00:00Have you got what it takes to make it all the way to our final question and join the 1% club?
00:17Anyone has a chance to win because this quiz isn't about how much you know, it's about how your brain really works.
00:22As all our questions are based on logic and common sense.
00:24So who will make it to the end and answer a question, only 1% of the country can get right and win up to £100,000.
00:32Let's play the 1% club.
00:37And hoping to win tonight's our 100 players.
00:40Welcome.
00:43Give us a cheer if you're so confident tonight, you've already started spending the money in your head.
00:49Lady at the back there, what's your name?
00:51I'm Shireen from Birmingham.
00:52Hello, Shireen. How are you?
00:54I'm very well, thank you. Excited to be here.
00:56Why do you think you'll do so well?
00:58I do really well on the sofa at home.
01:00Do you ever watch the programme, though?
01:02Yes.
01:04Old school.
01:05Every weekend, me and the family, we get together and I do surprisingly really well.
01:11Good. What do you do for a living?
01:12I'm a reward manager.
01:14OK.
01:15Have you got any hobbies?
01:16I'm absolutely obsessed with cleaning ears.
01:18Cleaning them?
01:19Yeah.
01:20I know.
01:21What, your own ears?
01:21I know, anybody's ears.
01:23I have an actual, like, the endoscope with the lights and the different attachments on the end.
01:31And you can sync it with your phone, with your smartphone or the TV.
01:34You can look into other people's ears?
01:36Yeah.
01:36Are you qualified?
01:37No.
01:38No.
01:39No.
01:40OK.
01:41So, you would literally just go up to a stranger and say, can I have a look in your ear?
01:43We're family and friends.
01:46OK.
01:47Well, listen, good luck tonight.
01:48And the person on your left, just have a little look at his ear.
01:50Tell me if it's all right.
01:51Give you a cheer if you think you're going to do terribly.
01:53Woo-hoo!
01:54Gentleman up there.
01:55What's your name?
01:55So, my name is Mivik, but I don't know in the streets.
01:58Mivik.
01:59Could you just say that whole sentence again?
02:01I said, my name is Mivik, but I don't know in the streets.
02:04Mivik.
02:05Isn't that the same thing?
02:06Yes.
02:08Right.
02:08What about when you're not in the street?
02:09Maybe you're in your house or something?
02:11What are you known as then?
02:11My parents also call me Mivik.
02:13That sounds to me like you're called Mivik.
02:15Let's not go through where you're called Mivik, because we could be here all day, wouldn't
02:19we?
02:19Yeah.
02:19In the shops, is it Mivik?
02:20Yeah.
02:21What would you like me to call you tonight?
02:23Mivik.
02:23Right.
02:24Ladies and gentlemen, Mivik.
02:28What do you do, Mivik?
02:29So, I'm an iOS engineer by day.
02:32But by the evening, on the street, I'm an iOS engineer.
02:36Yes.
02:36OK.
02:37Why do you think you're going to do so badly tonight?
02:39I subscribe to ITVX to watch every single episode of 1% Club.
02:43And that did terribly.
02:44You've done the whole box set?
02:45Every single thing.
02:46I'm looking forward to speaking to you some more, Mivik.
02:48Oh, no.
02:49It sounds like we'd better make it quick.
02:51Good luck, Mivik.
02:53Tell you, that was your name, wasn't it?
02:54Yes.
02:54Yeah, yeah.
02:55Now, don't forget, you can play along at home if you want.
02:57All you have to do is download the app.
02:59OK, before we ask our first question, here's a reminder of how the show works.
03:03We asked a cross-section of people from all over Britain a list of our unique questions.
03:07Based on their answers, we can tell statistically what percentage of the country should get each one right.
03:13Tonight, I'll be asking those exact questions to our 100 contestants, beginning with the easier one that 90% of Britain got right,
03:20and ending with the most challenging question that only 1% of the great British public answered correctly.
03:25At the start of the show, every contestant is given a £1,000 stake.
03:30If they get any question wrong, they are out of the game, and the £1,000 is transferred to the 1% prize pot.
03:36Whoever gets the furthest in the quiz wins £10,000, and the chance to answer the final 1% question to win everything in the prize pot,
03:45and take home up to £100,000.
03:49APPLAUSE
03:49Right, let's get on with it. It's time for our first question.
03:54So, this is one that 90% of our survey got right.
03:58Let's see how you do in the studio.
04:01What four letters are shared by these two pictures?
04:06Your time starts now.
04:07That fella on the left has run out of loo roll.
04:13LAUGHTER
04:14OK, your time is up.
04:31Right, let's see who's lights stay on, and they're still in the game, and how many people are out.
