00:13the ice man cometh but this time not as a collect and connect here's your look at the brand new
00:18mcfarland toys dc multiverse deluxe theatrical edition batman and robins mr freeze
00:29an expert in the field of cryogenics victor led a relatively normal existence he worked diligently
00:34but also fell in love and eventually married a woman named nora sadly things took an unfortunate
00:39turn soon after nora became terminally ill and to stop her degenerative disease from taking her life
00:44victor put her in suspended animation the corporation funding victor's work shut down
00:49his experiments and in the process caused a horrible accident the coolants did an unrepairable
00:54harm and made it impossible for him to survive without freezing temperatures to counteract this
00:58victor constructed a special ultra durable suit to keep his body alive and at the right temperature
01:04he embraced his new persona and became mr freeze yes it's nice to see mr freeze it's a shame though
01:10it means it's a second figure of him before we actually compare the two mr freezes let's first
01:14grab the tape measure and see how tall the figure is going to stand it doesn't at all look like
01:18they've used a different body for the well the previous mr freeze which was essentially a
01:22collect and connect or bath build a figure if you prefer for how tall though victor freeze is going
01:27to stand the tape measures got this guy clocked in at seven and a quarter inches i seem to also
01:31be
01:32measuring this guy at around 18 and a half centimeters tall here's what new mr freeze looks like here's
01:37what old mr freeze looks like essentially the same body the only thing that was different though about
01:41the original mr freeze was that actually he was made of many parts he actually had to buy all of
01:46the
01:46batman figures from batman and robin and each with each of the figures you had yourself a build a figure
01:51piece
01:51that snapped all then together make mr freeze now i at that time thought that mr freeze was the wrong
01:57bath figure to build i thought if anything batman and robin bane would have made better sense now
02:02considering now that we've got a better repaint version of mr freeze makes me even reinforce that idea
02:07that we should have been a bath bane instead of mr freeze now again speaking of the batman and robin

02:13here's of course what he looks like first with batman let's bring in also of course his sidekick
02:17robin right over here we also have poison ivy and we also have batgirl now i think there's also been
02:22announcements now that we're going to be getting like what would you call it the froze fighting the
02:26freeze fighting armor batgirl i'm sure if we are going to be getting a repaint of that batgirl at some
02:31point soon we're probably going to get a repaint of robin as well aside by the way of the obvious

02:36the figure just has better looking paint that figure now finally also comes in clue with a trading card
02:40if you were to build your puzzle pieces here of course there's all the i'm not going to do this
02:44right now this is time i'm sure you guys just don't have but if you were to kind of line
02:49everything
02:49up where's where's batman where's robin supposed to be like right over here oh i don't have nearly
02:55enough hands certainly don't have nearly enough fingers but essentially you'd be able to build
02:59yourself finally the poster art because now we have arnold schwarzenegger's mr freeze front and center
03:04this time also too you've got yourself quite a very meaty paragraph you can pause and read certainly for
03:10yourself it so happens to be the very same thing i read at the beginning of this review as well
03:15so i'm going to actually now i have well you know trading card sheets were like nine so that's there's
03:20no way that really is going to be able to work if i have also batman or robin i've got
03:25uh poison
03:25ivy uma thurman and i've got alicia silverstone's batgirl yeah there's no way i don't think i'll be
03:30able to recreate the uh the poster just by sliding the cards inside the sheets the figure does also
03:36come included with a display stand this time around though the dc logo stand does actually
03:41have a silver dc logo instead of the traditional white walking distance though is the same i mean
03:47from the dc logo to the peg is exactly the same and that could plug into either one of victor's
03:51boots
03:53a lot of what you're going to be seeing here are all in fact things that we already have gotten

