00:00I ain't paying for none of this s**t. I got babies at home that gotta eat.
00:03Fox News is being called out for publishing a story featuring SNAP beneficiaries on camera,
00:09but several of those videos were actually created by AI.
00:16The original headline published Friday read,
00:19SNAP beneficiaries threatened to ransack stores over government shutdown.
00:23The article, written by a production assistant, cited social media reaction
00:28and referred to the people in the AI clips as real users online.
00:33But after users pointed out the videos weren't real, Fox kept the article up,
00:38just changed the headline and added an editor's note admitting the videos were AI.
00:43Fox has not responded to the backlash, but many are calling for the article to be taken down.
00:49It is the taxpayer's responsibility to take care of my kids!
00:53While AI is making it harder to tell what's real from what's fake,
00:57there are still some telltale signs.
01:00Take the first video we showed you.
01:02You'll notice patches of blur or graininess, like on the cola bottle,
01:07which is normally a common AI artifact.
01:10AI also struggles with written words.
01:12Look at the shirt.
01:14It appears to say born to be, but the letters after B-O-R-N are gibberish.
01:19The bottom text also doesn't form recognizable letters.
01:22Many are accusing Fox of feeding into racist and classist tropes since most of the AI videos feature black women.
01:30I get over $2,500 a month in stamps.
01:33I sell them $2,000 worth for about $1,200 to $1,500 cash.
01:37This is another video that was deleted Monday morning, not shared by Fox, but making rounds on social media.
01:44On the microphone, which should say news under the 5, does not actually make out a four-letter word.
01:51But perhaps the biggest giveaway is, we fact-checked the source.
01:55When going to the original poster's TikTok video, which is listed on the TikTok watermark,
02:01there is a label on the video that says,
02:03contains AI-generated media.
02:05The user also hashtagged the video AI.
02:08Fox News' article is just one example of how quickly AI is testing media literacy.
02:15Creators online are now dedicating their platforms to teaching people how to spot what's real,
02:20and they're racing against a technology that's advancing just as fast as people are suspecting.