04:51Right, we lost four people, though. Let's have a look at the answer.
04:54It's T-E-A-R, Ter and Tia.
04:57We've lost Bex Culshaw. Where are you, Bex?
04:59I'm healy, and I'm absolutely devastated.
05:02Are you?
05:03Yeah.
05:03Sorry to hear that.
05:04I thought I was honestly going to take away the £100,000 today.
05:06That is embarrassing on every level.
05:08What did...
05:09I think you've made me very nervous.
05:12Oh, it's my fault?
05:13Yeah.
05:14What have you put?
05:15I put eyes.
05:19You know the bloke tearing that sheet of paper?
05:22Those things in the behinding. You know they're buttons, don't you?
05:26Oh, well, listen, unlucky, Bex. I'm sorry about that.
05:29Ashley Bowditch, where are you?
05:30Oh, no way. I'm over here, Lee.
05:32All right, Ashley, what did you put?
05:33You don't want to look at my answer. Can you see my answer? You can't, can't you?
05:36I've just seen it on the iPads, yes.
05:38I was on the app last night, 5%, 10%, yeah, yeah.
05:40Never mind that. Tell them your answer.
05:42I can't, dude.
05:43Do you want me to tell them?
05:44Just paper cry.
05:45You've actually put ex-paper cry.
05:47I did.
05:47I was like, paper cry, Ter.
05:49Paper cry.
05:50I was going to cheat. I can't cheat. I'm allowed to.
05:52I mean...
05:5390% I'm out.
05:54Paper cry.
05:55I mean, four letters.
05:57Do you know what I...
05:58Even paper's pushing it.
06:00But paper, I know you think, is that four?
06:02That's not enough. I'll stick cry on as well.
06:03I've seen two, I thought it meant two words, obviously paper, ah, listen, forget about it.
06:09Guys, good luck. I'm going to sit back here for the next five hours.
06:12I'm an absolute idiot.
06:14No, you're not an idiot.
06:15You've done well to even fill in the application form.
06:18I know, I know.
06:19Well done, Ashley.
06:20Listen, it's difficult.
06:21The pressure, it's always the pressure on the day.
06:23It's a lot harder in the studio than it is at home, isn't it?
06:26So, there are 96 people left in the game,
06:28and the £1,000 of everyone who got the question wrong goes into the prize pot.
06:32Right, £4,000.
06:38Right, it's time for the 80% question.
06:42So, this is a question that 80% of the people we asked managed to get right.
06:45Let's see how you get on with this one.
06:49What sport is depicted here?
06:51And your time starts now.
06:56All I know is that they are two things I don't want near my house.
07:02OK, your time is up.
07:18Oh, please let someone have put carpet wasp.
07:22Right, let's see who got it right.
07:23Right, we lost three people.
07:39Let's have a look at the answer.
07:41Rug and B. Rugby.
07:43Somebody who got that wrong is Zoe Carver.
07:45I mean, I've got to ask.
07:46What did you put?
07:47Don't make me say it.
07:48Oh, go on.
07:49Please say wasp carpet.
07:50No, I'll put Matt B.
07:51Matt B?
07:52I didn't get that.
07:53After I put it, then Rugby, yeah.
07:55Matt B?
07:56Because you saw the B, but you just saw a Matt.
07:58Yeah, I just saw a Matt.
07:59How did your family think you were going to do today, Zoe?
08:02Terribly.
08:02Like, my husband basically said that if I didn't get past the first question,
08:05the divorce papers were on the side.
08:07So, I've done that.
08:08You've got past the first question.
08:10Yeah.
08:11Well, listen, unlucky Zoe.
08:12Maisie Sylvester, where are you, Maisie?
08:14I'm sorry for laughing, but I see on the thing what people have written.
08:18Yeah.
08:19And it is quite funny.
08:20Yeah.
08:21Well, I nearly put Matt B as well.
08:22Instead, you put...
08:23Yeah, frisbee.
08:24Frisbee.
08:26Oh, never mind.
08:27OK, let's see what that's done to the prize put.
08:31Right, we are on £7,000.
08:33CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
08:34OK, we're on to the 70% question.
08:39Let's take a look at it.
08:40Which two of these animals joined together to form a word
08:45which is not an animal?
08:47Your time starts now.
08:52Looks like the world's most disappointing to Zoe.
08:54LAUGHTER
08:55OK, your time is up.
09:14Let's see who got it right.
09:15MUSIC PLAYS
09:19Oh, dear, it just went a bit Squid Game.
09:38We've lost 17 people.
09:40Let's have a look at the answer.
09:42Seal and ant.
09:44Sealant.