03:56the batman and robin wave and i'm going to kind of look at everything individually and i'll compare
04:01it with the like item that came with a previous figure so first for starters you get yourself all
04:06these freeze effect pieces now these are absolutely useless with mr freeze uh they were really more
04:12intended to be displayed but like the batman and the robin so like you had the hand pieces you had
04:17essentially like the hand pieces for batman and robin just to grab in robin right now you could
04:23snap these really around robin's hands i don't know if this actually does belong with robin or if it
04:27belongs to batman you can easily let me know down below in the comment section but the whole
04:31idea though in mind is that these parts really were supposed to belong to things well the other
04:35figures they weren't supposed to belong to mr freeze while robin is right there also why why are we
04:41keeping him him in the frame right now well also because mr freeze also comes in club included with
04:47the torso piece now this would be the part where robin gets frozen and and again essentially it's just
04:53the same piece here's the old piece here's the new piece if anything really could be said between the
04:58two like this this one here it does look like it's a little bit more translucent the original piece
05:02the new piece though does seem like it's a little bit brighter of a blue that's it but again it's
05:08not
05:08really going to be there for mr freeze i mean you could put it on mr freeze but it really
05:12doesn't belong
05:12there just uh like even fighting it on the figure's head you know the moment when you're trying to do
05:18it
05:18that it just doesn't fit and yet though you take yourself robin that snaps so easily in place
05:24and it goes over top of robin's face but this is when robin leaps towards mr freeze and mr freeze
05:29then freezes him batman then has to put him inside the pool the pond and heat it up with his
05:33bat laser
05:34and then lastly though you also again come with it comes included with another piece which again
05:38are all things that we've already gotten with this the other the other figures before it just doesn't
05:43make any sense why include these parts when these aren't parts that really are supposed to go on
05:48mr freeze in the first place saving the plastic for these taking the plastic from these
05:55and of course take the one that goes over oh he can't breathe taking those all off if i had
06:01all
06:01this plastic and i was to somehow take this plastic and mold and melt it into something new and brand
06:08new what would i have done it for what would i have used that plastic for i would have given
06:13him
06:13first of all the wings that go on the back of his body when he leaps out from the rocket
06:16the wings
06:17kind of go and then mr freeze flies the safety i also would have given him the secondary head portrait
06:23where he has the goggles over top the front of his face i would not have used all this plastic
06:28all this plastic i'm just kind of now collecting i certainly would not have included it with mr freeze
06:33if it doesn't go on the figure in the first place one thing though one thing though the figure does
06:39come included with as well as his freeze gun here's the original freeze gun here's the new freeze gun
06:44could we all agree that i think the paint is much better handled here on the newer one i don't
06:49know
06:49if they've actually painted all of this or they have only just molded this in the silver plastic but
06:54either way though the darker silver works so much nicer than on the original gun now in both cases
07:00though they have the removable freeze blast so you don't necessarily like well gotta make sure i don't
07:05lose that if you don't like necessarily having the blast on the end of the gun you just remove it

07:09the nozzle there's a hole right there there's a peg right there come on guys that's simple shapes and
07:14that just plugs in place like that it can be held in his hands just by taking mr freeze's hand

07:20i had to honestly heat this first in hot water the plastic was very unforgiving with the plastic a
07:25little softened it's a little easier now to have him holding the gun now he can either hold the gun
07:30in one hand or like i had at the beginning of this review you can bend his arm around
07:36and get him to now i actually find it's easier first to get him in holding the smaller handle
07:40first and then stretch things around and get it into his other grip of course easier said than done
07:47but he does hold the gun he does essentially does hold in both his hands i'm just having
07:52a real hard time the hardest of times trying to now get this into his hand
07:57well you get the idea so he does hold it he does hold it with both of his hands but
08:01i'm not necessarily saying that giving him the gun it was a bad idea i mean of course he should
08:06have really the gun but why include all those those freeze effect pieces when really it shouldn't
08:12have belonged with the figure in the first place how many times have i now said that i'm going to
08:16stop saying it let's instead though talk about mr freeze and the things that they have certainly
08:19improved upon the obvious one right away is the color the old mr freeze while still having nice
08:25looking silver the silver came more across like he was made of tinfoil the more silverish gunmetal
08:32gray certainly works a whole lot better for mr freeze everything on him whether it be the silver
08:37whether it be the blue which you can see like with the original blue it kind of came across more

08:41a baby blue just painted in there this actually comes across more metallic and it definitely looks
08:45a little bit better what am i talking about it looks a lot more than just a little bit better

