00:13he's a man of few words just don't know which side of his face those words are coming from
00:17here's your look at mcfarland toys dc direct red platinum edition batman 1989 two-face
00:30harvey dent has led a deeply conflicted life possessing a split personality that veers between
00:34two extremes good and evil dent goes by the name of two-face it's an apt description of his physical
00:39appearance scarred by acid into outwardly becoming a monster that he once hid away from the world
00:44two-face has become a tragic figure and one of batman's most unpredictable and dangerous opponents
00:50harvey doesn't want to be worrying about any ghosts and goblins he's got his own demons to worry about
00:54before that we get a closer look at the 1989 two-face harvey dent let's first take the tape measure
00:59and see how tall the figure is going to stand i grabbed this on the facebook marketplace i grabbed
01:03this from popeye the toy man he's actually supplied a couple of figures that we're going to be looking
01:10at throughout the course of this week so stay tuned for that in the meantime though harvey dent seems to
01:15stand at seven inches in height or about 17 and a half centimeters tall now i know this isn't really
01:21the 89 batman but being that i don't like the 89 batman as much as i like the returns the
01:25returns
01:26usually is the one that ends up sitting on my tim burton shelf figures that were already on that
01:30shelf at that time even though they really didn't have much of a strong likeness to jack napier or
01:35really jack nicholson for that matter here's what the figure looks like with the 89 joker here's also
01:40what he looks like with the batman returns why are you filling up so much space over here and not
01:44nearly enough over there here's also what he looks like with penguin here's what he also looks like
01:48with michelle pfeiffer's catwoman and of course here's also what he looks like with maxwell shrek for this
01:53side i wanted to set aside some space to of course put in the many two-face here's what the
01:58figure
01:58looks like with a batman and robin i'm sorry batman forever two-face then of course we also got a
02:03couple of comic two-faces as i'm kind of bringing these figures in right now it it does occur to
02:08me
02:08though i forgot to bring in the dark knight one but again like still again you get the idea there's
02:13a
02:13lot of two-faces that have gone around we've yet to get one from the 89 until we got one
02:16now granted
02:17i know billy d williams never does transform into two-face in the 89 movie i think the plan had
02:21in mind
02:22that he was going to turn into two-face if for the sequel then of course that got scratched in
02:26favor of michelle pfeiffer's catwoman and danny devito's penguin what we get though instead is
02:30actually an adaptation of the 89 batman had billy d williams transformed before we actually look at
02:35that let's look at this the figure does come included with a circular black display stand
02:39man that looks pretty there's a dc logo down the side there and just in walking distance from that
02:43there's a peg that can plug into either one of two faces feet figure does also come included with a
02:48trading card i like to look at this trading card quite a lot that the shadow of the bat is
02:53the
02:53thing that's covering over the side the scarred side of two-face i also really like the blue for
02:59the face i'm gonna talk more about that in a moment nice looking card though by the way unfortunately
03:05though on the back of the card it doesn't really give much of a read-up that if i was
03:07to look at this
03:08part of the paragraph i wouldn't be able to connect the dots and say necessarily that yeah that's 89
03:13harvey dent it's sort of just a generalized statement of what the character is scarred on
03:19both his psyche so again you get yourself the card i just kind of wish the read-up followed suit
03:24to
03:24that whether it's half of a suit or not the figure does also come include as i already mentioned an
03:29adaptation of the batman 89 now this is the 89 adaptation where it does actually start to include
03:34things like robin two-face and it also comes and brings back a bat bat girl bad cat woman
03:39flipping quickly through the pages you can kind of start things out first i think the artwork on
03:45the inside comic is really nice i like also and this will likely be something we're going to talk
03:51a lot about when we look at the figure itself that because it's tim burton black and white stripes
03:55seems to be his calling card it seems to also be two faces calling card as well uh michelle pfeiffer
04:00of course i keep calling michelle pfeiffer that's cat woman also comes back and there's batman down below
04:05here as well for those that have plans to read through the comic i'm not going to spoil this for
