00:00And the Brandon Iyuk practice window will not open this week.
00:04You know whose practice window did open this week?
00:06Who's?
00:07Joe Burrow of the Cincinnati Bengals.
00:10Whoa.
00:11With severe, severe surgical turf toe.
00:15And he will not play this week for the Bengals.
00:19And I don't know.
00:20I sort of, again, I feel like at the quarterback position,
00:23I would probably term next week as doubtful as well.
00:28But you could see Joe Burrow, in effect, almost as quickly as you saw Brock Purdy.
00:35And Joe's injury was of the very serious variety.
00:39And he underwent surgery.
00:41While Brock has largely practiced in some level for most of this time.
00:48Certainly since the Jacksonville game.
00:50He practiced on a limited basis now for weeks.
00:54So, that didn't work out.
00:57You know, it's a head-scratcher.
00:58And it makes you wonder, like, should they have gone ahead and, like, shut him down
01:03and put him on IR and given him four weeks of, you know, not even doing anything?
01:07But they tried to rest him.
01:10And then they played him.
01:11And he got hurt again.
01:12And so, here we are.
01:14Here's what Kyle Shanahan said today with regard to what he needs to see from Brock Purdy this week
01:21to actually start him in Arizona.
01:23With all this time off, do you want to see Wednesday, Thursday, Friday practices from Brock?
01:29Pretty much no limitations before you start him?
01:32Yes.
01:33Yeah, that's kind of what we want to see it.
01:35We want to hear from him.
01:36And we want three aggressive practices.
01:38And we want to make sure he feels good after all of them each day, too.
01:41Okay, so that's what we're looking for and waiting for.
01:44I know you and Stiney, and it feels like others, and I get it.
01:48The sound of the word choice that reporters and Kyle were using as of yesterday
01:53made you feel like Brock's going to start this weekend.
01:57You still feel that way listening to that?
01:59Depends on what happens on Wednesday.
02:00Like, he wants three aggressive practices, like Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
02:06You take the one reps, you take them all, and then you'll play.
02:09That's, to me, ultimately what we're looking at.
02:12And he can say what he wants on Monday, and I know that Brock is probably getting better.
02:17He hasn't played in, what, eight weeks or six weeks?
02:19No, it hasn't.
02:20Yeah, it's not.
02:21It's been six weeks?
02:23A month?
02:23A month and a half?
02:24The Jacksonville game was week four, right?
02:26And this was week 10.
02:28Yeah.
02:29So, yeah, six weeks.
02:30Right, and so, for me, like, if he's able to go Wednesday and get all the reps,
02:35and then Thursday all the reps, and then Friday, yeah, he'll play.
02:37But short of that, no, he's not going to play.
02:40You want him to play?
02:41I mean, yeah, I do.
02:43I do.
02:44I'm surprised by how many people I hear not even want Brock Purdy to play.
02:50And I don't get that.
02:52Like, Mac Jones yesterday, he was great.
02:54Like, he was great, and the Rams were up 21-0, and so they played, like, super soft.
02:59And so, yeah, Mac was able to, like, do what he did.
03:03No, he's been great all year.
03:04He's been great.
03:05Yeah.
03:05Again, for what he's being asked to do.
03:08And he's five and three, right?
03:08Yeah, he's good.
03:10Right.
03:10He's done a very, very nice job.
03:13And yesterday, I think, was a case where you look at the numbers and you go, wow.
03:16I mean, Mac Jones was, what, 32 of 38 or whatever it was?
03:20Like, oh, my God, eye-popping.
03:22But when you actually watch the game, you realize that the Rams were, they were up so big that they kind of just, like, laid back and chilled.
03:30I mean, you can say it that way.
03:31I'm not going to disagree with you, but at the same time, I'm not disrespecting what he did.
03:36It's like you do what the defense is dictating you do.
03:40And if you do it well and you make good choices and you deliver the ball on time in the right spot, then I'm going to say, hey, you did a really good job at playing quarterback.
03:50Yep.
03:50You know what I mean?
03:51I don't necessarily go into these games looking for something that looks all, like, brilliant and shiny.
03:58I just want you to make good decisions and take care of the football, and I agree that he did that again yesterday.
04:05I don't even really hold that interception against him.
