00:23know there could be worse but yeah it's it's something probably a lot of people were dreading
00:28i think because at the start of this year it was wasn't it smackdown went to three hours for
00:35what felt like forever and a show that was once probably the strongest uh wwe show during its its
00:43boom period as well suddenly felt really saggy and and just boring and flabby and just not a fun time
00:51anymore and then it finally went back in july to two hours felt a bit better straight away and has been
00:58okay probably ever since but but but but according to wrestle votes on twitter x x twitter uh they've
01:06said according to sources wb and usa network have decided to move smackdown back to three hours
01:12beginning with the january 2nd show from buffalo new york
01:17boo boo boo all right i know some people just love as much wrestling as possible and more power to
01:25you i hope this is everything you've hoped for and dreamed for but for for me
01:30aye aye aye it's just it doesn't need to be three hours raw is even three hours anymore it's just not a good
01:37length of show for a weekly show you've seen it with aew recently when they stretched theirs out to
01:43three hours everything just feels a bit uh it's it's just excess it's hard to keep engaged it's hard
01:49to drive a show a weekly kind of episodic series week to week it's hard to drive through with the full
01:55three hour show two hours it feels like you can get everything on there in and out a few good matches
01:59and you're left there going that was good i could maybe do with some more you're left wanting more but with
02:03a three hour show i'm always like uh too much too much wrestling but that's just my opinion
02:08yeah no i fully agree uh especially like it'd be one thing if i mean even when like you say when
02:15smackdown was super hot like a couple years ago in the boom period kind of thing and it was really
02:18really good as a show and then they made it three hours and it's even then it still felt long and
02:23saggy because they didn't really add much to it they just made everything longer like all the promo
02:27segments got longer all the matches got longer um so it didn't just it just didn't feel like the same
02:33sort of fun show anymore uh and that was in the boom period and now they're struggling to make
02:40great tv um and you're gonna do it again it doesn't feel like this is gonna go well um
02:47it's just greed isn't it it's just let's get more ads out there let's just just yeah stretch it out and
02:54fun more tv uh we were talking about this on vessel culture of like one of the big reasons why the
02:59black and gold nxt era was so great is because that show was so incredibly easily digestible it
03:04was an hour long and then you only had four pay-per-views a year and so like even when it
03:09wasn't great it was still just an hour so it just like flew by uh and it was just super digestible
03:13and super watchable three hours of smackdown it was the same it was the same with like early early
03:19era uh rampage as well john i mean it was just like yeah it's the shot of wrestling yeah just just
03:25you get in and out and it's that i like to i like to feel after i've watched my wrestling i like to
03:30feel like oh i can't wait for what's next you've hooked me i'm in with the big long three hour weekly
03:35show it's more like oh i made it yeah i got to the end okay let's just extend that move on something
03:41else it's yeah too much for a week as well uh so yeah i'm not looking forward to it but let us know

03:56of smackdown matt cardona returned to smackdown last night well matt cardona didn't actually
04:00zach rider returned to smackdown last night uh he was in the john cena tournament thing and he was
04:08taking on la night he was a surprise opponent for la night he lost unfortunately uh but he was back
04:14on tv which is weird because now we've had zach rider back on tv and matt cardona back on nxt so
04:20in kayfabe i guess they are two different people we're just gonna have to wait and see
04:25he did cut a promo afterwards as zach rider um but also slightly as matt cardona basically saying
04:30that he's been working like five years to get back to this talking about how he became the indie god
04:35and the deathmatch hero or whatever he is because he's called himself i can't remember i'm doing well
04:39today um deathmatch hero that's it just a deathmatch hero um the oh god i've completely lost my track
04:47now uh but then he's been kind of like desperate to get back to wwe and then la night kind of came
04:52in at the end and like shook his hand and went yeah um but i just really like this i've been waiting
04:57for matt cardona i've i'm amazed this hasn't happened sooner already uh he's obviously been
05:03really angling to get back to wwe at some point for quite a while now and you think with sort of the
05:09chelsea green link in there and sort of the complete reinvention of him and his character