04:09you if i'm just going to quickly flip through it here's robin again like really nice looking
04:13artwork overall and i like that this time around we actually get a comic that has something to do
04:18with the character and move that aside i'm going to read that i'm going to sit down a little bit
04:23later i think and read that with a cup of coffee i like my coffee with honey by the way
04:28for the
04:29accessories uh unfortunately has nothing nothing whatsoever it's once again that mandate where
04:35unfortunately like characters that have to have guns don't come include with guns
04:38and yet we somehow always seem to manage to get ourselves a spawn that has tons of guns now what
04:44i could possibly do i just happen to have myself a tommy gun here i believe this was from black
04:49heart
04:49black hawk black hawk uh i had used that for a while actually for my stand-in dc classics two
04:56-faced
04:56but i might actually end up using it maybe also i got a couple of these anyways i'm going to
05:01use
05:01maybe one i feel with a billy billy d williams two-faced and then i'll use it the other one
05:05with the
05:06comic book technically he does really have a hand um as you can see with the finger already
05:10sticking out that's perfect had there been a gun included but again we can make shift that
05:15we can make lemons what is it lemonade out of lemons life gives you lemons you got to make lemonade
05:20well
05:21what what happens when life gives you a scarred face you got to carry around a coin but yeah that's
05:25how i'm going to be likely displaying the figure of two-face nice with a tommy gun in his hand
05:29i just
05:29wish really the figure could have had that out of the packaging in the first place
05:34what he does have however though is his coin now the coin doesn't necessarily look like it's scarred
05:41i can't quite see it doesn't look like oh there's something on that my old man eyes i'm having a
05:48hard
05:48time making that out but at least though the coin has been painted in the the idea him borrowing a
05:53coin actually doesn't necessarily come from i don't believe this two-face ever really had that coin
05:58however though if you happen to have the comic two-face not only does he borrow the coin hand
06:04from that but it seems like he also borrows the exact same body as well it's funny though that he
06:09flips the colors around so like the comic two-face when we looked at was this the regular one i
06:14think
06:14maybe this was the regular one when we looked at this one it had clearly though white on one side
06:19black on the other two-face flips that color scheme around and obviously there's this version of
06:23two-face too this is usually the one that i have on my shelf when it comes to my classic
06:28villains
06:29just because i like the color scheme on him just a little bit more two-face though does get that
06:33coin
06:33from that figure now because he only really has this one hand if you wanted to swap this out for
06:39say
06:39another white hand you'd have to try to find another figure that matches that same similar color
06:43because the figure doesn't have any other swapped out options get a good look at the face though for
06:48two-face what i like about this though is that they actually bleached both his eyebrows and his
06:53mustache now whereas like caesar romero's joker would have hit the fat didn't really hide it all
07:00that well that they just wanted to paint over top of his mustache this time though around they actually
07:05clearly draw your attention to the fact he's got now a bleached mustache and a bleached eyebrow
07:09i think that's awesome i also really prefer my two faces to always have crazy hair just a like a
07:15scarred
07:15bald head just doesn't cut it for me if you're going to go crazy like this go all out crazy
07:20so again like the one side does look very much like billy d williams and of course then you've
07:25got the scarred side all done here in blue it actually kind of looks more like an anime character
07:30when you see it from this side the color for that they've added to the white looks good as well
07:35for
07:35the hair again you've got the white for the eyebrow large eye obviously is again another calling card
07:40for two-face it's a really nice looking figure it is a really nice looking figure of course half and
07:45half
07:45the one thing that isn't surprisingly enough half is his tie his tie seems like it's the exact well
07:50it is the exact same color just alternating colors of black and red now he does also have a handkerchief
07:56the thing that seems interesting about this is that the handkerchief is not sculpted in there
08:00because i thought initially when i saw it inside the packaging oh they've gone and sculpted differently
08:05a jacket because like he has the same pocket piece but what he didn't have though was a handkerchief
