Seth and Sean take their first look ahead to Texans @ Titans coming up this Sunday.
Transcript
00:00Okay, let's look ahead here, start to shift gears and look ahead to the Tennessee Titans.
00:05D'Amico Ryans, let's take a look at your opponent.
00:07What are your initial thoughts on the Tennessee Titans this week?
00:10Yeah, another division opponent.
00:12We know how important these division games are.
00:15Man, so we know they're going to bring their best, and we got to bring our best.
00:18Like, can we build off of what just happened, right, off the win?
00:21We just had such great momentum, such great energy in our building.
00:25Can we go out, clean up the things we need to clean up?
00:28Because there are still wins.
00:31Can we do that, and can we just remain level-headed?
00:35Like, not allow the pass win to, hey, allow guys to walk around with a big head like we've arrived.
00:41Like, no, can we get back to work, and can we do the things that we need to do to go to Tennessee and get a win?
00:47Important game for us.
00:48We got to go get it.
00:49Can't have a letdown, man.
00:51No letdown, no look ahead.
00:52The one thing that I want to do at some point this week is just go back and watch that Cardinals game.
00:58And that's the one victory the Titans have this year, 22-21 over the Cardinals.
01:02Do you remember that game?
01:03No, I don't.
01:04What was the big thing that turned out?
01:05That was, dude, that was the game.
01:07The Cardinals had no business losing that game.
01:09There was a bunch of crazy stuff that happened.
01:12That was the game where the kid with the long last name, Reggie, he'll text me,
01:17because Reggie's sort of our, he's kind of our Tony Reale to the PTI guys here.
01:22Is it a Nigerian name?
01:23No, it's not.
01:24It's not.
01:24No, but Reggie will remember, because he's got a memory for stuff.
01:28The kid had the long touchdown and dropped the ball right at the goal line.
01:31That would have made it, like, 28-6.
01:34Yeah.
01:34And the game would have been over.
01:35And instead, it stayed at 21-6.
01:39And the Titans came all the way back and won 22-21.
01:42The Titans had a touchdown on a play where Cam Ward threw an interception.
01:48It was like, remember, there was an interception.
01:49Yeah.
01:50Guy fumbles it.
01:51And the interceptor fumbles it.
01:52And the Titans scoop it up and get a touchdown.
01:54Like, just weird stuff happened in that game.
01:56And then two weeks later, Callahan's fired anyways, you know?
01:59The offense for the Titans in that game.
02:01Dude, go back.
02:02Despite all the weirdness.
02:03Go back and watch it.
02:04The second half is highly entertaining.
02:06Yeah.
02:07They were, I mean, like the Cardinals are the better team.
02:12But, obviously, it was a close game.
02:14Yeah.
02:15But, just remember, they beat the Cardinals, all right?
02:17It was the weirdest game of the year.
02:19I just remember looking at Callahan, and they showed his locker room address to the team.
02:25And the two things I noticed, one, like, okay, this feels like a guy.
02:29This guy is the energy level of a guy who's going to get fired if the team stinks.
02:34He's not going to charisma his way through this bad bit of football.
02:37Like, you know, guys like Rex Ryan and guys like that.
02:39Like, all right.
02:40You know, Rex can probably sell me on the fact that this thing will get turned around at some point.
02:45The second thing I noticed was just in the speech itself, Seth, where he's like,
02:48if we just keep doing these things, guys, we're going to be just fine.
02:51And I'm like, nothing that happened in the second half of that game is sustainable or replicable.
02:56None of it.
02:56You got lucky, bro.
02:57And I know you're supposed to say this to your team.
02:59And I know they probably worked hard for you during the week.
03:02But you're sunk.
03:03I felt like you're done, and he was two weeks later.
03:07Like, that was – yeah.
03:08Go back and watch it.
03:09I'm curious your thoughts on – oh, here we go.
03:12A Jillian text.
03:13Demarcato is the last name of the running back who fumbled the ball.
03:16Demarcato.
03:17And that was the one where Gannon came over and hit him on the arm afterwards
03:20and got fined $100,000.
03:21Remember that?
03:21Oh, yeah.
03:22That's right.
03:23Yeah.
03:24Yeah.
03:25Gannon, you bully.