09:45We've lost Matthew Gilman.
09:47Yeah, over here.
09:47Matthew, what did you put?
09:49I just didn't see it.
09:49I wrote something seal and then my letters sort of mixed up.
09:53I just didn't see it.
09:54You actually put S-E-A-K-C-A.
09:57Yeah.
09:58I mean, if you're going to give yourself a fighting chance
09:59with a guest, you always put the C before the K.
10:01Yeah.
10:02What would you have done with the money?
10:04I would have gone travelling.
10:05Would you?
10:05I think that would have been...
10:06I would have taken...
10:06I probably would have taken the £10,000.
10:08OK.
10:08Not the grand?
10:09You wouldn't have taken the grand?
10:10No, not a grand.
10:11It's not enough, really, to make a big...
10:12You say it's not enough.
10:13At the moment, it's quite a lot, isn't it?
10:14It is, to be fair.
10:15At the moment, it's nothing, so...
10:17It's almost like £1,000 more than you've got.
10:19Yeah.
10:20Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
10:25We're on £24,000.
10:28OK, it's time for the 60% question.
10:31Let's take a look.
10:32At the local supermarket, a meal deal consists of a drink, sandwich and snack.
10:40Sam bought the items shown on the right for some friends.
10:43How many complete meal deals did Sam qualify for?
10:48Your time starts now.
10:49She's the boy.
11:11She's the boy.
11:15She's the boy.
11:16Okay, your time is up, and it's good to see that Sam is getting his non-a-day.
11:26Right, let's see if you've got it right.
11:44Right, we lost five people there.
11:45Let's have a look at the answer.
11:47It's four.
11:48The leftover items, two sandwiches and a drink, do not qualify for the meal deal.
11:53Somebody who got it wrong is Lisa Wilde.
11:55I'm here.
11:56Right behind me, Lisa.
11:58You're right, Lisa.
11:59I'm...
12:00Megastis flabbered, that's what it is.
12:03You look like a woman who is desperate not to swear at that point.
12:09What did you put?
12:10Three.
12:11How did you do it?
12:12What was your system?
12:13Well, I was looking at, like, how many cans of pop are there, how many sandwiches, and I just got confused.
12:20Well, I'm just...
12:21Your gasp is flabbered.
12:22I'm very excited.
12:23Is this your first time on television?
12:25No.
12:26No.
12:27Been on a few things before.
12:28Like what?
12:29Tell me, I love this.
12:30What have you been on?
12:31I've been on Pointless.
12:32How did you do it, Pointless?
12:33Rubbish.
12:34It was worse than that.
12:35It was worse than that.
12:36The chap I went on with didn't talk to me for six months.
12:38What was the problem?
12:39So it was an American president whose first name was alphabetically before their surname.
12:46OK.
12:47So I thought, Bill Clinton.
12:49Stop filming.
12:50Stop filming.
12:51Why?
12:52Because it forgot to tell us it was their full name.
12:56So it was William.
12:57So they should have then let you through?
12:59They didn't.
13:00Oh, dear.
13:01Do you want me to have a word with Richard?
13:03No, it's all right.
13:04It's in the past, Lee.
13:05It's in the past.
13:06This is my new embarrassment.
13:08OK.
13:09What else have you been on?
13:10Naked attraction?
13:11Not quite.
13:12Oh, that's a shame.
13:13This screen could have just come up.
13:15Yeah.
13:16I wouldn't be picked.
13:17Um, it...
13:18Was it being, er...
13:19Not if your gasp has been flabbered.
13:21It's been more than flabbered.
13:24Yes.
13:25Oh, dear.
13:26That's...
13:27That's possibly a bit too much on a Saturday night.
13:29Sorry.
13:30You're brilliant.
13:31I'm so sorry you're out, Lisa.
13:32Yeah, I'm sorry I'm out as well.
13:34Never mind.
13:35So let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
13:40£29,000.
13:41So it's time for a quick break.
13:43We've lost 29 people here already.
13:45Hope you're doing OK at home.
13:46And don't forget, you can play along on the app.
13:48After the break, we'll be moving closer to seeing
13:50if anyone here can answer the 1% question.
13:52See you in a bit.
13:53Welcome back to the 1% Club.
13:54We started off with 100 people and now we're down to 71.
13:56The person who does best here tonight could be going home
13:58with up to £100,000.
13:59So welcome to everyone who's still in the game.
14:00And from now on, we are going to give you the opportunity to pay for a pass to the next question.
14:04And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
14:05However, if you get as far as the 30% question without using your pass,
14:06you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
14:07Right, it's time for the prize pot.
14:08Let's go.