08:10no they haven't sculpted that in they've actually just printed it on the jacket which is fine i don't
08:17necessarily expect i mean really the fact that we already now have a brand new head everything else
08:22really from that head down i'm fine for the fact that they had to just use a mold from other
08:27figures
08:27so to go in in there and just sculpt that little bit of plastic right there is that really a
08:32big deal
08:33i don't think it's a big deal some could say that's a really big deal i think you've got bigger
08:37worries the worry in life the stripes look good on his jacket now again he doesn't just have like
08:41large bold stripes either he has small thinner strands lines there as well i like that a lot so
08:47it's not just i think if you had had too many bold lines so close together i think it just
08:53would have
08:53taken too much away from the jacket by spacing them the way that they have and then adding the
08:58little line just in the middle of that i think that looks really good it's more compact clearly here
09:04for the legs but again like if you're going to do like a tim burton uh two-face i mean
09:08tim burton's
09:09all really about his stripes i mean look at jack skellington so i think that that's a perfect design
09:13for two-face and i don't know what it is i still think i love blue faces nes jason for
09:19example well
09:20not necessarily a blue face faker from man and massive universe it seems just to be the case that
09:25whenever there's a blue face the guy behind the camera really loves it i really like the look of two
09:30-face
09:30there could have yes been improvements yeah that's not large ones just including a gun
09:35could have really gone a long way but again like if you've collected enough of these dc multiverse
09:39figures i have certainly collected enough of dc multiverse figures there is certainly enough guns
09:44to go around i just wish really like these figures out of the packaging if this is the first and
09:48only
09:48time you picked up a dc figure you'd like to really think that all the figures are going to have
09:52those accessories the moment you get them first out for the figures articulation we'll run through
09:57things right now the head's going to be on a ball joint all the things that i'm about to do
10:01are all
10:02things expected to be with two-face so like for example like when we looked at this one which does
10:08look like they've actually used the exact same scarring on his face let me let me just look at the
10:12comic version of him lift up the neck here for a second yeah you know what the neck looks like
10:18it's a
10:19little bit more sculpted than the comic version let's just bring back in batman returns two-face
10:25yeah they probably have well i mean again like even if you like looking at the bodies
10:28the bodies are exactly the same so it would have just been so much easier yeah just to take the
10:33sculpted neck here from this definitely it does look like it's a more scarred neck than the comic
10:37version they probably just use the entire body from that what was i talking about lost my train of
10:43thoughts no i didn't the head is going to be on a bulge right so it allows the head to
10:46rotate all the
10:47way around head can look down and up back and forth of course when it comes to his arms they
10:52also
10:52rotate all the way around we've been through this before i know we have hinging out those arms you
10:58can hinge it out on this side as well t pose just like that just like that swivel in the
11:03bicep here
11:04swivel on the bicep here swivel on the bicep everywhere well only really in just two places
11:09hinge in the elbow one here and one here hands do rotate all the way around yes they do
11:14um the waist does swivel even though like he has a longer jacket the jacket at least is softer plastic
11:21this does also allow the torso to move up and down back and forth do i ever get too close
11:25too close when it comes to showing these things let's move it back just a little bit there we go
11:30speaking of moving it back just a little bit it actually does move quite a far bit back you can
11:35also hinge the torso forward as well rocking back and forth there as well legs split ratchet joints
11:41again swivel at the top of the thigh ratcheted double hinges in the knees and then of course you got
11:46your foot articulation ankle articulation and the figure does also have some toe articulation
11:52yeah yeah it's a good looking figure i know i'm late to looking at this this figure has been around
11:56for a bit but i did want to get my hands on this one especially like it would go so
12:01really well
12:01with of course my my tim burton shelf now again we didn't get this guy technically in a movie but
12:08we
12:08did get him in some subsequent appearances there was a comic interpretation i think a comic and
