00:00More than a week after Hurricane Melissa struck, 80 residents of Petit Guave are still struggling to rebuild after losing lives and property.
00:11The storm damaged more than 160 homes and destroyed 80 others in the southwestern Koso town where 10 of the 20 people killed were children.
00:22Some recounted the ordeal that swept off their entire life.
00:28You can see all the damage that happened. Everything we had is gone. Our business, our bank accounts, our animals, our clothes, our beds. We didn't save anything. We weren't expecting the disaster. We were sleeping when I realized I was in the water.
00:52Aided organizations say reaching the town remains difficult with gangs blocking roads and setting up checkpoints between the capital Port-au-Prince and Petit Guave.
