00:00We've got a lot going on around the sports universe right now on this 6th of November.
00:07And let's dive into, well, right off the bat, some of the headlines that we've been working
00:13on and following here on this Thursday.
00:17And it all started early this morning with breaking news as ESPN and Penn Entertainment
00:25are now shaking hands and saying goodbye as they are ending their sports betting partnership
00:32after two years.
00:33Now, this comes after signing a 10-year, $2 billion deal just a few years ago in 2023.
00:42ESPN Bet, well, will no longer be come the end of this month.
00:48In fact, December 1st, we will see no more ESPN Bet as that brand deal will come and go.
00:55By the way, eight years left on that initial agreement.
01:00But they have decided that, well, a billion dollars in losses is just far too much for
01:06them.
01:06And they are moving on.
01:09And shortly after that announcement, we also then learned that ESPN has already forged a
01:16relationship with DraftKings.
01:18That's right.
01:19They have announced earlier here that ESPN and DraftKings have an agreement to make DraftKings
01:26the exclusive and official sportsbook and odds provider of ESPN.
01:33That is, again, going to happen come December 1st here.
01:37So just a few weeks away.
01:40And there will be no more marketing of ESPN Bet.
01:43It will all be about DraftKings.
01:46Kind of crazy when you think about it here.
01:50Just what a difference a couple of years makes.
01:53Ten-year, multi-billion-dollar deals that are no more.
01:58We also learned, as a side note, that it appears Penn and The Score have now created a partnership
02:06that will also take place come December 1st.
02:10In the meantime, we've got a pretty interesting game coming up here tonight, Thursday Night
02:14Football, kicking off Week 10.
02:17How about them Raiders taking on the Denver Broncos in Mile High?
02:22And the Raiders currently sitting at a nine-and-a-half-point dog, a battle of AFC West rivals.
02:30And the situation here is, keep an eye on that total, 41-and-a-half.
02:34That is not a very high total for a game in which we've got the Broncos as a ten-and-a-half-point
02:43favorite.
02:44In fact, let's hear from Bo Nix on what he thinks is going on here with Denver and his
02:50good old friend Pete Carroll.
02:51We've heard a lot about the win streak, but we're not even really, you know, thinking about
02:55that because we have so many things that we want to correct.
02:57And we feel like we haven't even played a complete game offensively, much less, you know, as a team.
03:03And so, you know, I think once we start doing that, then we've got to be careful about being
03:07too lax.
03:08But until then, guys, we're all in a growth mindset and we're worried about the things
03:13that we can fix because there's several of them from each position that we're trying
03:18to focus on.
03:19I think it's, you think of all the years with Drew Brees, you think of him as a passing
03:23guy.
03:24But they weren't when you played against them.
03:26They were always had a real good conscience about running the football.
03:29So he's got really good mix.
03:31And as we've seen for years, utilizes personnel in unique ways, you know, that fits their style
03:37and, you know, their makeup.
03:39And so, like, there's just, there's nothing about his game that isn't on point.
03:45You know, he's smart.
03:46It's aggressive.
03:48They're consistent.
03:50They take care of the football.
03:51They've been doing that for a long time.
03:53That's what's made them consistently successful, I think.
03:57Got to love Pete Carroll.
03:58He's probably wondering, like, here I am in my mid to upper 70s.
04:02What in the world did I get myself into by taking over this Raiders team?
04:07But it's never too late.
04:09Opportunity here to be able to take a little pound of flesh from the Denver Broncos here
04:16tonight.
04:17And talking about a pound of flesh, looks like the Cardinals have decided, well, Kyler Murray
04:23needs to go on the IR.
04:25With a foot injury, they say he's not 100%, and there's no point in playing him, especially
04:32given the fact that Jacoby Brissett has been so good as the backup, and that offense has
04:38been humming along with Jacoby Brissett.
04:40The problem is Cardinals still owe Kyler Murray $100 million, and the trade market might not be
04:48there with that contract if he is just simply a backup.
04:51This way on the IR, well, they can wait to see and kick the can down the road a little
04:57bit.