05:15and his luck and everything about him and that he's done on the indies and through gcw and things
05:20like that and just endless amounts of hard work you would assume that the wwe would have come and
05:25knocking a lot sooner than this so who knows if it's going to be a one shot or if it's going to be
05:29a longer thing but personally i hope it's a longer thing yeah and i think there's a few things i'd want
05:35unpacking this i think we could be in a world where we have multiple faces of cardona like mick
05:40foley-esque is that rider by cardona and also i i feel like yeah i feel like bringing him back as
05:48that rider on main roster programming because i think i saw after this i don't know if it was just
05:52a made-up tweet but i did it's very early in the morning when i checked these things out
05:55it looked like they were already selling zap rider merch so that could just be wb going we've got
06:01right to the zap rider name yeah want you to come back as this so we can sell the merch whereas if
06:06they came back as matt cardona they'd probably have to negotiate with matt cardona himself
06:09yeah to like sell stuff which i'm sure he'd be up for doing but it's it's it seems a bit like that
06:16but like there would be going no no no if you're coming back you come back as the name that we
06:19own because we own you that's something fun you could do with like coming back as zap rider but
06:24then like he keeps losing or whatever and he's like finally i'm sick of this zap rider's dead i'm
06:29gonna kick everybody's ass yeah did they zoom in on a matt cardona sign or something on smackdown
06:35i don't know if i've just imagined that like i don't know if like he came on screen is that right
06:39and i think they panned to the audience it was like my carona and i was like huh it's still there
06:44it's a bit odd but i want him back yeah it's great it's great to see him back to be fair i'm glad and
06:50he that is a guy that has clearly been doing everything he's been doing just to prove to wb that
06:55yes like i can be a commodity as well he does he looked in great shape and um they really put
07:01over all of his um his indie exploits on commentary as well like they were like saying this is the guy
07:07who's been and done this and great really put him on that pedestal and i know he lost in his first
07:12round of the john cena thing tournament as it will now be known uh but there's there's a loads of
07:18potential there we do want to come back and like you said with chelsea green stuff that'd be super
07:22entertaining i just nearly knocked over my entire setup there by shaking my hand sorry about that
07:26um moving on to another story the wwe landscape sphere thing uh nia jacks has been having a chat
07:34with the happy hour podcast and this conversation steered its way towards bloodline type things because
07:41obviously nia jacks is like a part of that that family tree that epic family tree and it was just like
07:47mentioned like well what's going on like we've not really ever had a woman really like as an
07:54integral part of that storyline and there's a few women that you could throw into there like that
07:58apart this family tree that are in there would be working right now nia being probably one of the
08:02the most decorated her and naomi probably time for that but she mentioned uh it would only be right
08:08for a female to join the bloodline our family runs deep in this business there have been talks but
08:13it's always like what works best for the story and i don't think it's ruled out that it will never
08:18happen but the boys have been creating such a cool niche for themselves i like doing what i do in the
08:22women's division i enjoy creating my own path hopefully one day and then she like trailed off
08:28sorry i'm choking down my bloodline as she trailed off and like mentioned the mfts have got a cool
08:34thing going on i think she was like open to working with them maybe at some point because they're
08:37they're all on smackdown i think that's made sense for years now because nia jacks is just a
08:43destroyer of a human and just having her as just another arm of either the bloodline or the mfts
08:50it just makes a ton of sense i don't get why they've not done it yet i know they're saying it has to make
08:55storyline sense it maybe always will like she doesn't have to be completely involved in what the
09:00guys are doing at all times but just having her as like another arm of that faction like similar to
09:05when the vision had becky lynch kind of as part of the vision a little bit she wasn't just always
09:10like caught in all the whatever paul hayman was doing and everyone else but she was she was there
09:15she was connected to seth and then she'd go off and do her own stuff i guess like it was be somewhat
09:20similar to that i think that'd be the way to go about it in my opinion but it's at least been
09:24discussed i think that's the the key story here that the fact that it has been floating around a few
