00:13these musical sequences and dance sequences on fame all the time and sometimes they could be a

00:18fantasy and this was cleo's fantasy so there was the record company wanted to push this

00:23and they wanted to push this uh do this video with her but they weren't gonna have any of my

00:29kids and i said wait wait wait if fame is paying for it then it's going to be about fame it's going

00:34to be about her dreaming and so we went down hollywood boulevard and was seeing herself as an

00:40iconic hollywood star

01:16And Janet was always, and still, one of the sweetest young people I ever had the chance

01:35to work with, and she really could do anything.

01:39I could see, as an actress, I knew her before, because her mother Catherine would bring her

01:44to all my Broadway shows.

01:45So I knew them.

01:47I knew Janice.

01:48I saw her at Radio City Music Hall when she was like eight years old.

01:53And so I knew her as a younger child.

01:55And now as a young adult, I could see she really had this gift.

01:59She just needed a really good director to help her know where to go.

02:03She could do anything.

02:04So Dream Street was very much something that I helped create the idea of it.