14:09Welcome back to the 1% Club.
14:10Welcome back to the 1% Club.
14:11We started off with 100 people and now we're down to 71.
14:13The person who does best here tonight could be going home with up to £100,000.
14:14So welcome to everyone who's still in the game.
14:17And from now on, we are going to give you the opportunity to pay for a pass to the next question.
14:22And if you do, your £1,000 will be transferred to the prize pot.
14:25However, if you get as far as the 30% question without using your pass,
14:29you'll get the chance to take your £1,000 and leave the game.
14:32Right, it's time for the 50% question.
14:37Let's take a look.
14:40Gloria is playing a game where she tells you two truths and one lie about herself.
14:45Which of these statements is the lie?
14:47And your 30 seconds starts now.
14:52OK, your time is over.
15:21Yeah, great game, Gloria. Maybe get a PlayStation.
15:24Right, let's see who got it right.
15:27Right, we lost six people. Let's have a look at the answer.
15:29It's C. C can never be true as the 29th of February only happens every four years and 11 is not a multiple of four.
15:33Now, eight people used their pass on this question, including James Tyson.
15:36Didn't fancy your chances on that one?
15:39I didn't know. I was going to put B, but I thought I'd better just double check and I still wasn't sure, so I used the pass.
15:45Very wise, that's what it's for. What do you do, James?
15:48I work in the building industry and also do, I'm a magician, do a lot of mentalism tricks as well.
15:51So you could probably predict how well you'll do.
15:53If I get through to the first question, I'd be able to do that.
15:54The first question is, I would be able to do a lot of people's advice.
15:59That would be true as the 29th of February only happens every four years and 11 is not a multiple of four.
16:03Now, eight people use their pass on this question, including James Tyson.
16:05Didn't fancy your chances on that one?
16:06I didn't know. I was going to put B, but I thought I'd better just double check and I still wasn't sure, so I use the pass.
16:11I work in the building industry and also do, I'm a magician, do a lot of mentalism tricks as well.
16:17So you could probably predict how well you'll do.
16:20If I get through to the final, I've got a prediction which I'm happy to share with everybody.
16:24I genuinely said it as a joke, but you have done that.
16:26Yes, I have, yeah. Where is this prediction?
16:28It's underneath this shirt.
16:30What do you mean it's under the shirt, like in an envelope?
16:32On a T-shirt.
16:33On the T-shirt, under there, is the prediction of how far you will get tonight?
16:36Absolutely.
16:37And you'll show us?
16:38Yeah, if I get through to the final, I'll show you.
16:40Well, then we know what the prediction is.
16:43No.
16:44It's a little bit more than that.
16:46What if you go out early? Can we have a look at the prediction anyway?
16:49Definitely not.
16:50Well, think again, sunshine, because we're coming to you if you're out and we want to see that T-shirt.
16:56I've seen the next question, it's hard. Start unbuttoning.
16:59Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
17:04We're on £43,000.
17:06OK, it's time for the 45% question.
17:11Let's take a look at it.
17:13What single letter replaces the question mark to create three words?
17:19OK, your time starts now.
17:21Now, take a look at your time starts now.
17:27Okay, your time is up.
17:54Right, let's see whose lights are still on.
17:57Right, we lost four people, let's have a look at the answer.
18:14It's Kay, Kayak, Kiosk and Nook.
18:18Oh, we lost the unbelievable timing.
18:22Oh, hello, it's James Tyson.
18:24Hey, I pushed the wrong button.
18:26You're not very good at sleight of hand then, are you?
18:28No, definitely not.
18:29James Tyson, the man who's got a prediction on his shirt.
18:33Do you know what I'm going to ask you, James?
18:35I forgot to put my shirt on.
18:36What kind of mentalist are you?
18:38You haven't forgotten, have you?
18:40I haven't. Do you want to see it?
18:42Yes, we want to see it.
18:43Yes, we want to see it.
18:47If you say I'm going out on the 45% question, this will be the best bit of TV ever.
18:51I was convinced I was going to get through and win 96k.
18:57I've just won the 1% club, 96,000 pounds.
19:00And I slipped, and I slipped with my finger.
19:02I knew it was Kay, but I just slipped.
19:04Oh, never mind, James, unlucky.
19:06People have come away here losing nothing at all.
19:08Unfortunately, you've lost the price of a t-shirt as well.
19:11Right, let's have a look at what that's done to the prize pot.
19:1455,000 pounds.
19:19OK, it's time for the 40% question.
19:24Let's take a look at it.
19:27Which of these replaces the question mark to make the name of a country?
19:31OK, your time starts now.
19:37I wish I was playing.
