00:00Ghislaine Maxwell asked for immunity in exchange for her testimony about Jeffrey Epstein,
00:05which the House of Representatives denied. But wait, what's the difference between immunity
00:11and a pardon? Immunity is asking to not be held responsible for things that are normally considered
00:17illegal or cause legal harm, basically saying, hey, I'll testify as long as you promise I won't
00:26get in trouble for things I may say. Now, a pardon is when someone is granted forgiveness or
00:31clemency for a crime they were found guilty of. In other words, wiping the slate clean.
00:37President Trump already said he doesn't plan to pardon Ghislaine Maxwell, so even if she was to
00:43testify and get additional charges on top of what she's already serving, she probably wouldn't get
00:50that pardon. Want us to break something else down for you? Write us in the comments.