12:12adaptation of two-faced and then he's also made the rounds when it comes to merchandise as well
12:17so if you want to get this guy displayed even though really the two of these never to then the
12:22two of them never team up again here's what he looks like with the jack nicholson joker from the
12:2689 film and again because she's also in the comic too that's what that's the way he's going to look
12:30like why not he's dead we can bring him back anyways again like all your your batman tim burton film
12:36figures of course not really going to be talking about batman forever even though really like alpha
12:40does connect you could say well they're canon because alfred exists batman forever batman and
12:46robin but yeah if you're only really wanting to stick to the burton stuff before of course schumacher
12:50got his hands on it then of course i think two-faced does fill fill in really nicely on the
12:55shelf even
12:56though he didn't technically exist in the films he certainly can exist in plastic he certainly can also
13:00exist standing on your shelf yes i know this isn't technically a tommy gun that comes and clue the
13:06billy d williams two-faced but considering really that he borrows so much from other body parts
13:10anyways boring just another accessory that didn't belong to him in the first place seemed like the
13:15natural thing to do i feel again like these figures like this if you're going to also include hands
13:20that clearly look like they're designed to be displayed with a gun again i don't know what the
13:24mandate may be when it comes to dc stuff but it doesn't seem to have any problems whatsoever when it
13:30comes to including a buttload of different guns when it comes to his spawn figures throw every once in a
13:35while just a bone or a bone a tommy bone maybe at a figure like a two-faced because the
13:40figure does
13:40really need to have a weapon something for him to hold in his hand if he's going to be flipping
13:45a coin
13:45after all when it lands on scarred you know there needs to be like a result an answer to that
13:50so of
13:51course the answer comes with a gun that had he had one in his hand you know he'd be firing
13:56off right
13:56now figure looks fantastic though again i like that even though this figure doesn't technically while the
14:02character doesn't really exist in the movie verse he has existed at least enough outside of the film
14:08verse that they decided to make a figure from an ongoing question i mean like people have even tried
14:12to do that with like cg nowadays they could easily just do it with chat gpt or like an ai
14:17source just
14:17create a scene slap it on the internet who really needs water after all right but yeah to just to
14:24make
14:24ai i'm sure somebody has made an ai scene with billy d williams playing two-faced i like the blue
14:29face
14:29myself and i think the things that i like about the figure probably the most are the bleached eyebrow
14:34and the bleached mustache what was that all about for all intents and purposes that would be a really
14:39silly thing to be but i mean considering that billy d williams much like caesar romero generally was
14:45known for having a mustache even when he was lando calerizian i think he was also had a mustache for
14:49that as well you know to keep that in there you can't think that oh all of a sudden now
14:54because
14:54two-faced has a scarred face he's going to lose the mustache i say no no you don't lose hair
14:59when
14:59you get scarred by acid again i'm not going to be upping debate on that question but i like to
15:04have
15:05my two faces with long crazy hair i like to have my billy d two-face with a mustache as
15:10well what do
15:11you guys think of the 1989 batman two-face have you guys already had the chance to pick this one
15:16up
15:16what would you have done differently to change on this figure or do you think he's perfect the way that
15:21he is do you think like the idea of bleaching a mustache and bleaching an eyebrow not that i do
15:25either one of those you think that's the only thing to do do you also for your video question
15:29for today prefer your two-face to have hair or do you think that the scarred side needs to have
15:34no hair we'll have a debate down below in the comment section two-faced with hair two-faced with
15:38no hair let's see who i don't want to say let's see who wins but let's see what you guys
15:42have have to
15:43say down below again if you guys did enjoy this video you could do it that's solid and hit it
15:47with a like
15:47and if you guys also want to stalk me over on socials you can find all that information the
15:51411 down below in the video description but if you also need a fix for more video content
15:56there's gonna be a spot for that it's right here inside the videos