19:39I just want to sit down, to be honest.
19:41OK, your time is up.
20:05Let's see if you've got it right.
20:07OK, we lost six people. Let's have a look at the answer.
20:28It is C, star, Costa Rica.
20:32Someone who passed is Jennifer Jowett.
20:34Did you not know, or you just weren't sure enough?
20:36I was trying to spell Corsica.
20:39Oh, I see.
20:40I was trying to use an anagram of the cross, and then I pressed pass,
20:44and then I thought, do I really want to pass?
20:46And it wasn't quite read.
20:47And then I looked back, and I thought, oh, no, it's Costa B.
20:50Oh, it's gone. Yeah.
20:51So never mind.
20:52You really did give us an insight into what you were thinking there,
20:54didn't you? Yeah.
20:55Yeah.
20:56What made you apply?
20:57Me and my sister applied together originally.
20:59Oh, OK.
21:00And she didn't get through and I did, so I'm already winning.
21:03OK.
21:04But we have a really good motto in life.
21:07OK, what's that?
21:08And it is, if you can't figure it out, chuck it in the bucket and move on.
21:12Surely it's, if you can't work it out, chuck it in the bucket.
21:15Not, if you can't work it out, chuck it in the bucket.
21:17That's not my word.
21:18Chuck it in the bucket.
21:19Yeah, it is.
21:20I'm not sure that's grammatically correct.
21:21Well, I could say it out loud, but I won't be able to air it.
21:24All right, I'll say it and we'll beep it.
21:25OK.
21:26It's either, if you can't work it out, chuck it in the bucket.
21:28Yeah.
21:29Or if you can't work it out, chuck it in the bucket.
21:31Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
21:3463,000 pounds.
21:35OK, let's move on to the 35% question.
21:41Here it is.
21:46If you put all five shapes into the grid without rotating them, what is the letter and number
21:53combination of the only square that won't be used?
21:57And your time starts now.
22:04OK, your time is up.
22:32Let's see if you've got it right and how many people are out.
22:39We lost three people there.
22:52Let's have a look at the answer.
22:57There it is.
22:59C2.
23:00Someone who got that right is Mivic.
23:02It is Mivic, isn't it?
23:03Yes.
23:04That was a joke because you kept saying your name Mivic.
23:07Mivic, you were very doubtful that you were going to do very well.
23:10Yes.
23:11You're still with us and it's the 35% question.
23:14Yeah, I'm kind of surprised, yeah.
23:16Have you used your pass?
23:17No.
23:18So you're still with us.
23:19You're doing better than you thought.
23:20Yeah, yeah.
23:21Hopefully, I'll go home with something.
23:22But if I don't, I'm not surprised.
23:24If you go home with nothing, you can say, I went home with nothing.
23:26But on the street, I went home with nothing.
23:29So let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
23:35£65,000.
23:36Right, it's time for a quick break.
23:38Welcome to everyone's doing the game.
23:39We'll see you in a bit when someone here could win up to £100,000.
23:43Welcome back to the 1% Club.
23:56We've been asking questions which have been tested out on a cross-section of the British public.
24:00And we've been whittling down the contestants here tonight.
24:02And are left with 52 people with their lights still on.
24:06As a reward, any contestant who hasn't played their pass and still has the £1,000 now has a choice.
24:11Play on for the big money in the prize pot.
24:13Or you can take your £1,000 and leave the quiz right now.
24:16So first of all, let's see which players still have their £1,000.
24:21Okay, so those of you with your lights on, you can take your money and leave the show if you want.
24:25So please make your decision now.
24:26Okay, so seven of you have decided to take your £1,000 and leave the game, including Bethany Rotor.
24:44What are you going to do with the money?
24:46Well, my plan was to book myself in for some therapy.
24:50Therapy?
24:51Yeah, therapy.
24:52So hypnosis.
24:53So I have a phobia of fish.
24:55Do you?
24:56Yeah, like Finding Nemo, the sea, fishmonger in general.
25:01Hang on, one thing at a time here.
25:03The ones in the fishmonger, they're not even alive.
25:05No, no.
25:06Finding Nemo is a cartoon.
25:08Yeah, I know.
25:09The sea, I'll give you that.
25:11I used to work in a doctor's surgery and there was a girl who brought in a tuna steak wrapped up and I was on the phone to a patient and she walked up behind me and slapped me around the face with the tuna.
25:20Why?
25:21Just for bants.
25:23For fun?
25:24For fun, yeah.
25:25So I put my patient on hold and just sat and sobbed and everyone thought it was hilarious and I obviously didn't.
25:30So I was going to buy myself some hypnosis but £1,000 and I might treat myself to a paddling pool session.
