00:00I didn't know who Madonna was other than she was this girl who was singing in some clubs downtown and had a little heat going for her.

00:07Hi, Madonna. I'm from Detroit and I'm 21.

00:11I sing my record, well I have 24 track songs that I sing live to, so the music sounds a lot like the record.

00:19This song that's like out on the radio right now, it's called Everybody and it's about getting people to dance and lose their inhibitions.

00:25So I like taunt my dancers and get them to get up and do different things on their own.

00:30The look was very unique, so we were quite excited and then she read.

00:34Look, Danny, you play games and I play games. We're both just too good at it.

00:39You didn't expect anything real to happen between us, did you?

00:41The role that Madonna came in for was to be a love interest girlfriend for the character of Danny.

00:47And she was supposed to be a nice, plain, simple, virginal girl next door.

00:52So where were you last night? You're supposed to meet me at 7 o'clock.

00:55I waited 45 minutes in the library.

00:58You did?

00:59Man, you see what I mean? You asked me out to see how long I'd wait for you and you wouldn't show up.

01:03The reading was very stiff and it just sounded phony.

01:12I don't think we have any regrets that we didn't choose her for this role.

01:15I think the regret comes that we didn't have the foresight to change the role and then hire her.

01:32You're just in Florida?

01:34Right, doing a tour in Florida.

01:37Traveling around with my crew of dancers.

01:40How many of you are there?

01:41There's three other dancers.

01:43And what kind of, I mean, I know how to describe what you're doing?

01:46What, the dancing?

01:48Well, I sing my record.

01:50Well, I have 24-track songs that I sing live to.

01:54So the music sounds a lot like the record.

01:57And I choreograph like scenarios for each of the songs.

02:00And they pretty much dance behind me.

02:02And then when I'm not singing, I'm kind of joining with them.

02:04What kind of scenarios are you talking about?

02:06Well, it depends on, like, if the songs, like, the song that's out on the radio right now,

02:13it's called Everybody, and it's about getting people to dance and lose their inhibitions.

02:16So I, like, taunt my dancers and get them to get up and do different things on their own.

02:21And then if it's a love song, it's kind of like, you know, we're relating to each other

02:25in a flirtation kind of way, so, I don't know, just kind of create simple little things

02:30to go along with music.

02:34I don't think this is going to work out.

03:19Yeah, vaguely.

03:22It's like a dream.

03:28No, no, I don't got to do anything but pay taxes, die, and pass my midterm exam.
