00:00All right, hi people, Jigs here, and here's to do a somewhat unboxing for you guys today of Danny

00:07Phantom, Fair Game, the new graphic novel by Gabriella Epstein, the same author behind what

00:18I believe is a critically acclaimed entry into Danny Phantom, A Glition Time, which came out

00:24about two years ago, 2023, yep, I still have not read through A Glition Time, I kind of know what

00:30happens, but like, not because I read any part of the book, but yeah, and then Fair Game, seems that

00:39she did really well with writing the first book with a greenlit, the new one, and she clearly took

00:44her time with writing and drawing this one, so yeah, but yeah, and I have followed her on

00:53Blue Sky, I don't, I assume she has a Twitter, but I haven't followed her there as far as

00:58I can tell, but yeah, um, or maybe I did, I just can't remember, but yeah, so, when you

01:06look at the cover, looks, uh, pretty good, bit of slashes, I think that's from, uh, and, uh,

01:15dense up in the corner, I think that's from shipping, because, uh, Amazon likes to ship their shit

01:22in, uh, actually no, this was shipped in a box, so I don't know what happened there, but yeah,

01:29but to compare with A Glition Time, you can see very similar art, looks like she, um, maybe

01:37evolved the art style a little bit to be closer to the actual show, because if I'm being completely

01:41honest, they've seen some of the artwork in the page, or on the pages of this, include, and on the

01:47cover and everything, and to me, um, the characters seem a little bit too stylized from how they

01:54looked in the show, so yeah, even early on in the show, when things were more loose and round and

02:00everything, but yeah, but it seems like she evolved the art style a bit, um, maybe she got used, more

02:07used to drawing the characters throughout A Glition Time, who knows, but yeah, and, uh, you can see a

02:14very similar setup in regards to how the, um, the, uh, the covers look, with Danny in the foreground here,

02:22closest to the reader, then instead of, uh, Sam Tucker and Vlad, you have Valerie, then you have Wolf

02:31instead of, uh, Dark Danny, Dan Phantom, however you want to refer to him as, but yeah, um, so yeah,

02:41you have the Danny Phantom logo right there without the Nickelodeon part and without Butch Hartman's

02:45name, which is, in my opinion, good, um, and the specific title of the story and everything

02:53with, uh, the Gabriella Epstein stuff in the same place, same font, just with different stuff around

03:00it, and obviously mostly different colors and everything to separate the two, so that's actually

03:05really good, um, so yeah, so then you have the Spines, which match up pretty well, some just fell

03:14from the tail I'm shooting these on, I don't know why, but yeah, but, um, you can tell that they're

03:19very similar, uh, it was, like, different companies published this between the original and this one,

03:28could be that the, the, uh, company got renamed, but yeah, so then you look on the back, and to compare

03:34the two again, uh, here you got Jazz and, um, Valerie again, uh, with Clockwork's lair in the

03:43background and everything, a bit of Dan Phantom's cape, I believe, or maybe it's Vlad's, no, it's Dan

03:49Phantom's, but yeah, and then, um, the description of the book and everything, anything for Gabriella

03:57Epstein and everything, basically similar layouts and everything, just different colors and different

04:03characters here, you got a Danny Phantom or Danielle, as I like to refer to her as, because, you know,

04:09that's her full name, and it just makes things less confusing, because even in the show, uh, they

04:15made a joke about that, um, in her second episode, uh, in season three, so, yeah, so then you have some

04:23of Danny's classmates with, um, I know her name, I cannot remember for the life of me, though, you

04:34got, uh, Dash, it is funny, I re-watched the whole series earlier this year, so, yeah, for a video I'm

04:40going to be working on, um, in the near future, you got Paulina and Quan, so, yeah, uh, the Nickelodeon

04:52logos are different, but they're in similar places, Abrams Fanfare Amulet Books, uh, this is an imprint

04:59of Abrams, so it's different imprints, okay, but yeah, so, very similar layouts and everything, just

05:08different publishers, um, for the imprints of the labels, so, yeah, and, uh, this is obviously the

05:15hardcover edition, um, mainly because I like hardcover versions of books more than paperbacks,

05:20if I can get them, so, yeah, um, so here we go, and, yeah, so hopefully no spoilers there,

05:32just flipping through the book, or the pages, and, yeah, it's good that we're still getting Danny

05:38Phantom content in 2025, there's also Danny Phantom merch, I'm wanting to get one of the, uh,

05:46Danny Phantom logo shirts that you can get, uh, at some point, but yeah, so, yeah, not really much

05:55else to say, the one thing I will say about Danny here is, I, I, it might be on purpose,

06:01but the way that Gabriella did the hair highlight is just off from the series, and she got it right

06:07in, on the cover of this, where it's supposed to be, like, the main color here, and then a shadow

06:13right here for the, uh, the highlight, which there's two different kinds of shadows in this,

06:20which doesn't, that didn't happen in the show, but it's not bad, but yeah, so it's inversed here,

06:26which is a little weird, but yeah, but who knows, it's not, like, necessarily it's bad, it's just

06:34different from how the show and even the previous, uh, graphic novel did it, but yeah, good to have it,

06:41and yeah, looking forward to reading both of these, so yeah, so really not much else to say,