25:37No fish there.
25:38I'm glad you said the second one because the first one was quite a dark and disturbing story.
25:43There it is.
25:44So thank you, Bethany.
25:45You're welcome.
25:46So well done to everyone who's got £1,000.
25:48Congratulations.
25:49Right, so the rest of you have decided to play on.
25:53Let's see if that gamble will pay off and if any of you can go all the way and join the 1% Club.
25:57And remember, if you've still got your £1,000, you can pay for a pass to the next question.
26:02OK, it's time for the 30% question.
26:06Which of the names listed below when inserted somewhere into the word parent makes it into a new word with a new definition?
26:18And your time starts now.
26:20So we'll be right back to you soon.
26:22So we'll get to know which one second.
26:24Let's see if time starts now.
26:25Bye.
26:26See you soon.
26:27Bye.
26:28Bye.
26:29Bye.
26:30Bye.
26:31Bye.
26:32Bye.
26:33Bye.
26:34Bye.
26:35Bye.
26:36Bye.
26:37Bye.
26:38Bye.
26:39Bye.
26:40Bye.
26:41Bye.
26:41Bye.
26:42Bye.
26:44Bye.
26:45Bye.
26:46Bye.
26:48Bye.
26:49Bye.
26:49Bye.
26:49Bye.
26:50OK, your time is up. Let's see who got it right.
27:10Right, we lost three people there. Let's have a look at the answer.
27:14It is C. Liam, parent, becomes Parliament.
27:18Six of you didn't know the answer and you used your pass, including Zephan Morris.
27:24How are you doing? Yeah, good, thank you.
27:26You didn't have a clue or you just weren't sure enough?
27:29I pressed pass too quick and I should have just given it a bit more time
27:32because I did see it before the end of the time.
27:35But you'd already played the pass. Yeah, good.
27:37What do you do, Zephan?
27:38I'm a site manager on a construction site for ground workers and civil engineers.
27:42So you are surrounded by loads of hard hats and all that?
27:44Loads of hard hats, loads of hot heads and trying to keep them trying.
27:48Did you tell them you were coming on?
27:49Yeah, a few of them do know.
27:51But they know me as a different name on site.
27:53Oh, really? What's your name on site?
27:55Billy. Why?
27:56Little old Norfolk. People like to keep things simple.
27:59So I was an apprentice 20 years ago and he sort of said, you know,
28:02what's your name, boy?
28:03I said, Zephan. He said, come with me, Billy.
28:05Yeah.
28:06I mean, why did he bother even asking your name?
28:07Why didn't he just say, come with me, Billy?
28:08I don't know.
28:09So for the last 20 years, I've been known as Billy on site.
28:10But only on site?
28:11Only on site.
28:12So when I say tonight, you know, Zephan Morris, you've used your pass.
28:14Yeah.
28:15People are over going.
28:16Well, that's not Zephan, that's Billy.
28:17Yeah.
28:18Okay.
28:19Maybe Billy's still got a pass.
28:20That's a good way of looking at it.
28:21Yeah.
28:22Okay.
28:23Well, well done.
28:24You're still with us.
28:25Cheers.
28:26Right.
28:27Let's see what that's done today.
28:28I've done with Billy.
28:29I've done with Billy.
28:30I've done with Billy.
28:31Yeah.
28:32Okay.
28:33Well, well done.
28:34You're still with us.
28:35Cheers.
28:36Right.
28:37Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
28:39£71,000.
28:40Okay.
28:41We're at the 25% stage now.
28:45Here's the question.
28:48Which two digits do you need to swap to make the solution to this maths problem correct?
28:54And your time starts now.
28:56The money...
28:57I'm08,000.
28:58It's trouser different matches.
28:59I've spent some nights celebrating if I don't know it.
29:00I build aもので here day.
29:01We're supposed to not tournaments.
29:04But then I'm no longer going in here.
29:05OK, your time is up.
29:28Let's see who got it right.
29:35Right, we lost eight people. Let's have a look at the answer.
29:52You swapped the nine and the two, and there's the maths.
29:55Someone who used her pass is Madison Arker.
29:59Where are you, Madison? Hi.
30:01Didn't know it or just wasn't sure enough?
30:02I was going to put that, and then I didn't,
30:05and I'm really annoyed at myself because I got it afterwards.
30:07Yeah, but if you don't know it, that's what it's for, the pass.
30:10What do you do, Madison?
30:11I'm a teaching assistant in a secondary school.
30:13What did they think you would do before you came here?
30:15Did you tell them you were coming on?
30:17I'm at a doctor's appointment.
30:20Oh, so you haven't told them?
