00:00Hello and welcome to this New South Wales Janesweather update for Monday.
00:04All of the shower and storm activity has cleared out to the north.
00:07Instead, we've got yet another cold outbreak.
00:09Now, it's not overly chilly, but we're feeling it in terms of a dry air mass.
00:13It doesn't produce a lot of wet weather.
00:15It's mainly for Tasmania and the coastal parts of Victoria.
00:18So here, we've got a bit of cloud and some cooler air, but that is it.
00:21Meanwhile, sunshine all through the northeast in through here.
00:25So for today, here's just the wet weather activity we have on the southwestern slopes.
00:28That is about it. It has cleared out of the northeast.
00:32Have a look at Tuesday. Here we are, back to fairly clear skies.
00:35We've got high pressure just out to the east, so conditions are looking quite nice.
00:38Heading into Wednesday, same conditions.
00:41Into Thursday, here is when our next trough develops in through here.
00:44What this is going to be is our next phase of showers and thunderstorms,
00:48tending to steady light rain at times.
00:50But if you're underneath a storm, then yes, you will get a heavy fall.
00:53Why do we see it? We get this trough that runs in through here.
00:55We've got onshore winds, so perfect recipe for some wet weather.
00:59Let's now have a look at Friday.
01:01So the potential mainly in the northeastern parts of the stage,
01:03but also the coast and rangers in through the central parts here.
01:07Into Saturday, it spreads inland a little bit further.
01:09Into Sunday, it continues.
01:11It gets this shot of moisture that comes in from the west.
01:13But also, if you're in the far west, you're not seeing all of this activity that's happening in the east here.
01:19Instead, there is a bit of a heat wave that is coming to visit instead.
01:22So out ahead of that shot of moisture, we're going to get some hotter temperatures come through.
01:26So watch that.
01:27If you're in the west, if you're in the east, it kicks off on Thursday
01:29and continues to the end of the weekend into next Monday.
01:33So what might that add up to?
01:34If you're in the eastern parts, that's where the falls are.
01:36Over in the west, no, they are not.
01:38In through this, yes, it does tend to steady light rain at times,
01:42but it's the hit and miss, embedded showers and storms in there.
01:45If you're under a storm, then, yes, you will get a heavy fall.
01:48So for Sydney, what can we expect?
01:49About 23 today.
01:50I want to point out the dew point here.
01:53It's down on 3.
01:54That is some very dry air that has come through.
01:56So we've got that little bit of cloud from the activity to the south,
02:00but we're feeling it in the wind today, and it is a southwesterly.
02:03Have a look for the rest of the week in the afternoons.
02:05That is an easterly wind.
02:07It's southeasterly in through there.
02:08So our dew point climbs back up again as we move through the mid-to-later part of the week.
02:12So the moisture will come back to the air.
02:14Lots of sunshine.
02:16Temperatures are warming and rising overnight as well.
02:18And then we get our wet weather coming in.
02:20So likely to be fairly dry on Thursday.
02:22Friday is when it kicks off.
02:24Friday, Saturday and Sunday is when we're likely to see that.
