00:00How did they do that? It was so easy when they do it. And you know, it's not easy being a short

00:11person in a tough neighborhood. I was brought up in a tough neighborhood. My neighborhood was so

00:16tough that if you wanted leaded fuel, the attendant would shoot you in the gas. Oh, this stinks.

00:24I played Danny Amatullo. And you know, my character was pretty much based on a neighborhood Italian

00:34teenager who wanted a better life for himself and wanted to be a stand-up comedian, which really

00:43transpired from the movie, which was played by Barry Miller and the Ralph Garcy character. So the

00:50whole character changed once it went to network. So it was really just, you know, showing

00:56as of all the cast members, just a total spectrum of different colors and creeds and religions

01:03of kids that aren't afraid to do the work and why they're doing the work. You know, I think

01:11everybody has something behind them that's kind of kicking them into the next phase of

01:18their life, you know. And so that was, and then as the years go on, you, you know, the

01:23comedian kind of leaves and, and they want you to be a singer or they, they want you to

01:27you're working at, you know, a diner or you want to do this or that, but it was, it was

01:33an avenue. It was an avenue to show, um, to show people that number one, it takes work to

01:40do things. Things aren't handed to you. And, um, I think we, I think we portrayed that well.
