00:00Mr. Montelli that is music only a mother could love. Is it lunchtime? For me always. For you
00:10another hour or so. Again so I was like you know about six years older than my character
00:18and what I always felt was it initially starts with me and the character and I think you know
00:27Bill because we had that time between the pilot and the series there was more time to think about
00:33who that was and for me I feel like Doris had
00:40my adolescence with the gift of hindsight. So I think Doris had the best parts of my adolescence
00:54of how I felt about myself. I mean because I was in a high school where it was like the high school
01:01the performing arts even though it just had a huge performing arts department. So everything that she
01:06did and who she was is very similar to me. I'm the person who doesn't have a boyfriend like you know
01:14I'm the person who's not the person because I'm the person who looks younger than everybody else. I don't
01:19look like everybody else. I don't look like everybody who's becoming more young womanly.
01:24I just look like a kid a little kid and um and I'm not considered you know I'm not I'm not the girl
01:32that everyone wants to ask out. I'm not that person. I think it comes from who I had begun to be as a
01:40young adult which really comes from my mom. I think it's both things. When I watch the series sometimes
01:47I can see the combination of my mom and my dad. Like my dad is the one who goes we're doing the show
01:54and you're doing this and you're doing this and you're doing this and you know. So I see that and I see
01:59and the part of my mom is the person with enormous empathy uh caretaker. Big care. I mean Doris is
02:09clearly caretaker. If you have a archetypical role this is the caretaker. This is this is that person
02:16who tries to take care of everybody else and you know it projects into the entire rest of my career.
02:24Not going so well I take it. You take it right. I just can't make this work the way Sharowski would
02:31want it to. Rewrite it? Nah I couldn't do that. Wouldn't be fair. If Sharowski were here if I could
02:38argue with him show him that my way was okay fine. But to rewrite him without him getting a chance to
02:43fight back wouldn't be fair. Why are you so worried about fair? What's fair about any of this? What's
02:51fair about a system that keeps a barfeteria open and closes down the rest of the school?
03:01I'll see you next time.
