00:00Let's take a look at some of those coaching gigs, Joe.
00:01And I know there's no bigger proponent of Kalshi than you.
00:04I mean, you're heavy into these markets here.
00:05We'll have some fun with it right now.
00:06Who will be the next permanent head coach of the Auburn Tigers?
00:10John Sumrall is actually a leader, Joe.
00:12You lay $100 down on him, pays back $182.
00:15That's an 82% increase for a profit if he does take that job.
00:19Is he, Joe, taking that job?
00:20No, I don't think.
00:21Oh, come on.
00:22Are you betting against him?
00:23Let me go no on this.
00:24I'm not going that route.
00:25If I'm Auburn, I'm going to Eli Drinkwitz with Missouri.
00:28He's a coach that actually went on the planes and knocked off Auburn.
00:33He's a blue-collar coach, a very good at-home physicality on the offensive,
00:38defensive lines, has really coached up Missouri over the past three seasons,
00:42dominated Ohio State in a bowl game, even though Ohio State was minus players.
00:47So in big spots, Drinkwitz has shown the ability to coach up his team,
00:52and with bigger resources in Auburn, depending upon what happens with LSU
00:56and Florida, he's going to have an opportunity, third-best job right now in the SEC.
01:01For me, it's LSU, Florida, Auburn, and then Arkansas.
01:05We'll see where the chips fall.
01:06But for Auburn, if they go somewhere all, could be the same type of hire that they
01:11had with Brian Horson just a few seasons ago.
01:13It seems to me a tough job at Auburn.
01:15Remember, Chizik got in there, Cam Newton the one year, had the unbelievable run.
01:19I get that.
01:19But it just seems like that's one of those jobs where it's not a dead end,
01:22because an SEC job is almost like an NFL job.
01:24There's only so many of them, you're going to get paid a lot of money.
01:26But, boy, that pressure really ramps up.
01:28Like, later in the show, we'll have Terry Baldwin on the talk, like,
01:30the pressures of the SEC, who should be able to get that job.
01:33But it doesn't, like, when Alabama opens up, you want to slide in there.
01:36When Florida opens up, it just feels like you want to slide in there.
01:38When Auburn opens up, it's like, man, that's a tough gig, man.
01:41Yeah, coach will tell you.
01:42And he knows about the boosters when he got the job back in 93,
01:46and he coached there at a 98, you know, he won his first 20 games,
01:50and he was still on the hot seat because of the Pat Dye type of boosters.
01:54And at the end of the day, they put a lot of pressure to step up
01:57and take the hype and the media scrutiny away from Alabama.
02:02It's very easier said than done, right?
02:04The minute that you're 5-5 or under .500, the pressure comes on,
02:08and some coaches can cut it, others can't.
02:11Hugh Freeze did it at Ole Miss, and then he did it at Liberty.
02:15The problem was, Donnie, he got away from his offensive philosophy,
02:20and that really hurt him.
02:20They didn't have a quarterback.
02:22He certainly didn't have it with Peyton Thorne, the Michigan State transfer.
02:25Didn't really elevate with Jackson Arnold,
02:28and that's the main reason why he's on the outside looking in.
02:31And I will just say this, from a defensive perspective,
02:34Auburn and DJ Durkin have done a fantastic job.
02:36It's just their offense was the real weakness this year.