03:26You've disrespected Demarcato a couple times now this season
03:29because when that first happened, you had called him a rookie when he wasn't.
03:33Oh, that's right.
03:33He was a third-year guy.
03:34Yeah, he was a third-year guy.
03:35Look at you.
03:36What a jerk.
03:37Gannon walked over, and he's like, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew, pew.
03:42Yeah.
03:42He smacked him.
03:43Pew, pew on your arm.
03:45Um, uh, as we, uh, look ahead to the Titans, Mike McCoy is their interim head coach.
03:53Uh, he's, I would say most notably, he's been the, he's, he, was he the coach of the
03:58Chargers at one time, the head coach?
04:00I know he was a coordinator for Tebow back in the day.
04:02That's what I remember.
04:03Yeah, because he was, uh, he was one of the, the, the whiz, whiz kid, the time of whiz
04:07kid, probably like in his forties, uh, offensive coordinators that got a chance.
04:11Yeah.
04:11Yep.
04:11But, um, here's Mike McCoy in his media availability, talking about the Texans win over the Jags
04:16this week.
04:17Well, it's a well-coached football team.
04:19I think in all three phases, we've got to go out there and play our best and play complementary
04:23football.
04:23But it says a lot about the football team, the way they played in the fourth quarter yesterday
04:27and how they came back and won that game.
04:29And it's just, that's why you just keep playing.
04:31You, you, you know, you can tell your team these things, but it's a great example of why
04:35you just keep playing and take it one play at a time, live for the next play and anything
04:39can happen.
04:40But it just says so much about them, uh, about how they came back and won the game.
04:44And it's just, they started feeding off each other and that's complementary football at
04:48its finest.
04:48Yeah.
04:48Thanks, Mike.
04:49Appreciate the kind words about the Houston Texans.
04:51It's true.
04:52I wonder if, uh, with the Titans, it just, it seems like they're at that point right now
04:57where they're obviously just trying to keep things from going completely South, including
05:00the fact that Condre Diggs, the safety asked for his release and was granted it.
05:05And I don't know exactly what went on there.
05:08I don't think I hadn't seen any reports that he's having a miserable season or anything.
05:13He's not playing as much as a, as, as he typically might.
05:17Um, but he played in every game and he just said, I want out of here.
05:20And they said, okay, good.
05:21See you later.
05:21Tyler Lockett did that too earlier in the season with them and, and then went and signed
05:26with the Raiders, which is really weird.
05:27Like, that's like going, you know what?
05:30I'm canceling the colonoscopy instead.
05:33Then there was that report that Amy Adams Strunk refused to do business with the Patriots.
05:37She didn't, she didn't want to help out Mike Vrabel at all.
05:40Yeah.
05:41Like, okay.
05:42That sounds like a great situation.
05:43You've got the owner telling the GM, listen, I know you'd like to try, you know, makes,
05:47make some moves for the future and everything, but you're not allowed to do business with
05:51Mike Vrabel because my feelings are hurt with a team.
05:53That would be one of the biggest buyers of the trade deadline, the new Patriots, right?
05:57I mean, they've got to feel like they're in go for it mode right now.
06:00Talk about not being able to set aside your ego.
06:02Yeah.
06:03Okay.
06:03It's a lost season for the Titans.
06:04At the very least, you can maybe try to grab some future value, but no, because you don't
06:10want Mike Vrabel to look any better than he already does.
06:13No, we will deny you.
06:14And I'm sure Vrabel's like, oh no.
06:16Oh, Amy, how will I ever overcome this, this devastating blow with all those incredible
06:21players you have down there?
06:23Kind of respect the pettiness.
06:24I feel like if we ever went to a three person show, we could slide her in here and not miss
06:27a beat as petty as that is, you know?
06:29It feels like, no, you know what though?
06:31Jerry Jones would get over his own personal pettiness and do what's best for the, even
06:35though Jerry Jones doesn't know.
06:37And he would be a better third host of this show too.
06:38He doesn't know how to do what's best for the team, but he at least is always, he's
06:42trying to do what he thinks is best for the team, which is all, which the problem is his
06:47version is what makes the team the most money.
06:49Yep.
06:49But he is setting aside, you know, any kind of personal animosity in that, in that endeavor.
06:54Yep.