08:48looks a whole lot better the helmets are also one thing that has been changed where he would have
08:53had translucent blue plastic for the top of his dome he now has a much more clear plastic works a
08:58little bit better the faces i don't think are any bit different from one another i i mean i i

09:03look at the bodies the arms the legs and assume that they're all going to be the same i don't
09:07think
09:07there's anything at all that they would have changed from this figure to this one here except for one
09:12except for one thing this figure is always prone to having his shoulders popping off the way that
09:19they worked was there was a peg again i'm only explaining the obvious things in front of you
09:23right now with those pegs on either side it would just plug in on one side of the torso and
09:29then on
09:29the other side here as well it's very soft first of all plastic and also by it being so soft
09:35it was
09:36prone to always popping off so as you kind of move the arms around for example you'd always find
09:40yourself i know i'm exaggerating things right now to show you but a lot of times though it result in
09:45popping the shoulder pads off now new mr freeze new mr freeze first of all it does seem like it's
09:53have it's still a soft plastic but it doesn't feel nearly as soft as the original bath figure had
09:57and also i find that i don't know if they have i don't think they've glued it but the pegs

10:03more secure like the shoulder pads aren't going to be popping off at all i find still surprisingly his
10:09arms are a little on the looser side but that's a that's a small problem for an overall better
10:14looking figure the question really then becomes is does this figure need to exist considering that
10:19we already had this one i would say yes i mean this is definitely a vast improvement when it comes

10:24certainly those face the paint on the body is overall just better it doesn't look cheap not that
10:30this looked so cheap but obviously it's made of plastic and i don't really think in the first place
10:34it was all that good of a color plastic anyways i think the new darker gunmetal gray certainly looks a
10:39whole lot better faces though seem to be exactly the same but did we really need though he's not
10:45going to go on about this again did we really need the freeze effect pieces i say no but the
10:51articulation on though mr freeze i know we really haven't spent a whole lot of time looking at the
10:55face the face wasn't bad before the face is even better now does look a lot like arnie this guy

11:01top billing i mean of course he's gonna get top billing over george clooney it's it's schwarzenegger
11:06we're talking about here the body looks good i mean plastic though for the figure he seems like
11:11he's about the same weight maybe just a little bit heavier i don't know if they've just changed
11:14their plastics there's definitely a lot more of a wash now that they've added to things like
11:18his abdomen area where the original one really did feel unfinished really looked also unfinished as
11:23well so it definitely is a better looking painted mr freeze but for the figure's articulation the
11:29head's going to be exactly well everything on this figure articulation wise it's going to be
11:32exactly the same head's going to rotate all the way around despite having so much going on
11:38i did not like the look of mr freeze he looked like first of all he was wearing a construction
11:42helmet it just he also looked like he was a cross between a construction worker and the guy from the
11:48running man the guy that had all the neon glowing lights on him what was the guy's name nitro no
11:55good for me of course to pick a name i'm trying to now think of a character i can't even
11:59think of his
11:59name was it nitro it wasn't nitro somebody can let me i'm sure know down below in the comment section
12:03did not like the look of mr freeze but anyways what were we doing we were going to go through
12:07the articulation we already looked at the head it rotates all the way around head moves up and down
12:12back and forth as well top of the torso is going to be on a very good ball joint i
12:16mean everything
12:17on this figure is the same as the previous mr freeze it's more though cosmetic the lower abdomen
12:22is also going to be the same as well arms rotate all the way around now this time i don't
12:26have as
12:27many of a worry to that the shoulders are going to be popping off i mean i wouldn't want to
12:31force
12:31those off because i'm sure that once they pop off they're going to be a harder thing to get back
12:34in
12:34place but so far come on in so far right now yeah it doesn't seem like the shoulder pads are
12:40going
12:41to be popping off he has a bicep swivel there single hands only for the elbow that's not a bad
12:46thing
12:46hands rotate all the way around legs split and they split pretty well too they go forward and back
12:53now here's more where the limitations come because he has so large of a you could call it a figure
12:58diaper you could just call it sculpting either way though with how much he's got bulk down below
13:02stop that doesn't seem like he can move his legs as much forward and back out is not so much
13:08of an
13:08issue forward and back a little bit more swivel at the top of the thigh single hinge though for the
13:12knee rotation lower leg ankle pivot up and down there's his boots by the way just in case you want
13:18to
13:19see what those look like ankle pivot back and forth ankle hinge only just a little bit figure
13:24does also have toe articulation oh i actually just pinched myself doing that that'll teach me
13:31yeah overall it's a much better looking mr freeze but then it poses the problem if you already happen
13:36to have this mr freeze i would think that most people probably are going to be ditching the original
13:41victor in favor of the better victor but then which is the victor again playing on the words
13:47obviously this is the better looking mr freeze unfortunately though this mr freeze i still feel
13:53never should have been a bath figure should have most people generally were collecting i think the
13:58batman and robin figures i don't think they necessarily needed to be nudged by getting a
14:02build a figure of mr freeze i think saying that though the the bane i think would have been better
14:08since bring the bane as the bath figure not mr freeze mr freeze should have only ever been released
14:14as a singular figure and and saying that now that's essentially really what we've got the problem
14:19also comes too with this mr freeze is yes he does improve the paint he does look more realistic but
14:25then he still has all these extra parts that really don't belong to him they never belonged to him in
14:29the first place they are the same ones that we got with the previous batman and robin figures and they
14:34don't even belong with him they belong more with batman or they belong more with robin and batman in the
14:39back so he never should have really had that plastic be used again that plastic should have
14:45been mel i'm not gonna do this in diagrams here but like had they only just melted the same amount
14:52of plastic because again i'm looking at how much is in my hand right now and i'm thinking that same
14:57levels of plastic could either have been for the wings to go on the back of his body so again

