00:00Welcome to Ask The Cast, the big question hub where we've collected up all of your questions,
00:06put them in a big pile and then put them on this table.
00:08We're going to pick up the questions, read them and answer them.
00:12Here we are.
00:12So without further ado, do Danny.
00:16Alright, I'll say, shall we do a group one first?
00:19Yeah, do Anjly's one.
00:20Yeah, do group one.
00:21Do a gang.
00:22The gang, okay.
00:24If you could have one trip in time and space, where would you go and why?
00:28Yeah, and that's from Tom in Derbyshire.
00:30Hi Tom.
00:31Hello Tom.
00:31Hi Tom.
00:33You go first.
00:36I would like to go into the future, just because I want to see what it's like.
00:43I'd love to see a flying car.
00:44Your great-granddaughter.
00:45Yeah, my great-grand...
00:46Pretty fine.
00:47Yep, yep.
00:49She'd be very pretty actually.
00:50A little bit of busted.
00:51Yeah, I'd say the future.
00:54What about you?
00:56I'd quite like to see some cavemen.
00:58Watch them run around, hunting some dinosaurs and things.
01:01See some dinosaurs.
01:03Oh, you stole mine.
01:04See, I want to meet some dinosaurs.
01:05Some Tyrannosaurus rectors.
01:08Some Velociraptors.
01:09Jam out with some Velociraptors.
01:10They're the best dinosaurs.
01:11That'd be awesome.
01:11Very fast.
01:12I probably would become a dinosaur if I went back for time as well.
01:15You think?
01:15Yeah, definitely.
01:16Nice.
01:17Alright, this is Danny.
01:19How long does each episode take to film and what has been your favourite episode from Abby here in West Sussex?
01:25Hello, Abby.
01:26Hi, Abby.
01:26Hi, Abby.
01:27An episode normally takes like, what, is it two weeks or something to film?
01:31Yeah.
01:32It's quite quick.
01:33You've got to cram a lot in to like a shorter space of time.
01:37Somehow you manage it.
01:38And my favourite episode is series one, the one I did with Tommy in the laser quest place.
01:46Because we got to run around with laser quest lasers and like, shoot people.
01:51That was fun.
01:52Playtime.
01:53Playtime.
01:54That was definitely playtime.
01:55Big, big playtime.
01:56What is the best thing about the Sarah Jane adventures?
01:59The people!
02:00Just the family.
02:01You guys, these two.
02:03I know.
02:05Yeah, all the people standing around in this room.
02:07I can't see them.
02:08There are loads of people here.
02:09It's filled.
02:10It's filled.
02:10Isn't that really weird?
02:11Yeah.
02:11I think that every time you watch a scene.
02:13Hey, bro.
02:14That's the best part.
02:15It's the whole atmosphere that we have when we're working together.
02:18Everybody loves each other and we see each other in the mornings and we're filled with hugs and cuddles and happy times.
02:24And I was going to say, but you answered the question.
02:26That's thanks to Lindsay in West Yorkshire.
02:28Hello, Lindsay.
02:29Hi, Lindsay.
02:32I'll pick one for...
02:34Let's go to the table.
02:35Who or what inspires you to be an actress?
02:39And that's from Elizabeth.
02:40And there's no...
02:41We don't know where she's from.
02:42There's no higher Elizabeth.
02:42Hey, Elizabeth from planet Earth.
02:43But I'm going to say Bath.
02:45From Bath.
02:46You can't decide that's where she's from.
02:48Absolutely.
02:48I just always wanted to be an actress, Elizabeth, since I was really small.
02:54I used to make home videos and plays with my two puppets called Sooty and Sweep that I used to have when I was four.
03:01And I used to, like, get cardboard boxes and make them into theatres using, like, a cutout and do little shows for my mum when she was sad.
03:08This is the end of part one of Ask the Cast with me, Tommy and Ange.
03:13Come back for part two very soon, where we will be answering some more of your questions.
03:20Part two!
03:22This is for the gang.
03:24What music do you like to listen to from...
03:26The Nestle in Surrey.
03:27What music do you like to listen to?
03:29I like to listen to a bit of drum and bass and dubstep.
03:33I'm a bit of a dubstep head.
03:34I like my metal music.
03:36Oh, no.
03:37Yeah.
03:38Too metally for me.
03:39No, I do like that.
03:40Like anything apart from, like, when they scream.
03:42Heavy metal?
03:43Heavy metal.
03:44Like, heavy.
03:44Like, heavy.
03:45Like, metal is heavy.
03:46He played some to me once.
03:48You didn't like it.
03:49It was mental.
03:52Have you...
03:53This is for Danny.
03:55Have you ever had any spooky experiences or weird encounters on the set of The Sarah Jane Adventures?