04:57In the meantime, Sean McVay says Puka Nakua, well, he should be able to play Sunday for
05:03the 49ers.
05:04Here's what he had to say.
05:05But as far as injuries are concerned, Jordan Whittington's back's a little bit sore, kind
05:09of tightened up in the game the other day.
05:11We're going to be smart with him, so he'll be off today.
05:13But I expect him to be able to make good progress, and he's a tough dude, and kind of being smart
05:20with him.
05:20And then as far as Puka and Darius, they'll both be limited, but they are looking good
05:25for the game.
05:25How did Puka's imaging come back?
05:27Good.
05:28Yeah, he was good.
05:29So, the soft warrior.
05:32No, I'm just kidding.
05:33He's so dang tough, but he's good.
05:35It was good positive stuff on the scan, and he's as tough as it gets, and he's feeling
05:39good.
05:39So, we're anticipating and excited about him being ready to roll.
05:44Big game coming up against the 49ers.
05:47Big NFC West battle for the Rams in that one.
05:50They need him healthy, and the Jets have denied the Chiefs a trade offer for their number
05:57one running back, Brees Hall, at the deadline.
06:01The Chiefs were offering a fourth-round pick, but the Jets, well, they were holding out for
06:06a third-round.
06:08Here's what Brees Hall had to say with the craziness at the deadline.
06:11It is what it is, you know.
06:13Like I said, from the summer, I'm not promising anything.
06:16I'm not necessarily their guy that they drafted, so there's no guarantee.
06:20There's no nothing.
06:22So, every week, I've been trying to go out there and earn it, so that's just what it
06:25is.
06:26There were two different reports that came out that said you had a desire to be traded,
06:30that you wanted, you would welcome one.
06:32Is that true?
06:33I think there's just been a lot of stuff out.
06:36You know, just stemming from the summer, there's been a lot of stuff that's true and
06:41false.
06:42So, you know, I just let that be what it is.
06:43It's out there.
06:45It is what it is.
06:46But, you know, I'm here, and I'm worried about, you know, we're playing Cleveland this
06:49week.
06:49That's what I'm worried about.
06:50Did you ever request a trade?
06:51No.
06:53Yeah, Brees Hall saying, yeah, what do you think?
06:55Is it the NBA?
06:56I don't get to request trades.
06:58It's the NFL.
06:59But, speaking of the NBA, what a wild one last night with the Lakers taking on the San Antonio
07:09Spurs and Victor Webayama.
07:11Everybody fouled out in that one, it seems.
07:15Austin Reeves was a late scratch, but have no fear.
07:18Luka Doncic is here.
07:19Luka Doncic is here.
07:2035 points, 13 assists, nine boards as the Lakers held on to beat the Spurs, 118 to 116.
07:28And boy, oh boy, the Denver Nuggets continue their domination over the Miami Heat.
07:33The Miami Heat have not beaten Denver in the regular season since 2016.
07:39Yeah, that's 2016.
07:41Jokic, 33 points, 16 assists, 15 boards.
07:45Kind of crazy the domination that this Denver organization has had over the Miami Heat.
07:52Adanobi and Brunson for the Knicks.
07:55Well, they were all about, you know, beating down the Minnesota Timberwolves last night,
08:00who welcomed back their star, Anthony Edwards.
08:04But nothing he was going to do in this route.
08:07The Knicks pretty much dominated the Timberwolves in every which way they could.
08:13137 to 114.
08:15The Knicks had seven players score 10 or more points in that game.
08:20They're now 5-0 at home.
08:23And Donovan Mitchell was glad to get Darius Garland and others back in that lineup for the Cavs.
08:29This is a little bit more like it offensively.
08:31Donovan Mitchell drops a season-high 46 points to lead the Cavs to a 132-121 victory over the very,
08:42well, shall we say, young and upstart 76.
08:45Oh, that's right.
08:46Joel Embiid is still there.
08:47But he didn't play because it was the second night of a back-to-back.
08:52That was a good one there.