15:01incentive already to get this figure if you didn't need the incentive before or melt the plastic down
15:07magic magic magic magic and i would have made then the alternate head sculpt for then mr freeze that
15:12would have had the goggles on the front of his face i don't know about life giving you lemons but
15:16if mcfarlane gives you extra effect pieces you might as well find at least a place to clip it onto
15:20the
15:20figure's body i guess using some of those parts you could look like mr well you make it look like
15:25mr freeze is starting to freeze over which sort of again defeats the purpose altogether the man is
15:30supposed to prevent getting hot he's always supposed to be cold so there really shouldn't be any effect
15:35freeze pieces that are going to go on his body in the first place but they they are there i
15:40mean i
15:40guess you could just kind of drape them on his body sort of like a blanket which again is kind
15:45of defeating the purpose for mr freeze it defeats the purpose completely that these effect pieces
15:49were even included in the package anyways i would hate to kind of look at the package budget and say
15:53well this is how much it would have cost less had they not include the freeze effect pieces if that
15:59was the case i would have just signed up right away and say yeah i want this figure without those
16:02freeze pieces and then just i don't know if again like would that have made a difference of like a
16:07couple of dollars here and there but still though it would have made for a cheaper looking figure
16:11the thing that sells this guy isn't the things that clip onto other figures bodies what sells it
16:17is the color of his body and the fact that he looks notably better you didn't have to have a
16:23new
16:23sculpt there was nothing really wrong with the sculpt in the first place it just so unfortunately had to
16:27be the case that the original mr freeze was a bath or a collect and connect so you had to
16:32buy all
16:32the other figures in order to build mr freeze and that's fine if you already are collecting batman
16:36and robin but i said then and i'll say now mr freeze should have always been a singular sold figure

16:42should have never been a bath if you're gonna make a bath and he had to be a bath in
16:47that wave
16:47i think bane right away should have been the one that should have been the bath and it should have
16:52never been this victor freeze in the first place the fact that now we are getting the better
16:57looking mr freeze only again reinforces the fact that what's going to happen to batman and
17:02robin's bane jeep swanson well i know unfortunately though the actor had to pass away wrestler also
17:07as well but yeah what's going to happen to jeep swanson's bane are we ever going to get a figure
17:11for that he should have been the rightful bearer of being a bath it should have never been mr freeze
17:17that's again the past the present though is we've got a better looking mr freeze it just means though
17:22that if you already have the previous mr freeze you're probably not you're not going to turf him
17:26but i would imagine most people are probably going to be getting rid of that mr freeze
