happened this season again.
02:32And that Seahawks resume, college football playoff style, it's awful.
02:38I mean, it's truly terrible.
02:40Their one win against the winning team is Pittsburgh.
02:43Come on now.
02:44Let's call it what it is.
02:46Jackson Smith and Jigba is the MVP candidate of that team.
02:50Jackson Smith and Jigba is a star's star.
02:54Sam Darnold is anything but.
02:57And the ease at which people were willing to throw this guy as one of the 10 best quarterbacks
03:02in football is laughable.
03:04It was at the time.
03:05It's even worse now.
03:06But Seattle was there because that defense is absolutely for real.
03:11It's a little reminiscent, Joe, of Denver.
03:13But Seattle doesn't have those quality wins all in all, which is, again, why I frame it
03:18the way I did.
03:19It's worse for the Seahawks.
03:20But that was not a good game for the Rams.
03:23Look, their defense absolutely has the ability to play some great games.
03:29But Matthew Stafford, MVP favorite, because he's thrown a bunch of two-yard touchdown passes?
03:33Not for me, man.
03:35Not for me.
03:36He can win a playoff game or two.
03:38He's a Super Bowl champion.
03:40I got you.
03:41But Matthew Stafford, the best quarterback in football this year, I must be watching a
03:45different league.
03:46No.
03:47If we're talking about those odds, I would much rather vote or pick Drake May at plus
03:53175 because of how he's elevated that team and he is produced.
03:57If they win the AFC East, they potentially get the second or number one seed in the playoffs.
04:03I would much rather buy in to Drake May at this point.
04:06And I've been a hater or negative on Drake May up until this point.
04:11And I have no problem readjusting and refocusing my approach midway through the season.
04:16But I think when you look at the L.A. Rams and we're judging them in Stafford big picture,
04:22Kevin, you and I have talked about this at length.
04:25Every team in the NFL has a weakness.
04:28But if we're back in the team, we're potentially going to say this team is built for the long
04:33haul.
04:34Which team has less weaknesses than any other in the conference?
04:38And it's the Philadelphia Eagles.
04:39I keep going back to this.
04:41It's Philadelphia in the NFC and everybody else.
04:45The Rams, Seattle, Detroit, Green Bay, Tampa.
04:49They are all a cut under where the Philadelphia Eagles are.
04:54And I have no problem saying that.
04:56In a big spot, my money is going on Jalen Hurts over Matt Stafford, over Jared Goff that
05:02we saw get abused in the lost in the Eagles.
05:05Every one of these guys and teams has a major setback or weakness.
05:10Why we can't say they are the most dominant or consistent team.
05:15The only team you could say when the chips are in the middle of the table that would get
05:20your money or my money would be the Eagles.
05:23They have more winners on that team offensively and defensively to step up in a big spot than
05:29any team on that list.
