Jamaican officials reported four deaths as a result of Hurricane Melissa on Wednesday (Oct 29), which made landfall a day earlier as the strongest hurricane on record to directly hit the island.

00:13Drone footage from LaCovia in St. Elizabeth Parish showed uprooted trees, damaged buildings and debris along roads.
00:22Melissa slammed into Jamaica as a record-breaking and destructive Category 5 storm
00:27with sustained winds of 185 miles per hour, but it had been downgraded to a Category 3 when it hit Cuba.
00:36The storm moved north of the Caribbean's largest island on Wednesday afternoon
00:40and had been downgraded to a still dangerous Category 2 storm,
00:44threatening the Bahamas and Turks and Caicos with damaging winds, rain and storm surge.
00:51At least 241 communities remained isolated and without communications following the storm's passage across Santiago Province,
