00:11cotton club then it was the Apollo and if you were black and talented those are two places

00:16you dreamed about playing. Leroy look at all these stars. I'm telling you all the greats played here

00:21all the greats. For a long time this was it for us though. Most doors were closed for blacks.

00:41stars too. But if I could pick another one I would say the Apollo one. Sure. Yeah because that gave me

00:48a chance to see my culture and experience that. We actually went to New York and we were at the

00:52Apollo. Oh my gosh. Just amazing to see all that energy and all that fire and all that struggle

00:58to become famous and then be a part of it too so that was major. What? I guess the way we do that

01:04is to carry on right? Yeah. Sometimes it's not so easy. Well I don't care because I'm gonna be up there