04:00From Tom in Oxford.
04:02You all right, Tom?
04:02Sweet name.
04:03Hey, Tom.
04:03There are a lot of Toms in this.
04:05Is there?
04:06When we filmed, like, the Haunted House episode, this, like, big mansion place,
04:11I didn't really see anything, but apparently it was kind of haunted, and I used to get really
04:17scared there.
04:18But I didn't see anything, but I was extraordinarily spooked, so I'd probably say that house, because
04:24it was massive, wasn't it?
04:25And we sat there at night as well.
04:27And there was that Ganesh jump.
04:28Someone went missing, wasn't it?
04:29Yeah.
04:29There was, like, a thing outside the front door that you weren't allowed to move.
04:34It was, like, a statue of Ganesh, which is, like, an Indian god.
04:38And someone moved it, and our crew accidentally packed it away as a prop, and then loads of
04:42bad things happened to the house, didn't it?
04:44Like, I heard that they said it can't move.
04:47Yeah, you're not allowed to move it.
04:47There was a flood, and then all the electricity went down for a few days.
04:50It's really spooky.
04:53Woo!
04:54We don't want it.
04:54Okay.
04:55Tom Bowler.
04:58Before you jump in with the answer, this is from Hannah.
05:00Thanks, Hannah.
05:01Thanks, Hannah.
05:02What do you like to do before you start filming for Sarah Jane?
05:06What do I like to do?
05:08In the mornings, I like to get as much possible sleep as possible.
05:12So I like to sleep right the way in until I have to get up, and then I'll get up, stuff
05:17as much food as I can, good to go.
05:19I'll cook breakfast.
05:21That's all I need.
05:22That's all I need.
05:23Keeps me going for the day.
05:24And we go over our lines.
05:25We go over our lines before scenes, stuff like that.
05:28We all have these line runs.
05:29We'll do them in funny accents and things like that.
05:31We'll do them while dancing, doing kung fu.
05:33The kung fu ones are the best, aren't they?
05:35Always.
05:36Always.
05:37My favourite one, definitely.
05:38It's good.
05:39It's good.
05:39Good routine.
05:40Can't be really cool.
05:42What was the funniest moment on set?
05:45And that's from Abby, with three eyes.
05:48Hi, Abby.
05:50Hello, Abby.
05:51Hi.
05:52What's the funniest thing that happened on set?
05:54I haven't.
05:56It's hard to pick out.
05:57Yeah, we get asked that a lot.
05:59Yeah.
05:59It's a tricky one.
06:00When we get gunked, that's pretty funny.
06:02They're always absolutely hilarious.
06:03When we hug each other and it's like...
06:04Yeah.
06:05It's like when they're called cut on the gunking scenes.
06:08It's like we'll look over and we'll see Liz and she'll be standing there just going like,
06:11Oh, no.
06:12But what's really...
06:13Do you think it's quite a coincidence how everybody that works in the studios, upstairs, in all
06:19the offices, even the ones that are slightly out of Cardiff, just happened to be on set
06:22that day.
06:23Yeah.
06:23It's completely packed.
06:24With bags of popcorn.
06:25Everybody is just there to enjoy the show.
06:28To watch us get gunked.
06:29Yeah, to watch us be a bit slimy.
06:30They love it.
06:31They absolutely love it.
06:33Are the aliens like Androvax and the robots actually believable when filming?
06:37And how does it make you feel?
06:38This is from Ryan.
06:39Hello, Ryan.
06:40It's believable.
06:41I remember the first time that I saw Androvax.
06:46Some robots.
06:48Yeah.
06:49I hadn't seen him being all like done up in the morning.
06:54Because I know they come in like hours before.
06:55Yeah.
06:56So seeing him, that was the first time I'd seen him and the like actor that was playing
07:01him and I didn't say any sense.
07:02Yeah.
07:02So that was odd.
07:03I'd say if you, when you go into the makeup truck in the mornings and you see like a guy
07:07there with like half an alien face on, you're sitting there like, yeah, you're right,
07:11mate.
07:11And then you go and sit, then you go and sit.
07:13I think it's not as weird as if you were to see him not get made up.
07:17I'm so bad at explaining.
07:18Yeah, no, I understand what you mean.
07:18Like, you know there's a man underneath it if you've seen it happen.
07:21Yeah.
07:21You've seen the makeup being put on.
07:22But then if you just wait, walk in to sit on in the morning and he's just there.
07:25He's just there.
07:26Saying his lines to you.
07:27You are me.
07:28I don't know.
07:28Cool.
07:29Yeah.
07:30Well done.
07:31You finished part two.
07:34Come back again soon for part three.
07:37We'll be back.
07:41We'll be back.