30:22Can you cut that bit out, please?
30:24100% not.
30:26You didn't just tell the kids,
30:28you actually told the school you had a doctor's appointment.
30:30Yeah.
30:30And the thing is, if they'd seen you on television,
30:34they would just assume this was filmed on a different day,
30:36like the weekend.
30:37Yeah.
30:38Now you've told them.
30:40Well, listen, good luck.
30:41I hope the doctor's worked out.
30:43Do let us know what the result was.
30:46Someone else who got it right is Ian Fellows.
30:48Hello, Ian.
30:48Have you used your pass?
30:49I've not yet, no.
30:50You're in another one in a very strong position.
30:52What do you do, Ian?
30:53I'm a vicar in Greater Manchester.
30:54Are you?
30:55Yeah.
30:55Where's the dog collar?
30:57In my back pocket.
30:58Is it really?
30:58It is.
30:59Have you been a vicar long?
31:0125 years.
31:01Is it your job to spread the word rather than I do it in your back pocket?
31:04Oh, day off today.
31:06I've not chucked a sickie to be here.
31:08Oh, I know.
31:09You have lied in front of a vicar.
31:12He's got the cut of your jib, madam.
31:15Have you ever pulled a sickie as a vicar?
31:16You have, haven't you?
31:18That is fantastic.
31:20How can you pull a sickie if you're a vicar?
31:22How does that work?
31:24I'm going to kind of not say anything about that.
31:27Well, that clearly means you have.
31:28I have, yes.
31:29Really?
31:29Yeah, yeah.
31:30Oh, I can't come into that.
31:31A bit of possession.
31:33What are you going to do with the money?
31:35I've just finished climbing most of the Wainwrights in the lake,
31:38so I'm thinking I'm going to buy a canoe
31:40and try fishing around in the lakes in the lakes.
31:43How many Wainwrights have you done?
31:46214.
31:47So you've done them all?
31:48Yeah.
31:48Because I genuinely am trying to do that,
31:51and I've spent four years doing it.
31:52Do you know how many I've done?
31:54214?
31:55Three.
31:55Ah.
31:57OK, well, well done.
31:58You're still with us.
31:59Right, let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
32:00£77,000.
32:07We've got 54 people scoring the game
32:09and are down to the 20% question now.
32:13Let's take a look.
32:16In week one, Harry is at number one in the charts
32:19and Justin is at number 10.
32:21If, each week, Harry moves down two places
32:24and Justin moves up two places,
32:27in which week will Justin overtake Harry?
32:30Your time starts now.
33:01OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
33:26Right, we lost 15 on that one. Let's have a look at the answer.
33:29It's week four. There's the graphic to prove it.
33:33Someone who got it right is Kasim Sadiq.
33:36What are you, Kasim? Yeah. Well done, Kasim.
33:38Thank you. Have you still got your pass? Yeah.
33:41Wow, you have as well. What do you do?
33:43I work in a pharmacy.
33:45How did your colleagues or family think you would get on today?
33:48Er, I didn't tell anyone.
33:50You've not told anyone?
33:51Just my mum and dad.
33:52Have you phoned in on a sickie?
33:54Er, yeah, kind of, yeah.
33:56Oh, you have as well?
33:57Yeah.
33:58It's hard to phone in with a sickie if you're a pharmacist
34:00because they just said, come in, we've got just the thing for you.
34:02I was like, nothing will sort this out. It's really bad.
34:05Oh, my God.
34:07It's terminal.
34:09OK, great. That's it. Keep it light, Kasim. Brilliant.
34:13Good luck to you, Kasim, and good luck to everybody else
34:16who's still with us.
34:17Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
34:22We're on £84,000.
34:25We are getting close to the end.
34:27It's now time for the 15% question.
34:31Right, let's take a look at this one.
34:34There is one single letter that you can use to replace a letter
34:37in each of the words below, so the first one becomes a different food,
34:41the second one becomes a different body part,
34:43and the third one becomes a different animal.
34:45What is the letter?
34:46And your time starts now.
35:11OK, your time is up. Let's see whose lights are still on.
35:22MUSIC PLAYS
35:39Right, we lost five people on that one.
35:41Let's have a look at the answer.
35:42Francesca Powell, you got it right.
35:44Hello, Francesca.
35:45Hi.
35:46What a lovely little delicate wave you gave us there.
35:48It was marvellous.
35:49What do you do, Francesca?
35:50I'm a student.
35:51I've literally just finished my A levels.
35:52How old are you?
35:5318.
35:54Are you nervous?
35:55Are you OK?
35:56I'm terrified.
35:57Are you?
35:58Do you have a pass?
