00:00give the blue jays a lot of credit though and one of the great things we're witnessing in real time
00:04now is what we all want out of the teams we root for and neither one of us tyrone and i we're not
00:09blue jays fans we're not dodgers fans i adopted the blue jays because i wanted to root for
00:13somebody in this series and the blue jays are feisty man you could make the argument that if
00:19shohei otani was not in this world series that vlad guerrero jr is giving us one of the greatest
00:25world series performances of all time he is and even with shohei otani i think vlad's giving us
00:31that both defensively and of course with that big stick is that everybody in toronto loves i told
00:38you yesterday this might go down as one of the most watched world series in the last 25 years
00:44and then the numbers came out you have to add canada and japan it all count and i kind of slept
00:49on japan which is silly of me because a lot of people there uh they stay up by like three o'clock
00:55in the morning to start watching you know dodger games and they obviously want to see otani uh do
01:00his thing yamamoto of course a very big out in the far east uh and we're getting it we're talking 20
01:05plus million people uh watching the world series right now a couple things just real quick from
01:11yesterday's game uh not that they bothered me that just things i noticed in this you know when otani
01:17gives you six innings of two run ball which is what he did i know you use the bullpen a lot in the
01:2418 in game we all get that we all knew that was going to be a factor at some point in game four
01:29last night but otani gave you what he needed to give you he gave you six yes you were losing after
01:36six but it's a one run game so the fact that they went back to otani in the seventh and then of course
01:42he doesn't get it out and they give up the four runs uh and then they pull him and then at that
01:47point the game's effectively over uh is to me something that if i'm doing sports talk in la
01:53today i'm questioning dave roberts like you got six out of him and in today's day pitchers don't go
02:01more than six we could argue that another day you know the way we've kind of you know you know i think
02:06emasculated starting pitchers in major league baseball but if i said it on the show yesterday
02:12if you can get six innings out of otani take it and run with it and to otani's credit well he wasn't
02:20dominating he struck out six it wasn't the same as his last performance when he struck out 10 he gave
02:26you six innings of two run ball you've got other dudes in the bullpen who can pitch back-to-back days
02:33we're trying to win a world series for crying out loud so i just thought that was mismanaged a bit
02:38but the flip side is since most shows are always so negative we're trying to find who do we blame
02:43who do we blame dave roberts is an obvious choice theoretically yeah you could blame otani i suppose
02:48because he didn't get out of that seventh inning and uh kind of got you know shelled uh in the seventh
02:53inning but i'm a positive dude as you know if you've ever listened to me on the radio or in my couple
02:58years at fs1 i always find the rainbow in every story tyrone oh i'm the most positive cat with a
03:05microphone in front of his face i'm not that guy i'm not a hater i'm not a guy that looks for
03:09negativity sometimes it appears and you have to deal with it but i'm always the guy that's looking
03:14for the silver lining i want to talk about the positive stuff in sports right okay and yet it's
03:19very hard to do that today but i would just say this at some point i know everybody hates the blue
03:26jays especially new yorkers because they knocked the yankees out i totally get that i know we kind of
03:31hate the blue jays because they're canadian even though i don't think they have a canadian on the
03:35roster but at some point can we acknowledge this is a fun team to watch oh yeah this is a gritty team
03:42this is a team that while they suck at running the bases uh in this postseason defensively they make
03:50big plays in big moments offensively they've half a dozen guys who get big hits in big moments
03:57and their pitching staff largely has been lights out including their bullpen and while the story's
04:03going to be dave roberts allowing otana to pitch the seventh and it backfiring on him the story should
04:10be the fact that on the road after what's got to be the most brutal loss anybody in that dugout has
04:17ever suffered going 18 innings and losing game three on the road against the dodgers and then having to
04:24come back you know 12 hours later and and compete and fight and try to tie the series up toronto did
04:32that