04:08No.
04:08At all.
04:09For two reasons.
04:11One of which, just because it's a fourth down.
04:14Yeah.
04:14And when you're pressured up the middle on a fourth down, you're going to, as you should, you're going to try to force something.
04:19And he did, and it got picked.
04:22But also because that was actually first down, and the refs done screwed it up.
04:29From the previous play.
04:31Yes.
04:31The previous play was the offsetting penalties, and the penalty was not a penalty on the 49ers, but they called it.
04:37They just made up a penalty.
04:38And Dean Blandino was like, yeah, I thought that he came set.
04:41So did Tom Brady.
04:41They're like, that's just flat out not an illegal shift.
04:44Right.
04:44And so they did fourth and four again, and then, you know, you have to throw the pick and whatever.
04:48And even at that, you're down by 15, so even if they got that conversion, they scored, whatever, you're still down seven or eight.
04:56You're probably not going to win, but I agree with you that that was kind of a, you know, Bull Schmidt.
05:02Go ahead.
05:02Yeah.
05:03Bull Schmidt.
05:04Say it.
05:05With your chest.
05:06I did.
05:06You better be careful.
05:08The refs screwed it up.
05:09That one, and yeah, there were a few other ones that I thought that were, you know, probably PI that they didn't call, but, you know, that's just football.
05:17Yeah, no, no doubt about it.
05:19Okay, 8 at 8, 9, 5, 7, 9, 5, 70.
05:23I told you earlier that I do have one brief officiating rant.
05:29Oh, boy.
05:30But it's not, no, but it's not, it's not like the Niners should have won the game.
05:34Like, it's none of that crap.
05:35Right.
05:35It's, I'm going to use one play from last night or yesterday afternoon as an example of a broader thing that, to me, we ought to consider allowing into the game.
05:49So, I'll do that in just a little bit.
05:52But, yeah, I, you know, in the meantime, I'm with you.
05:57I think that the playoffs are still on the table.
06:00I, what'd you say the Vegas odds were for the Niners to make the playoffs?
06:03They're minus 350.
06:05Okay, I want everyone to hear that.
06:06Say that again.
06:07Minus 350.
06:08And now, now, translate for people what that means if they don't speak gambling.
06:13That means that they are heavy, heavy favorites to actually be the seventh seed and make the playoffs.
06:19I want everyone to, like, let that sink in.
06:23Let that sink in.
06:25Because after losses, it's very easy to get the Dukes up and start firing on all things.
06:34Check this out.
06:35Boxer and Gerson work injury attorney's text line.
06:38707.
06:38Thank you for listening.
06:39Appreciate you texting.
06:40Means a lot.
06:41I hope you pulled over to do it.
06:43I don't know why you guys try to find excuses for the loss.
06:46They're trash.
06:47Management gave up on the team.
06:50Next year, no guarantee.
06:51That's just getting older.
06:53See, to me, that's an overly negative spin on where we sit.
06:57First of all, they are decidedly not trash.
07:00I find it to be unbelievable, based on what we're looking at, that the 49ers are 6-4 and
07:06minus 350 to make the playoffs.
07:08Yeah.
07:08Their starting quarterbacks played two games.
07:10How many games has George Kittle played?
07:12Four?
07:13Yeah.
07:14Four games?
07:14Four or five.
07:15Yeah, four or five games for George Kittle.
07:17How many games has Ricky Pearsall played?
07:18Four?
07:19Yep.
07:19Four or five football games.
07:21Brandon Iyukes played no football games.
07:23Nick Bosa played three football games.
07:26Fred Warner played four or five football games.
07:29The fact that they're 6-4, this is decidedly, unequivocally, by definition, not trash.
07:35Now, the one that's interesting in there is management gave up on the team.
07:41I think that's a heavy-handed way of saying it, but I do still have some feelings about
07:50last Tuesday and the 49ers not making a move going into this particular week sitting at
07:586-3, and if anyone thought that the pass rush would look different than that, then you
08:06were sold a bill of goods.
08:09Right.
08:10Like, they should have known that.
08:12I think they did.
08:14I think they did know that it was going to look like that.
08:16Yeah.
08:17Yeah.
08:17Yeah.
08:17Yeah.