35:59Yes, I do.
36:00You still have a pass.
36:01You're one of the six, are you?
36:02Congratulations.
36:03So what are you going to do with the money if you win?
36:05Well, I'm going to uni next year.
36:06So the goal is to not be broke at uni.
36:08So my mum's so jealous that I'm here tonight.
36:10Does she want to come on?
36:11Yeah, she loves you, loves the show.
36:12Oh, I love your mum.
36:13She'll love it if that makes sense.
36:14What's your mum called?
36:15Gemma.
36:16Where are you from?
36:17Sussex.
36:18Which town?
36:19Horsham.
36:20Oh, my gosh, I have met her.
36:22Just over 18 years ago, actually.
36:24LAUGHTER
36:25And I'm going to uni next year.
36:26I'm going to uni next year.
36:27So the goal is to not be broke at uni.
36:29My mum's so jealous that I'm here tonight.
36:30Does she want to come on?
36:31Yeah, she loves you, loves the show.
36:32Oh, I love your mum.
36:33LAUGHTER
36:36Well, listen, good luck.
36:38Let's see what that's done to the prize pot.
36:43£87,000.
36:45Right.
36:46We are down to our last 14 players.
36:49After the break, we'll find out which of our remaining contestants
36:51could go on and play the 1% question.
36:53See you in a bit.
36:54APPLAUSE
36:55Welcome back to the 1% Club.
37:07We are very nearly at the point where we will discover who our winner will be.
37:10Now, here's how the end of the game works.
37:12Whoever does the best here tonight will win £10,000.
37:14But if they're feeling brave, they can risk their £10,000 by trying to answer the 1% question.
37:19Get it right and they will win everything in the prize pot, which is currently sitting at £87,000.
37:25And remember, the six of you who still have your £1,000, you can pay for a pass, but you can't use it on the 1% question.
37:35But if you've still got it at the 1% question, then you get to keep that £1,000 no matter what happens.
37:40So, there are only 14 people left in the quiz and it's now time for the 10% question.
37:46Let's take a look.
37:49Going from image A to image B, how many emojis have not been rotated 90 degrees clockwise?
37:57The time starts now.
38:00For those who need to be our stars now.
38:14OK, time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
38:44Right, we lost nine people. Let's have a look at the answer.
39:00It's just one. The highlighted emoji has been rotated 180 degrees.
39:05Oh, no, we've lost Mivik. Mivik Alenu, where are you?
39:09Oh, you were doing so well. You got to the 10% question
39:12and you thought you weren't even going to get very far at all?
39:15Yeah, I'm cooked, either way. I don't know what to say.
39:18OK, well done, Mivik. You got a lot further than you thought.
39:21My fiancé was really hoping that I'd bring something home at least,
39:24but I had no hope anyway, so I think I'm good.
39:27She'll be proud of you. Well done, Mivik.
39:30Let's see what that's done to the prize box.
39:35We're on £93,000.
39:38OK, it's getting very tense in here. We are down to the 5% question.
39:42Let's have a look at it.
39:48There are two commonly used two-letter words that share the same letters.
39:54If you take the opposites of those two words,
39:57you should now have two three-letter words.
40:00What are those new words?
40:03OK, your time starts now.
40:12OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
40:26OK, your time is up. Let's see if you've got it right.
40:39OK, we've lost two people, though. Let's have a look at the answer.
41:01It is yes and off. The two-letter words are no and on, and their opposites are yes and off.
41:06So we have lost, unfortunately, Joshua Coltman and Becca Wallace, but we have our finalists.
41:11Congratulations, Ian Fellows, Cassian Sadie and Francesca Powell.
41:16You made it through to the 1% question. Come down and join me.
41:19APPLAUSE
41:27Because you've done so well and made it to our final question, you win a share of £10,000.
41:32But now you all face a dilemma. You can leave the show tonight and take your share, which works out at...
41:36£3,333. Or you can risk it all by attempting the 1% question.
41:44Get it right and you win your share of everything in the prize pot, which stands at...
41:49£93,000.
41:53APPLAUSE
41:55Get it wrong and you will leave with nothing.
41:57Obviously, if one of you decides to play on and gets it right, then you'll win all the prize pot.
42:02If more than one of you decides to play, you'll win a share of it.
42:05So, it's now time to make your decision.
42:08MUSIC PLAYS
42:21OK, all of your lights are on, which means you've decided to play on.
42:26So, after whittling down the contestants here in the studio, we are left with the 1% question.
42:32If you all get this right, you win your share of the prize pot and become members of the 1% club.
42:41Good luck. This is your 1% question.
42:50Look at the image below.
