00:00And just over the entire postseason, the stardom of Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has arrived in full force.
00:07In the postseason, he hit .397, .494, slugged .795 with eight home runs, tying Ohtani for the most home runs ever in a postseason and 15 RBIs.
00:19Remember, he just played 18 games.
00:21His 29 hits is tied for Randy Rosarino with the second most hits ever in the playoffs.
00:27Struck out just seven times, walked 20 times with six of them being intentional.
00:35He was a force, both offensively and defensively, making a lot of key plays at first base for the Blue Jays.
00:44Pretty good start to his $500 million contract.
00:48I would say so, and he factored into a moment.
00:51For me, it was Game 5 of the World Series.
00:53Yes, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., two pitches after Davis Schneider took the first pitch of the game from Blake Snell, the Vladdy homers as well.
01:02And that moment of back-to-back homers in the front three pitches for Blake Snell, who was in a trance before Game 1 of the World Series,
01:10that was one of the defining moments for the Blue Jays for me.
01:13Everybody was saying, oh, Dodger victory, Dodger victory.
01:17After Game 3 in that 18th inning walk-off for Freeman, Dodger victory.
01:21And what do they do in Game 5 against one of the best lefties on the planet?
01:24Back-to-back homers in the first three pitches of the game.
01:28Vladdy had been unconscious all month long.
01:31And Davis Schneider, man, tip of the cap to you, dude.
01:34Tip of the cap.
01:34And tip of the cap to a couple of other players.
01:36Addison Barger.
01:38You know, Ernie Clement, which I'm going to talk about in a second.
01:40But I wanted to position Addison Barger here for a reason.
01:43Because offensively, you could make the argument he was the second-best player for the Blue Jays.
01:48Slash 367, 441, 583, with three home runs and four doubles in 17 games.
01:56And then in the World Series, Addison Barger took it to a completely different level.
02:02Even out hitting his teammate, Vladimir Guerrero Jr.
02:05In the World Series, Addison Barger hit .480, 536 OBP, 680 slug.
02:13His .243 WRC+, which again is graded on a 100 as league average scale.
02:19So he was 143% better than a league average hitter.
02:23That .243 mark was the highest on the team.
02:27I know many people are going to remember him getting doubled off in game six to end that game.
02:35But I don't want that to be the story surrounding Addison Barger's postseason run.
02:39Because we can't forget, the reason he was on second was that incredibly clutch double that got stuffed under the wall.
02:47If it takes a centimeter difference of a bounce, that's an RBI, and maybe the Blue Jays do win the World Series.
02:55So Addison Barger, hats off to you.
02:59Don't make that only mistake.
03:01Be your remembrance of Barger in the postseason.
03:04Yeah, Barger had a moment for me.
03:06It was his pinch-hit grand slam in game one.
03:08First guy to have a pinch-hit grand slam in the history of the World Series.
03:11That was an unbelievable moment.
03:15But one for me, as I bring you back to the ALCS, O-Reliable got them here.
03:21George Springer, with his go-ahead three-run home run in game seven of the ALCS, was the swing of their October.
03:28I understand that the World Series is magnified and more people are watching the World Series than the ALCS.
03:33But can we not have amnesia on the George Springer swing?
03:38That was one of the biggest swings that we've seen in recent postseason history.