09:29times but it's just not been something they've doubled down on just yet yeah it's kind of been mad that
09:34they haven't done anything with this i like how long the bloodline's been going now and how many
09:39people are involved like obviously i think like naomi was out of there for quite a long time because
09:43she was always a face when they were always heels kind of thing then she did the heel turn so there
09:48was more potential but then that by then everything had broken up so it like the sort of timeline i
09:53guess would never have matched up for that kind of thing but naya's been there most of the time
09:59um and kind of just there and ready tamino as well like there's plenty of ain't nobody mina ain't
10:04nobody meaner than tamina yeah um so it's strange that they've never pulled the trigger with this
10:09but like at the same time if naya's doing things on her own that are good that's fine too like you
10:15don't sort of necessarily need her to be part of that group if she's still doing good stuff on her
10:19own so i guess we'll have to wait and see what they want to do but let us know in the comments below

10:29survivor series sort of they are reviving the survivor series traditional five on five match
10:34it's just not going to be on survivor series the sort of series that's what we should call it
10:40survivor sort of series this was announced on smackdown last night nick aldous uh revealed the
10:45kind of match it's going to be the mfts speaking of them versus sammy zayn's team and yeah it's going
10:51to be on the smackdown just before survivor series so it's going to be the mfts versus uh sammy zayn
10:56shinsuke nakamura phoenix and the motor city machine guns basically all other people that have been kind
11:01of hating uh on solo score recently um odd that they're not just doing the wyatts versus the mfts
11:09as they've kind of been building something there for ages but never quite pulling the trigger on
11:14anything uh and the mfts logo thing did flash up in the segment on smackdown um so who knows what's
11:20going on there but yeah the survivor series traditional match is going to be back it's been
11:24ages since they've done one of these um so it'll be interesting to see but just odd that it's not
11:28actually on survivor series yeah you never like to like kind of assume stuff with this but like
11:34speculation maybe there's an injury somewhere in the in the wyat clan right now um that's the only
11:41thing i could really think of in terms of like holding holding off is this really something you
11:45could hold off until like wrestlemania i don't know like a royal rumble kind of thing it feels
11:51kind of big but it did feel just tailor-made for like survivor series just something in there just
11:56to kind of break up the war games matches but again it will be another team match so maybe they just
12:00didn't want to go down that route with it i don't know i'm i'm intrigued by it it's nice because it does
12:06seem like something that has been a plan for a while because of the way that the books back down like
12:12they've been taking out this this babyface group and clashing with them for weeks now and it does
12:16feel like okay we were leading to this that that makes sense i remember i'm sure it'd be a great
12:21match everyone involved like especially on the babyface side there's a lot of quite over people
12:26in there obviously sammy's ridiculously over but shinsuke and ray phoenix have been doing some good
12:32work and the most city machine guns have been kind of just there a bit but this could be something
12:36that just just gets a bit more attention on them yeah they're always great when you get them in the ring
12:40yeah they do the business when they're in there so speaking as well though they also announced the
12:46war games match kind of officially so it's gonna be uh oh who's it gonna be drew mcintyre joining the
12:53heel team right um with the vision obviously bomb breaker bonson reed and logan paul who joined them
12:58on board uh against cm punk jay uso uh cody obviously and jimmy uso has joined their team so that's what the
13:06war games men's match at least is looking like it's gonna be are we looking four on four do we
13:11think then in yeah both of them is that is that what we're going for unless there's some big old
13:15swerve that we're a couple of weeks out there have been some wild rumors about participants for this
13:20match over the last few weeks uh but it seems like that's where they're going to fall before
13:25well that again that sounds interesting enough for me but i do not expect w to get through the next like
13:31week or two however long it is before survivor series without just throwing out something pretty
13:36big um i died i think there will be i think there'll be a swerve so be interested interesting to see what
13:42that is but yeah it's shaping up to get a lot of big team wars in the future so yeah we'll have to
13:48have to see how they all shake out and let us know in the comments your thoughts on all of these things
